When the Trial We Feared Happens

By John Thiel, mp3, pdf

Scripture reading: 1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God [is] faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear [it].

I love the words of Jesus to His disciples when He came to them after they had been without Him for a while; He said to them, Fear not. When we come across some experience, some trial, some loss, some threatening doom, as the one which is affecting the world at this present time; when we come across the storms of the last days, then it is that we must hear the voice of the Spirit, saying to us, Fear not. God’s Comfort in Grief

By John Thiel, mp3, pdf

Scripture reading: Isaiah 53:4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

What is grieving? What does it mean to suffer grief? What actually is it in experience? The dictionary brings forth this definition: an abject depravity of comfort and consolation. This is what grief is. Nothing comforts you because the sensations that come across the chest, across the soul, are connected with something, someone that we have lost. Some internal ideal that gave us motive for living has been shattered in our experience. Your life support, that which has made your life worth living, has been shattered—that creates grief. God’s Love and Man’s Discouragement

By John Thiel, mp3

Scripture reading: Joshua 1:9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God [is] with thee whithersoever thou goest.

May those words be of encouragement to us as we meet the difficulties of trying to follow God, that we may take courage as Joshua was also commanded. Read the rest of this entry

The Meek of the Earth

By John Thiel, mp3

Scripture Reading: Psalm 25:8-9 Good and upright [is] the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way. The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.

May God guide us in our understanding of these Scriptures that we may learn what it means to be the meek of the earth.

“Breathe on me , Breath of God until with Thee I will one will to do and to endure. Breathe on me until I am wholly Thine, until this earthly part of me glows with Thy fire divine.”

Are we prepared to tune into that prayer from the heart in all reality?

Revelation 6:17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

Misusing the Testimonies of God’s Love

By John Thiel
In our last study ‘Gods Letters of Love through the Spirit of Prophecy’, there were letters that didn’t sound like love. They were very sharp and cutting and we saw that we must understand that the one who is speaking to us in those letters is the one who has great love and compassion for us and we can make a correct conclusion from those statements. Indeed it is possible to misuse the testimonies of God’s love. We saw previously that God’s love to his church was demonstrated for the people living at the very end, a special love at a time when the winds of strife are let loose. They are being held back as God’s people are not all sealed and they would not be able to survive through those terrible times. To assist in this work of being sealed for that terrible time we read 1 Corinthians:

Unity in the Cause of Elijah

By John Thiel

Isaiah 60:1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. 2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

God will give this planet the spirit of Elijah.  We examine it was not Elijah himself, but the Elijah people who shall see the coming of the son of man.  was Jesus standing with two men one on each side.  Who were they?  Moses and Elijah.  Did that not mean the coming of Jesus with his saints? Moses represents those who died in the faith.  Elijah represents the 144,000, the people that will be alive at his coming.  Does Moses represent the Elijah people also?  Yes.

Everything we have studied hails back to everything in the beginning, the old paths.  The Elijah people who are proclaiming the old paths, is it not the same as the beginning where you see Jacob, Abraham and Moses?  All the different historical events speak of the message of Elijah.  Whether the people are represented by Moses or Elijah what do they all represent by the messages that Elijah represents?  The people of Elijah are all the faithful people.  They have given the messages to the world. Restoring Old Paths

By John Thiel

The Elijah people are to announce the restoration of old paths. How is the God we worship addressed? What is the description of him in the bible?

Daniel 7:9 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment [was] white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne [was like] the fiery flame, [and] his wheels [as] burning fire.

Who is the God we worship? The ancient of days. We want to ask him, what are the paths? What is the way? Teach me thy way O Lord. What is he going to teach us? The old paths, paths to dwell in. He is the ancient of days.

Habakkuk 3:6 He stood, and measured the earth: he beheld, and drove asunder the nations; and the everlasting mountains were scattered, the perpetual hills did bow: his ways [are] everlasting.

We are living in the world today where people are very restless. People are looking for change all the time. We go into a shopping centre and we see goods stacked in one way then a month later, it’s all different. People change their household activities as they ever want change. We need to get used to things if we are going to live with him in eternity. His paths to dwell in are always the same. He is a rock but because we who have fallen into sinful ways, especially in these last days, man has deteriorated into lifestyles that are ingrained.

Isaiah 55:6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: 7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. 8 For my thoughts [are] not your thoughts, neither [are] your ways my ways, saith the LORD. 9 For [as] the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. The Elijah Message

By John Thiel

Zephaniah 2:1 Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation not desired; 2 Before the decree bring forth, [before] the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD come upon you, before the day of the LORD’S anger come upon you. 3 Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD’S anger.

We are called upon to prepare for the Sabbath. We should be preparing for the coming of the Lord Jesus. Once the Sabbath is come, you can’t prepare for it anymore. We are reminded during the week to prepare. We are getting near the end and sometimes along the way and people fall away because it gets too hard. We look with sorrow at that. Let us lift up our heart and voice in expression of gratitude. First with the word Ebenezer. It means herewith the Lord has helped us.

Psalm 117:1 O Praise the LORD, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people.

I look forward to that day when they crown him Lord of Lords. Their joy will be unsullied by negative experiences. We can already look forward to that time. However it is a preparation time. Read the rest of this entry

In the Spirit of Elijah

By John Thiel

Our present message is to understand how the Elijah people will function under the spirit of Elijah.

Malachi 4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: 6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

In our previous study we came to an appreciation of how the Bible qualifies the people of Elijah at this time just before the great day of the Lord. This speaks of the time we now live.

Mathew 24:44 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. 43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. 44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. 45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his Lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?  46 Blessed [is] that servant, whom his Lord when he cometh shall find so doing. 47 Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
