Declaration of Faith

  1. We accept all of the Bible as the inspired word of God and take it as our only rule of faith. It is our purpose ever to walk according to its teachings.

  2. We have received the Lord Jesus Christ as our personal Saviour for salvation from sin, for a real change of heart, and we choose to have Him live in us daily by the Holy Spirit.

  3. We engage in repentance and confession of all known sin to God, and it is our faith to believe that He for Christ’s sake forgives us. It is our resolve to try and make all matters right wherein we have fallen out with our fellow human beings.

  4. It is our purpose, by the grace of God, to live a truly Christian life, by surrendering all – soul, body, and spirit – to God, to do His will in all things and keep all the commandments of God.

  5. To maintain a true spiritual experience, we recognise the need of the daily study of God’s word, and prayer. Also, we endeavour by our consistent life and personal effort to win souls to Christ.

  6. Our belief is based upon the great truths of the word of God concerning the personal, visible, literal, imminent return of Christ; the unconscious state of the dead; the destruction of the wicked, and other kindred truths that comprise the special messages of Revelation 14:6-12.

  7. It is our purpose to keep the seventh day of the week, from Friday sunset to Saturday sunset, as the Lord’s day, according to the fourth commandment.

  8. It is our practice to follow the Bible plan for the support of God’s work by rendering unto Him first the tithe, or one tenth of all our increase, and then offerings as we are able according to His prospering hand.

  9. We respond to the command to eat and drink to the glory of God. We embrace the instructions on health reform and are willing to follow the light which the Lord has given on this matter – including abstaining from all intoxicating liquors, tobacco in all its forms, flesh meats, narcotics, tea, coffee, and other harmful things.

  10. There are rules we follow on modesty and simplicity of dress, refraining from the wearing of earrings, necklaces, bracelets, beads, rings, makeup, etc., and from any dress out of keeping with the Bible rule of modesty.

  11. We practise Christ’s directive in the ordinance of humility in the washing of one another’s feet in connection with the ordinance of the Lord’s Supper.

  12. It is our purpose to come out from the world and separate, in obedience to God’s command in 2 Corinthians 6:17, by refraining from following the sinful practices of the world, such as dancing, card playing, theatre going, novel reading, etc., and shunning all questionable worldly amusements.

  13. We are a church and conduct Sabbath services, prayer meetings, and church business meetings. All members seek to build up the church by attending these meetings, and do their part, with God’s help, in the work of the church.

  14. We regard the writings of Ellen G. White as given by the Spirit of God and follow them as the Spirit of Prophecy, the Testimony of Jesus.

  15. As Christians, we believe we should have no part in warfare or bloodshed and therefore refrain from all military services. We regards ourselves as ambassadors of the kingdom of Jesus Christ and therefore do not enter into any politics of this world and refrain from voting at elections. But as such, we will live obediently under the laws of the governments we are under where these do not conflict with God’s laws.

  16. We believe that, according to God’s word, marriage to one partner is a lifelong covenant, and that only death should sever this bond.

  17. We believe in the original platform of truth established by the early Seventh-day Adventist church and practise the ordinance of baptism. We believe that by this ordinance, converts enter the body of Christ and unite with all who wish to stand on that original platform.

  18. We also believe that to stand unitedly upon that platform, we sever all connection with worldly organisations, such as labour unions, secret societies, as well as all other church organisations.

  19. We refrain from all lordship tactics of control over each other and understand that baptism by immersion means a freewill, personal covenant to be under the authority of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, the Father, and the Holy Spirit. We believe the declaration of the Bible that this is the Godhead.
