Misusing the Testimonies of God’s Love
1 Corinthians 1:6 Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: 7 So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: 8 Who shall also confirm you unto the end, [that ye may be] blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The testimony of Christ is the spirit of prophecy and that was a gift given to Gods church in the days in which his coming is very near and before that terrible day when the winds of strife would be let loose, he has sent the testimony of Christ that we would be blameless so that there is nothing in us that would be destroyed and render us incapable of surviving.
Malachi 4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: 6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.We learnt that the promise of Elijah the prophet was fulfilled in the testimony of Jesus just before the coming of Jesus and the sealing work commenced not long after 1844. As that sealing work commenced, the Lord sent a messenger. In fact two men beforehand but unfortunately the men didn’t pick up the message so it was left with a woman who was the weakest of the weak. Not only a woman which is the weaker vessel in Gods kingdom, but a very frail and sick woman. Someone who was not well educated. Jesus is speaking to her to help us to appreciate that indeed it was the testimony of Jesus.
“Be not afraid of man, for My shield shall protect you. It is not you that speaketh: it is the Lord that giveth the messages of warning and reproof. {1SM 32.3}
It is not Sr White that speaks, it is the Lord that gives these messages. She was simply a mouth piece. The words that Jesus would speak would be in a way different to which people today would speak.
Almost everything in this age is glossed and unreal. The world abounds in testimonies given to please and charm for the moment and to exalt self. Your testimony is of a different character. It is to come down to the minutiae of life, keeping the feeble faith from dying and pressing home upon believers the necessity of shining as lights in the world. {5T 667.3}
The testimonies of the Spirit of Prophecy are not going to be glossy material. They are not going to be unreal. They are going to speak in a manner that will not please and exalt self. It is going to come down to the minute details of God’s knowledge for us. We want to capture once more that this is the action of God’s love in giving us these messages. It is a love letter sent from God. It is there to help us to stand in the day of God to confirm us. Look at the people who are going to be standing in that day. God’s love for his people to stand like this. The winds of strife have been held back for these people to survive. They were expressed as John was asked who are these people.
Revelation 7:13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? 14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.
Here is this company who have come out of these last days and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the lamb. They have been made blameless through the testimony of Jesus.
Revelation 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here [are] they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
Notice how close to the proximity of the coming of Jesus they are.
Revelation 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed [are] the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them. 14 And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud [one] sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.
Here are the people just prior to the coming of Jesus. They are identified as the patients of the saints. They keep the commandments of God and have the faith of Jesus. They have come about from the wonderful work of God’s love. Even though they are labouring to the end for Jesus to come, they may have died along the way but there works will follow them. They will see Jesus coming in his glory. They will be raised in the special resurrection and the next event after that is indeed the coming of Jesus.
Revelation 14:5 And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.
As Sr White received the vision and she was caused to write them down in books, she was amazed at God’s love. She was astonished at God’s love in bringing to these people these testimonies. Sr White stands astonished as she reflects upon what the Lord has given to her for his people.
“I have been looking over the Testimonies given for Sabbathkeepers and I am astonished at the mercy of God and His care for His people in giving them so many warnings, pointing out their dangers, and presenting before them the exalted position which He would have them occupy. If they would keep themselves in His love and separate from the world, He would cause His special blessings to rest upon them and His light to shine round about them. {5T 662.2}
If they would keep themselves in his love. She was astonished at his mercy and love in caring for his people in showing them their dangers as they are living at the end of time.
Their influence for good might be felt in every branch of the work and in every part of the gospel field. But if they fail to meet the mind of God, if they continue to have so little sense of the exalted character of the work as they have had in the past, their influence and example will prove a terrible curse. They will do harm and only harm. {5T 662.2}
Here we see Gods amazing love that he is giving to his people so that they can survive.
“The Lord reproves and corrects the people who profess to keep His law. He points out their sins and lays open their iniquity because He wishes to separate all sin and wickedness from them, that they may perfect holiness in His fear. . . . God rebukes, reproves, and corrects them, that they may be refined, sanctified, elevated, and finally exalted to His own throne.” [VOL. 2, PP. 452, 453 (1870).] {5T 662.1}
I’ve often been picked up by people who say, ‘you’re trying to tell the people that they would be together with God as part of the Godhead, isn’t that going too far?’ It says they will be exalted to his own throne. We are going to be heirs of God. Isn’t that love? Isn’t that an astonishing kind of love that God the majesty of the universe wants to elevate you to his throne? How is he going to do it? He is going to work through His testimonies. He is going to have warn, rebuke and correct us so that will identify the things that are preventing us from being able to sit on His throne. By identifying them we can release ourselves through the gospel of Jesus Christ from those things. There is also unity that we might be one as He is one and sit on His throne which is the Father’s throne. This is the reason for the testimonies in Gods great love.
God designs that His people shall be a unit, that they shall see eye to eye and be of the same mind and of the same judgment. This cannot be accomplished without a clear, pointed, living testimony in the church. {3T 361.3}
How is He going to bring us into unity? By He himself speaking through the testimony of Jesus to give clear pointed testimonies. When we know that it is Jesus speaking, we will all become as they say in the world around us, look like a company of tin soldiers. Of course but we are not tin soldiers, we are soldiers of Christ and we will do just what our leader says and that is the way this concept is conveyed to us. The reality is that from 1844 to the end God is working this way and that leaves us very little time now doesn’t it? Such a little time. What does God propose to do with such little time left? For his remnant people, the last people on earth what will He do?
Romans 9:27 Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:
He is speaking of the 144,000
Romans 9:28 For he will finish the work, and cut [it] short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth. 29 And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha.
The whole world is plunging into a state of Sodom and Gomorrah and if the Lord hadn’t done this work, there would be everybody like that but there would be a little remnant. How will he do it? He will finish the work and cut it short in righteousness.
The day is at hand. For the lessons to be learned, the work to be done, the transformation of character to be effected, the time remaining is but too brief a span. {Ed 184.2}
The work of sanctification is how long? The work of a lifetime. The Lord is going to cut short his work and for those living prior to the coming of Jesus which is us, the message has been going for a long time, what was written back there is even more intense and what others have had years learning as they have had a lifetime, we are now in the last generation and this last generation does not have a lifetime of sanctification. God will cut short his work. What does that mean?
I saw that those who of late have embraced the truth would have to know what it is to suffer for Christ’s sake, that they would have trials to pass through that would be keen and cutting, in order that they may be purified and fitted through suffering to receive the seal of the living God, pass through the time of trouble, see the King in His beauty, and dwell in the presence of God and of pure, holy angels. {EW 67.1}
We are going to have a place on Gods throne and God is going to cut short his work and complete His work quickly. What will they have to suffer? Trials, keen and cutting for that purpose to get there.
Said the angel, “Deny self; ye must step fast.” Some of us have had time to get the truth and to advance step by step, and every step we have taken has given us strength to take the next. But now time is almost finished, and what we have been years learning, they will have to learn in a few months. They will also have much to unlearn and much to learn again. {EW 67.2}
The human nature shrinks form this but as we read, God will cut his work short in righteousness. God loves us so much he has given the testimony of Jesus and it helps us grow fast. We will say thank you God. God is going to step in and do it fast. See the powerful appeal here that we would take hold of His love in these messages.
he testimonies of His Spirit that would bring them to His Word. Instead of beginning with their own hearts and coming into harmony with the pure principles of the gospel, they find fault and condemn the very means that God has chosen to fit up a people to stand in the day of the Lord.–MS 1, 1883. (1SM 45.) {2MCP 678.1}
This it the design He had in giving us testimonies to fit us up to make changes rapidly. Therefore, do we not see we should keep ourselves in the love of God that we should love those testimonies? Here is the reason for the love of those testimonies. They are so sharp and cutting and they teach us to change our lives when we feel so comfortable in our lifestyle and he is going to work fast so we can have place with Him on His throne. What a love we should have for those testimonies. Every one of us are in this situation or nearly. Sr White rebuked a sister publically in the church and this sister was squirming and she came back to Sr White and said you’ve done wrong to open me up before the congregation. Sr White said to her I’ve only spoken to you that which everyone else can already see. Her husband rebuked Sr White on the terms of what Matthew said in regards to taking the problem to your brother alone. Br White quoted Timothy;
1 Timothy 5:20 Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.
He said that text is applicable to this sister.
She did not know herself, and could not properly judge of her own words and acts. This is in a degree true of nearly all, hence the necessity of faithful reproofs in the church and the cultivation by all its members of love for the plain testimony. {2T 14.3}
Why should we have a love for the plain testimony? Because God is preparing us to sit on His throne and He is cutting short His work in righteousness as we all to a degree us do not understand our own words and acts. That is an indictment to my pride isn’t it? I know what I’m doing, I understand my actions. The Lord understands very well that we don’t and so in His love He communicates through His church and His messenger and reveals to us the things that mar our life. This is the love of God in this time of judgement. He is examining us and showing us where we are blind to our wrongs. Because I don’t know myself and see my wrongs, I should say thank you Lord for showing me. As I realise the Lord is showing me this, I should take the gospel of Jesus Christ and by beholding Him I will be changed. In consequence of God’s love in giving us the testimonies, God’s people are identified in Revelation 7;
Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Here they are, they keep the commandments of God. They stand there as they have the testimony of Jesus Christ. They stand there as Gods remnant people. As they stand there, what is revealed? While Satan is angry with the church, he is doing what? He is raging war with the remnant of her seed. These people who have the testimony of Jesus that is showing them their wrongs so that they can right them and correct themselves and stand before God without fault. Isn’t Satan angry to have a people stand on earth who can be like that? Wouldn’t he throw a spanner in the works to prevent such a people from finally getting there? He is very much angry and he is going to create war against those people. The revelation of the Spirit of Prophecy against those people is very powerful. I was in a struggle with Sr White writings that they were too sharp on me and I preferred to put them away and I was severely tested whether she was a messenger of God or not. It was the following revelation that convinced me that she was not of the devil as the devil would never unveil himself like she unveiled him. If she was of the devil she wouldn’t have written like this;
If the veil which separates the visible from the invisible world could be lifted, and the people of God could behold the great controversy that is going on between Christ and holy angels and Satan and his evil hosts concerning the redemption of man; if they could understand the wonderful work of God for the rescue of souls from the bondage of sin, and the constant exercise of His power for their protection from the malice of the evil one, they would be better prepared to withstand the devices of Satan. Their minds would be solemnized in view of the vast extent and importance of the plan of redemption and the greatness of the work before them as colaborers with Christ. They would be humbled, yet encouraged, knowing that all heaven is interested in their salvation. {CCh 350.1}
If the veil could be turned aside and we could see Satan’s fury and the battle of our souls and the angels of heaven, we would be humbled and encouraged. Oh that we could get a view of this. As you study God’s word you will. I’ve seen it and it’s frightening and encouraging because Satan has so many wiles and we can see him at work when we have our eyes are open. Because Satan is really working hard and really angry with those that have the testimony of Jesus, the love of God is needed even more now than ever before because these people who have the testimony of Jesus, Satan is more angry at them and creating war. We need to understand his devices. As Satan is levelling his total attention at them, would it not stand to reason that his warfare would be levelled at the means to render them ready? He knows they have the testimony of Jesus so all those books written and everybody can read them and we are to apply them, what would Satan do to prevent us from reading these testimonies? Wouldn’t he really create war on that very level? That is exactly what we are informed of.
It is Satan’s special object to prevent this light from coming to the people of God, who so greatly need it amid the perils of these last days. {5T 667.2}
We need the testimony of Jesus. It is Satan’s special object to prevent the testimonies coming to the people of God. Satan is angry. He is making war and God loves us so much he has extra special love toward us to survive Satan’s special object. Satan’s disastrous attack on the Spirit of Prophecy so it won’t succeed to do its work on our lives;
This is why Satan is so constantly pressing in the spurious– to lead away from the truth. {2SM 78.1}
The very last deception of Satan will be to make of none effect the testimony of the Spirit of God. ” {2SM 78.2}
That will be his last development. You can just about see the step by step process of how Satan is trying to block the way in what God is trying to do for us.
“Where there is no vision, the people perish” (Proverbs 29:18). Satan will work ingeniously, in different ways and through different agencies, to unsettle the confidence of God’s remnant people in the true testimony. {2SM 78.2}
How important it is to discover what his ingenious ways are.
There will be a hatred kindled against the testimonies which is satanic. The workings of Satan will be to unsettle the faith of the churches in them, for this reason: Satan cannot have so clear a track to bring in his deceptions and bind up souls in his delusions if the warnings and reproofs and counsels of the Spirit of God are heeded.– Letter 40, 1890. {1SM 48.4}
If you are heeding the warnings of the testimonies, Satan who is trying to bind you up in his delusions will have a much harder time. So what must he do? He’s got to do something to twist these testimonies up for you so you will say I don’t want them anymore, they just create too much trouble. That is what he wants. I’ve been through it in my own life and with many people who’ve turned against Sr Whites writings. Pay close attention to this insidious behaviour of Satan amongst his people. How will Satan work to make the testimonies of Jesus fail in its objective? There are two methods;
1. To enter into contention over the pointed rebukes and messages of the testimonies. You will be led to contend over them.
2. He will work on human perfectionism.
We are poised now to seek to understand how Satan will work to make the testimony of Jesus ugly so you don’t love them anymore. The testimonies of Jesus have been given for the purpose of bringing us into unity.
God would have His people disciplined and brought into harmony of action, that they may see eye to eye and be of the same mind and of the same judgment. In order to bring about this state of things, there is much to be done. The carnal heart must be subdued and transformed. God designs that there shall ever be a living testimony in the church. It will be necessary to reprove and exhort, and some will need to be rebuked sharply, (Do you like being rebuked sharply?) as the case demands. We hear the plea: “Oh, I am so sensitive, I cannot bear the least reflection!” If these persons would state the case correctly, they would say: “I am so self-willed, so self-sufficient, so proud-spirited, that I will not be dictated to; I will not be reproved. I claim the right of individual judgment; I have a right to believe and talk as I please.” The Lord would not have us yield up our individuality. But what man is a proper judge of how far this matter of individual independence should be carried? {3T 360.2}
There is a source that Satan can use ever so easily can’t he? Some will demand in the church ‘I am not going to take these sharp rebukes that is someone’s opinion.’ With some not liking that notice what they will do;
“There are some in —– who have never fully submitted to reproof. They have taken a course of their own choosing. They have ever, to a greater or less degree, exerted an influence against those who have stood up to defend the right and reprove the wrong. The influence of these persons upon individuals who come here and who are brought in contact with them . . . is very bad. They fill the minds of these newcomers with questionings and doubts in regard to the Testimonies of the Spirit of God. They put false constructions upon the Testimonies; and instead of leading persons to become consecrated to God and to listen to the voice of the church, they teach them to be independent and not to mind the opinions and judgment of others. The influence of this class has been secretly at work. Some are unconscious of the harm they are doing; but, unconsecrated, proud, and rebellious themselves, they lead others in the wrong track. A poisonous atmosphere is inhaled from these unconsecrated ones. The blood of souls is in the garments of such, and Christ will say to them in the day of final settlement: ‘Depart from Me, all ye workers of iniquity.’ {5T 673.1}
They first become anti the fact they have been rebuked and then they turn against the testimonies and put a false construction on them. What is the baleful result?
There will be those who will misinterpret and misrepresent. Their eyes have been blinded, and they set forth the figures and interpretations that Satan has worked out for them, and an entirely wrong meaning will be placed upon the words that Sister White has spoken. {1SM 57.3}
Can you see how Satan has managed to do that? He turns upon the statements and misconstrues them through these agents and an entirely wrong meaning will be put on the writings of Sr White.
Satan is just as verily claiming to be Christ’s child as did Judas, who was on the accusing side. They have educated themselves in Satan’s school of misstating. A description of them is given in the third chapter of Zechariah. Nothing in the world is so dear to God as His church. Satan has worked upon human minds, and will continue to betray sacred trust in a spurious way. {1SM 57.3}
Judas was among the disciples accusing Jesus. When Jesus had said the things in John chapters 6, 7 and 8 and the seventy left him, from that time onwards Judas heart rankled inside of him and he began to step back and watch. As he stepped back to watch he found all the negatives he could find against Jesus Christ. That is exactly how Satan does it with the testimony of Jesus today. He will come as a child of Christ just like Judas but with a different twist on Sr Whites writings. How easily it is to twist a person’s words and put a motive on their speaking.
Satan is on the alert; and some who in the past have been used by the Lord in doing His work, but who have permitted themselves to be deceived, will be stirred up to make an improper use of the messages given. Because they do not wish to listen to the words of reproof, because they will not hear counsel, and improve their course of action, and do their appointed work, they will misconstrue the messages to the church, and confuse many minds. {1SM 52.4}
This is the work that Satan will do so that people will have a confused understanding of the Spirit of Prophecy and I’ve seen it surrounding me. I’ve seen it all my life. I pray to God that will identify these devious methods of Satan. We now come to the second one that is less obvious. It comes from well-meaning people. These people take the Spirit of Prophecy seriously. They see the high standard, the minutiae and take counsel from these testimonies by their human judgement. Those testimonies came not from human judgement but Gods judgment. You can take Gods judgement and because of our astute past, we will take it and use it what Solomon saw in vanity. In human vanity we can take the strict minutiae detail in this way.
Ecclesiastes 7:15 All [things] have I seen in the days of my vanity: there is a just [man] that perisheth in his righteousness, and there is a wicked [man] that prolongeth [his life] in his wickedness.
7:16 Be not righteous over much; neither make thyself over wise: why shouldest thou destroy thyself?
He is talking about human wisdom taking statements from God’s word and using them from the vanity of our own human mind. In the Book Steps to Christ where there are people who are very conscientious and exacting so that they actually boost up their own good feeling. You can do that with Sr White’s writings. You can make yourself feel holier than thou by taking those statements and being righteous over much. Remember the minutiae where God has given instruction right down to the little details? As he gives those instructions right down to those details, somebody will take it from his human desire of reaching a good sense of his achievements. From that motive he is like a Pharisee being very detailed. Remember what Jesus said about the Pharisees? You tithe in mint and anise but leave the loftier things undone. These you should have done but not left the others undone. The minutiae are important but don’t leave the other undone which is mercy, love which they left undone. We see a human taking of Gods testimonies for the last days.
Some expressions that were written to you, you had taken in altogether too strong a light. And after reading them carefully again, you said they did not appear to you as they had, and everything was reconciled. You stated after this interview that you felt you had never before known what conversion was, but that you had been born again, converted for the first time. You could say you loved your brethren, your heart was light and happy; you saw the sacredness of the work as you had never seen it before; and your letters expressed the deep change wrought in you by the Spirit of God. {5T 622.1}
Notice how Satan succeeds with these kinds of people. What is Satan’s device for this kind of situation?
When the mind dwells upon self, it is turned away from Christ, the source of strength and life. Hence it is Satan’s constant effort to keep the attention diverted from the Saviour and thus prevent the union and communion of the soul with Christ. The pleasures of the world, life’s cares and perplexities and sorrows, the faults of others, or your own faults and imperfections–to any or all of these he will seek to divert the mind. {SC 71.2}
How will he use Sr whites statements for that? Will he not use Sr Whites minutiae statements and draw your attention to yourself through those statements?
Christ will be most earnest and active in labor for Him. {SC 71.1}
Many who are really conscientious, and who desire to live for God, he too often leads to dwell upon their own faults and weaknesses, and thus by separating them from Christ he hopes to gain the victory. {SC 71.2}
What a sly way Satan works. The beautiful testimonies of Jesus are used by Satan to so condemn you that you feel totally bereft of any hope but those statements were not given by Satan but Jesus and they were not given for that purpose. They were given for you to see the evil of sin that you are part of and now he wants you to look to Jesus as He gave those statements. He wants you to look to him as He is a wonderful loving Saviour and He wants you to see your wrongs and flee into his arms but Satan comes along and turns your attention to yourself through her writings. Through the natural consequence of doing that what will happen? Sr White says do not be misled by his devices. He is going to use Sr Whites writings by this device to make them ugly in front of many people. With such a twist observe the next manifestation. This is how Satan tries to destroy the remnant people.
Love for one another has disappeared, and a faultfinding, accusing spirit has prevailed. It has been considered a virtue to hunt up everything about one another that looked wrong, and make it appear fully as bad as it really was. {1T 164.2}
You can use Sr Whites writings very well for that can’t we as every little detail has been laid out so we can start using her writings in this manner and that what they did.
…picking at everything bearing the appearance of wrong, until the noble feelings of the soul are withered. The mind should be elevated to dwell upon eternal scenes, heaven, its treasures, its glories, and should take sweet and holy satisfaction in the truths of the Bible. {1T 164.2}
…the brethren and sisters in New York can rise is for each to attend to his own individual case, and set his own heart in order. If sin is plain in a brother, breathe it not to another, but with love for the brother’s soul, with a heart full of compassion, with bowels of mercy, tell him the wrong, then leave the matter with him and the Lord. You have discharged your duty. You are not to pass sentence. {1T 165.1}
Sr Whites writings can be used to pass sentence. We are not to use her statements to make rules and sentences in the church.
The intentions of some may be very good; they may confess; yet I saw that they are watched with suspicion, and are made offenders for a word, until they have no liberty, no salvation. They dare not act out the simple feelings of the heart, because they are watched. It is God’s pleasure that His people should fear Him, and have confidence before one another. {1T 165.4}
I saw that many have taken advantage of what God has shown in regard to the sins and wrongs of others. They have taken the extreme meaning of what has been shown in vision, and then have pressed it until it has had a tendency to weaken the faith of many in what God has shown, and also to discourage and dishearten the church. With tender compassion should brother deal with brother. Delicately should he deal with feelings. {1T 166.1}
When I read this statement I thought such and such has done that and you tend to do the same thing with this statement, you have done wrong. What I have read so that you can see it in another person. You are doing the very thing that the New Yorkers did. When we read something in the Spirit of Prophecy, what was it written for? It was written that we should attend to his our individual case and set his our heart in order. We have just seen how my own heart can play tricks on me how Satan will take Sr white statement that I will turn my attention to myself and turn your eyes away from Jesus. I used to do it. It is like a dog chasing its tail. Why? Because we are being righteous over much from a human righteous stand point. But when we look at it as it is in Jesus then we will see all those sharp rebukes and we will see them in the wonderful love God intended them to bring me right to help my brothers and sisters with compassion.
If you see a brother overcome in a fault breathe it not to another let alone speak about it. We are all concentrating on listening to Jesus for myself so I can do it right but not because my human self wants to do it but because Jesus is showing me where I’m wrong. In that process I will be careful in regards to my fellow man. In the church we will keep lifting up Jesus to another. God help us to embrace the great love of God in these testimonies and that will we love the testimonies rather than become disheartened about them as the testimonies didn’t do that, it was Satan that did it. Satan is angry, he is making war against his people and he is using Sr Whites statement to destroy his church. Will you let him or take counsel of God’s word to take joy in the fellowship of Gods people to focus on what I have to do? My work is to share with you the testimonies. My work is to preach God’s word to you in all its simplicity and I’ve sought to do that. At times I have made sharp statements but I have not levelled them at nobody. If some is going astray I have to visit these souls and help them discover what is written in the Spirit of Prophecy, that is my work. I sometimes wish I would be laid off that work. When we are told by God’s word what is the problem and it strikes directly at my heart, say thank you God I love you for sharing it with me so I can correct my life. God help us to take hold of those pointed testimonies and heed 2 Corinthians.
2 Corinthians 10:12 For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.
Righteous Over Much
When you are righteous over much with attention upon yourself and actions in obeying the Spirit of Prophecy you will begin to commend yourself in your own mind and you will begin to look upon on others not living up to the standards and you will begin to commend yourself and compare yourself among yourselves. God grant us to see this and to beware of the devices of Satan. They are his devices and how many have become hurt under those devices and they then think a particular person has been the enemy that has done that when it is actually the devil and we can have compassion for one another because we can see how easy it can happen to me. I can be so contentious and I can lose my sight of Jesus and I can become a harsh obedient person to everything Sr White says and I’ve lost Jesus. When that happens in our ranks we must have compassion on one another because this soul has actually been trapped by Satan’s devices. If we can fine tune to this understanding that the veil has been parted and we can see how Satan actually works, my heart rejoices that Sr White has been given so that I can accept her as this wonderful messenger of the Lord. You have no idea how precious this is to me because this is what saved me from throwing her out the door because Satan was so unveiled. I have done my utmost to help you see what Satan is doing to destroy the beautiful impact of the Spirit of Prophecy. May God grant us the determination to resist these devices and by understanding them do it ourselves, don’t worry about the other person. Just do it yourself and the wonderful joy of salvation will permeate in our life. God grant us this.
Amen.
