7. The Power of Godly Thinking

By John Thiel, Let This Mind Be in You Conference, Study 7, mp3

Proverbs 4:21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 4:22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

We are living in the time of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in the last moments of earth’s history and as we are under this outpouring, we want to be aware and co-operating with that.

Proverbs 4:20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22 For they [are] life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. 23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it [are] the issues of life. 24 Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee. 25 Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.

Who is speaking? It is the Holy Spirit.

Deuteronomy 32:1 Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth. 2 My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass: 3 Because I will publish the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness unto our God. 4 [He is] the Rock, his work [is] perfect: for all his ways [are] judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right [is] he. 5 They have corrupted themselves, their spot [is] not [the spot] of his children: [they are] a perverse and crooked generation. 6 Do ye thus requite the LORD, O foolish people and unwise? [is] not he thy father [that] hath bought thee? hath he not made thee, and established thee? 7 Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will show thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee.

The Holy Spirit speaks of our rock and the words that we are to pay attention to and take into to our hearts to incline our ear to. Where do you go for the assurance of perfect truth? Is it not to Him who has created us? What is the Holy Spirit telling us to do? Incline your ear. His words are more than mere information. Much study is weariness of the flesh. His thoughts are not our thoughts, go to the old ways, ask your fathers.

Jeremiah 6:16 Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where [is] the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls.

Is this present truth for us today? How much do we need this in these modern times of the increase of knowledge while wisdom is very rare? The wisdom of the old ways is so rare in this time of great information.

…no one should set himself as a critic to measure the usefulness and influence of his brother, who has had few advantages in obtaining book knowledge. He may be rich in a rarer wisdom. He may have a practical education in the knowledge of the truth. Says the psalmist, {RH, April 17, 1888 par. 13}

What is true knowledge? Practical knowledge.

Says the psalmist, The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple. It is not the mere reading of the word, not a theoretical knowledge of the Scriptures, that gives this light and understanding to the simple. {RH, April 17, 1888 par. 13}

How much reading do we do outside of the Bible and we get so much information but this is not the wisdom or understanding that the Holy Spirit is speaking of?

Had this been the case, Jesus would not have said to the Jews, Ye know not the Scriptures, neither the power of God. The wisdom spoken of by the psalmist is that which is attained when the truth is opened to the mind and applied to the heart by Spirit of God;. {RH, April 17, 1888 par. 13}

Didn’t they know the scriptures? The Pharisees knew them through and through but Jesus said you know not the scriptures.

The wisdom spoken of by the psalmist is that which is attained when the truth is opened to the mind and applied to the heart by Spirit of God; when its principles are wrought into the character by a life of practical godliness. {RH, April 17, 1888 par. 13}

Then you have a rare wisdom.

Through a connection with God the Christian will have clearer and broader views, unbiased by his own preconceived opinions. His discernment will be more penetrative, his judgment more balanced and far-seeing. His understanding, summoned to effort, has been exercised in contemplating exalted truths, and as he obtains heavenly knowledge he better understands his own weakness, and grows in humility and faith. {RH, April 17, 1888 par. 13}

What do we need? Information? We need information but we need it in connection with the God who knows all things and the Christian who is in connection with God will have clearer, broader views unbiased by his preconceived opinions.

His discernment will be more penetrative, his judgment more balanced and far-seeing. His understanding, summoned to effort, has been exercised in contemplating exalted truths, and as he obtains heavenly knowledge he better understands his own weakness, and grows in humility and faith. {RH, April 17, 1888 par. 13}

Go to your fathers. How many young people have said they are behind the times? How many are even holding the thought I can tell my fathers a thing or two? In this time of great knowledge we read:

Daniel 12:3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. 4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, [even] to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. 9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words [are] closed up and sealed till the time of the end. 10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

The Purification of the Furnace in these Last Days

The wisdom that is gained not merely by reading the theoretical knowledge but by the enlargement of what you are reading that is given by the Holy Spirit through a personal humble relationship with God.

There is the rare wisdom that can see things more broadly than the PHD man who you go to investigate the knowledge they have. What are the PHD men? Post hole diggers. Why is that name given them? They are centering on just one hole into the truth. They don’t have the broad vision that only God can give because in this story of this understanding, we do not need a university degree. The simple can outwit the degrees. In this world of brain storming madness, what is the wisdom of the Holy Spirit at this time?

You are a young man of intelligence; you desire to make your life such as will fit you for heaven at last. You are often discouraged at finding yourself weak in moral power, in slavery to doubt, and controlled by the habits and customs of your old life in sin. You find your emotional nature untrue to yourself, to your best resolutions, and to your most solemn pledges. {5T 513.2}

Where do we get best resolutions and solemn pledges from? I can see this is right and we say, I want to do it and we make a pledge and we fall flat on our face. There is more to take in. Because when that happens and you have all this information and you can’t take this information in by gaining victories properly, nothing seems real.

Nothing seems real. Your own instability leads you to doubt the sincerity of those who would do you good. The more you struggle in doubt, the more unreal everything looks to you, until it seems that there is no solid ground for you anywhere. Your promises are like ropes of sand, and you regard in the same unreal light the words and works of those in whom you should trust. {5T 513.2}

You are swimming in a sea of uncertainty.

But you need not despair. You must be determined to believe, although nothing seems true and real to you. I need not tell you it is you yourself that has brought you into this unenviable position. You must win back your confidence in God and in your brethren. It is for you to yield up your will to the will of Jesus Christ; and as you do this, God will immediately take possession and work in you to will and to do of His good pleasure. {5T 513.4}

When you do that, it will be contrary to the way you feel. You can’t rely on your feelings anymore or impressions. You have to rely on a simple untried word of God. That is like Jesus saying to Apostle Peter, come and walk on the water to me. Of course he did but he looked away from Jesus and down he went. What was required was to believe on the word of Jesus.

We today have to learn to walk on the water as the world is like a troubled sea and we have to walk around it. Jesus is walking on the stormy water today and He says, walk to me on that brain stormy water. Where was the battle; in the realm of where? In the realm of the thoughts. That is where the real battle is. I have often done my head in thinking of it. My head is in contortions and everything around me is peaceful and the Lords asks me why. The battle is in the mind and the Lord wants to give us peace.

We often create trouble. Man creates trouble in nature because of his nature. The mind is the problem and the mind is to be disciplined, educated and trained. Not in school, not in university, not in the mere reading of the word or gaining of information, it is to be trained and disciplined by the Holy Spirit. What is the mind trained to do?

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things.

In my nurses training and the knowledge I gained, I had no rest of mind because when I studied disease in nursing, you have to be the kind person who does not become a hypochondriac because of all your knowing.

The Lord said to me don’t think about the diseases around you. Don’t think of all the information of all you know as that will only confuse you. Let me be the interpreter of everything you have learnt. If I wouldn’t have done that, I wouldn’t be here and I wouldn’t be doing counselling the way I have. You’ve not been through what I’ve been through. I’ve had years of walking with Jesus more than many here but not merely information, but walking with Jesus. Go to fathers. I went to my fathers the pioneers and I was brought out of terrible confusions and realised I’m just a young upstart in Adventism. I am a young upstart compared to Abraham and Jacob. I do not have the long years of experience they had and therefore I must place myself under my fathers like each one of you have to. This will help you to know what this means. If it’s true but it’s not lovely, if its honest but it’s not just, if it’s pure but it’s confusing, don’t think about it.

The package of what you are reading must be practised as a whole. If it’s true, honest, just, pure, lovely and good report. That rules out everything else. We are not to think about that. Don’t be anxious about anything. How many times we become anxious, don’t think about it.

Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Let God be the answer to all my questionings. What does it mean to keep your mind? It means to stop it from going insane. It means that you will not become a hypochondriac and paranoid. The battlefield is in the mind and the answer is the word of the Holy Spirit.

The Power of Positive Thinking

Upon this foundation of the power of positive thinking lies the psycharatrist foundation to help their patients but God doesn’t want us to go to a psychiatrist and psychologists because the patients I looked after called them brain benders. They bent their imagination into all sorts of contortions.

Jeremiah 23:16 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, [and] not out of the mouth of the LORD.

The imagination will have an effect on your body and will create disease. The imagination of our own heart, the polluting reality of the brain, the heart that is enmity with God. Oh it will be well with you, just do this and do that, follow my counsel and you will be fine. The world is going downhill and under all their counsel. They do not know and they despise the Lord and they think that they’ve got the right answers and we want to tap out of their information? Man’s science has discovered in the study of the mind that you need the power of positive thinking but you don’t need university degrees to practice this.

Knowledge puffs up and what are these people out there? They are the prophets of Baal. Paganism isn’t ignorant. They have come up with all sorts of intelligent sciences but they are the prophets of Baal.

Jeremiah 23:16 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, [and] not out of the mouth of the LORD.

That’s not out of the mouth of the Lord.

Jeremiah 23:17 They say still unto them that despise me, The LORD hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.

He will give wisdom to the simple, not degrees.

Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.

This you don’t need a university degree for. The word of God tells you, what you think in your mind will be transferred to actions and it gives much greater in visual understanding of this and that they can tell you out there.

Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

If you imagine something in your mind and ponder it long enough, it becomes you. It becomes your reality because you are pondering it long enough. The imagination has a power to create in the body the things that it is imagining. We’ve already been through that haven’t we? The pointing of the bone is just an extreme situation that when the voodoos do that, the person dies within three days. That’s how powerful the imagination is. Apply by the divine revelation, have a look of what the divine revelation has to say about that.

Words are an indication of that which is in the heart. Desire of Ages page 323.1

Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

But the words are more than an indication of character; they have power to react on the character. Men are influenced by their own words. Often under a momentary impulse, prompted by Satan, they give utterance to jealousy or evil surmising, expressing that which they do not really believe; but the expression reacts on the thoughts. They are deceived by their words, and come to believe that true which was spoken at Satan’s instigation. Having once expressed an opinion or decision, they are often too proud to retract it, and try to prove themselves in the right, until they come to believe that they are. It is dangerous to utter a word of doubt, dangerous to question and criticize divine light. The habit of careless and irreverent criticism reacts upon the character, in fostering irreverence and unbelief. Many a man indulging this habit has gone on unconscious of the danger, until he was ready to criticize and reject the work of the Holy Spirit. Desire of Ages page 323.1

How serious is this? Remember what we read right in the beginning not to criticize those who have not had learning of books but have that rare wisdom? If you do that you will be in danger of speaking ultimately against the Holy Spirit.

Jesus said every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. DA 323.1

We see very clearly here that what the man thinks in his heart he does become. Whether he puts the words there and starts thinking about them, or whether he’s been thinking about them and they come out. Our scripture reading was the word of the Holy Spirit in reference to this.

Proverbs 4:21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.

These are the things that you ponder about; these are the things that you exercise your mind about again and again and again, the words of the Holy Spirit.

Proverbs 22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

Your imagination will be fed by a perfect subject to give you health and sanity and to conquer all the diseases. He will forgive all your sins and heal all thy diseases. He can do it as you bask and embrace the words He communicates. I can testify of it. I stand here before you in health because of that.

I often puzzle over it. I hardly ever get sick and if I get sick it’s just a normal cold and when I did get sick, it was when I didn’t listen to Him. The moment that I listen to Him, yes, it took three to four years to overcome from the heart condition and it was Him that healed it, nothing else? He instructed me on some little simple things but that didn’t protect me completely. It took me four years to get rid of this nagging arrhythmia of the heart that kept on coming and filling you with worry and when your heart plays up, you have a physical anxiety and you actually have to conquer that and you can because the broad mind of our creator coming into your mind and thinking His thoughts after Him

You will achieve it. I’m here to testify of that. The Lord is at hand, rely on His word and the example of this, of listening to the word of the Lord verses the listening to the suggestions of the imaginations and the words we utter contrary to what God says, there is an example in the Bible that really shocks you that’s how powerful this is.

It tells you the consequence of negative thinking and negative speaking and its impact in an example.

The truth that as a man “thinketh in his heart, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7), finds another illustration in Israel’s experience. On the borders of Canaan the spies, returned from searching the country, made their report. The beauty and fruitfulness of the land were lost sight of through fear of the difficulties in the way of its occupation. The cities walled up to heaven, the giant warriors, the iron chariots, daunted their faith. Leaving God out of the question, the multitude echoed the decision of the unbelieving spies, “We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.” Numbers 13:31. Their words proved true. They were not able to go up, and they wore out their lives in the desert. {Ed 149.1}

Two, however, of the twelve who had viewed the land, reasoned otherwise. “We are well able to overcome it” (Numbers 13:30), they urged, counting God’s promise superior to giants, walled cities, or chariots of iron. For them their word was true. Though they shared with their brethren the forty years’ wandering, Caleb and Joshua entered the Land of Promise. As courageous of heart as when with the hosts of the Lord he set out from Egypt, Caleb asked for and received as his portion the stronghold of the giants. In God’s strength he drove out the Canaanites. The vineyards and olive groves where his feet had trodden became his possession. Though the cowards and rebels perished in the wilderness, the men of faith ate of the grapes of Eschol. {Ed 149.2}

Why? Not only because they said the Lord can do it, their own imagination took hold of it and made it a reality.

Here was this old man Caleb who outstripped the giants because of the power of Godly thinking. This we need to embrace. While book knowledge of the science of the brain is very informative and I kept on following much information that had developed over the years, the new discovery of the gene ability to do genetic engineering, I followed it all because I’m already equipped with what I learned before. I saw everything that was going on but I screened it. I ask the Lord after I did my nurse’s training to keep my mind sane and I found that His judgment was broader than the conclusions I was prone to conclude with. He is our psychologist and those who have been under Him for long years than any of us we may ask them for help.

That’s why I proposed to you and we have followed that proposal to read the books of the pioneers, the publications that were given by the pioneers in unity. There is wisdom; the mentality of these brethren is very rarely seen today. Pastor Cook a Seventh-day Adventist minister said these men were not scholars; we are to rely on the scholars of today. He was an old Adventist minister. I nearly fell through the seat. I thought you were an old minister that was still standing on the old paths and he said we’ve got to listen to the scholars as those men (the pioneers) were not scholars. Can you see the degree mentality that has affected people’s minds today? It aches the heart.

The Great Physician

Let us take a parting draft of a mind cure from a heavenly psychiatrist. We’ve touched on many different things and we have touched on theory but we’ve also gone through some understandings of experience but I want to conclude with an experience of psychology that is given from heaven. The great physician now is near, let Him touch us. This practitioner, He doesn’t just provide us with positive mental pictures.

When I was doing my nurse’s training the doctor said to the patient: Now just imagine in your mind that you are lying on a beautiful mattress on a beach on the seashore, on the water and you’re just rocking away comfortably, just imagine that and really release all your stresses. What were they told imagine? They were to imagine an unreal thing because they weren’t out there but our psychologist, psychiatrist and practitioner gives us living pictures. He supplies factual pictures and realities. Like for instance, marriage is a symbol of the heavenly family. The children of Israel’s story are an example of the God’s people going through to salvation, living realities to occupy your mind with. That is our psychologist and He says this prayer under inspiration by David that old man who had been through experiences with His Lord so he could know what he was talking about what the Lord had told Him. We are coming and asking the old man.

1 Chronicles 29:18 O LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this forever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of thy people, and prepare their heart unto thee.

He gives to us living pictures and He says now let these living pictures remain in the imagination of your heart and store them there. And as you think about them, and dwell upon them, what will happen? 1 Corinthians 2 gives us something very, very important to dwell on because the children of Israel and the marriage have to do with our Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:

We don’t believe in force do we but the love of Christ does. It constrains and compels you.

2 Corinthians 5:15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

Here you have a picture, a living picture of the death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ so that I may dwell with Him in my imagination. Your imagination is being solicited.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

In Romans he says reckon yourselves to be dead in your imagination. I’m a new creature now I’m dead to my old life. My imagination takes hold of Jesus and I go through His traumatic experience with me. I rise out of the traumatic experience to a new life. This was a reality and He wants you to imagine it. Old things had passed away, behold old things are become new.

2 Corinthians 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

He is committed to your memory, to your intelligence, to your imagination. He is the practitioner who is taking hold of Jesus and placed Him among us and by the Holy Spirit makes it a reality to my imagination and that’s exactly what the unbelievers say, you Christians are hanging on the crutch of Jesus Christ. I’d rather lean on the crutch that is solid than on the crutch that melts away because that’s what the others are doing and this crutch is the reality. Let my imagination engage in what I have just read here and if you don’t engage in it, you’re not going to recover, simple as that. The rule of psychiatric science is a fact. What you think and imagine is going to happen to you.

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Faith in itself is an act of the mind. As the mind thinketh in his heart so is he. Faith is an act of the mind that takes hold of what God says, makes it a reality in its mind just like we can make a reality of untruth a reality of the mind. And then as you put the real thing into the reality it becomes you. Occupy the mind with something that will ultimately bring the reality of the thought into practical manifestation and its Jesus and then what happens? Christ in you, the hope of glory. It becomes a reality and you walk around as representation of Jesus Christ because it’s in the mind and it becomes a physical reality. You will be both divine and human. What? Is that blasphemy? Does the Bible say you will be partakers of the divine nature? You will be divine and human if you let your imagination to dwell on it. My mind must be occupied with what is written in Hebrews 12:2-3, look upon Jesus. 2 Corinthians 3:18 says by beholding you will become changed. This is psychological fact.

These are the laws of your mind and if you’re not engaging the laws of your mind in the right areas, you will remain hypochondriac, a paranoid schizophrenic because you know we are all schizophrenics, we are all bipolar, all of us. It’s just most people can control there bipolar condition. When you can’t control it anymore then you become schizophrenic diseased person but we are bipolar. I can be ever so calm today and tomorrow something riles me up and I’ll become a totally different person. This is what the Lord our practitioner wants to restore and He can but not by mere theory. The practice of the prescription must be engaged in. Our psychiatrist has given us a prescription. What’s that? He will arise with healing in his wings, Jesus Christ in your life. Engaging with Him in your life.

2 Corinthians 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Cast down the imaginations, concentrate on the reality of Jesus Christ. Don’t let your mind be destructed by any knowledge that is gained without a clear thus saith the Lord. As you do that, you have perfect example of Moses in Egypt.

Hebrews 11:24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; 25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; 26 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. 27By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.

In the statement of his imagination he looked upon Him who was invisible and what happened with Moses? Where is he today? Translate it. He died and was taken to heaven. He could have stayed in Egypt in what was reality around him but he went into the unreal experience of wilderness wanderings and just imagine it in your mind all that he went through and the wilderness experience with the snakes around. You’ve seen pictures of the Middle East wilderness, what a place to go camping. He could have stayed in Egypt, he was going to be king. He would have been like Tutankhamen being dug out now and carefully preserved. This is a necessity to engage in otherwise we are not going to be healed.

The religion of Christ in the heart is the wellspring of life. It is the living water that Christ will give to every thirsting soul that asks Him. There are many who keep religion in practice far from the soul temple, and their faith is not in Jesus Christ. . . . The heavenly Guest should be invited to occupy the throne of the soul, to control every impulse of the mind, and to bring even the thoughts into subjection to Jesus Christ. . . . {TMK 143.3}

There is a monarch there. We live in the world today of democracy and not monarchy. Why? I want to rule myself thank you very much but the Christian is under a monarchy to let the monarch control me. It’s an anathema isn’t it? In His wonderful control it is the constraining power of love and that is the healing of the mind.

As we live in this Egypt today, do you have thoughts and visions of negativity? As you go through your past and present life and you look at the consequences of your past and the present results of it, haven’t we been bitten by the serpent? Haven’t we been paralysed? Are you paralysed? You have cherished thoughts and you cherished the thoughts easily of thinking it’s too much I can’t anymore, well then won’t anymore. The power of Godly thinking was what He was telling the Hebrews to do. Look upon the serpent on the pole but they would continue to nurse their suffering and they died but all who looked were healed and this is the reality of the power of positive thinking. Occupying our minds with the serpent of the pole, Jesus Christ. God is the true psychologist. Think long enough of Him and the hopelessness of your life will be removed but think long enough of your hopeless case and you will happen by the law of psychology to be hopeless.

It is dangerous to utter a word of doubt. If you will utter the impulse, you will be in danger of making the impulse a reality in your life. The Holy Spirit says, heed my words, repel all those negatives, my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither your ways my ways, take hold of my thoughts as it says there under the power of the omniscient one, you will think His thoughts after Him and you are under a psychological healing program. Believe it, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ make Him a reality in your life and He will be a reality in your life by the rule of psychology.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

This is the true Physician speaking. He says my thoughts will become your thoughts and you will experience the expected end because as a man thinketh in his heart so is he.

2 Corinthians 13:4 For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you.

Why was He crucified? The wages of sin is death. What did He experience? Your and my sin. He was crucified through weakness yet He liveth by the power of God. We also are weak in Him but we shall live with Him by the power of God toward you. Take it in, it’s ours if we let. The Holy Spirit has spoken, do what He says. Don’t permit your own will mind rational pursue mere knowledge, pursue a thus saith the Lord only.

I testify to you that this is real it really works, it takes you to the most horrendous experiences and you come out shining. How can you shine if your mental exercises are depressed? How can you shine, or if you are distressed about something? Does it smile unto your face? You cannot hide what’s in your heart. Your eyes will not hide it, they are the windows of the soul.

Hope has been set before us, even the hope of eternal life. Nothing short of this blessing for us will satisfy our Redeemer, but it is our part to lay hold upon this hope by faith in Him who has promised. We may expect to suffer, for it is those who are partakers with Him in His sufferings who shall be partakers with Him in His glory. Faith in the atonement and intercession of Christ will keep us steadfast and immovable amid the temptations that press upon us in the church militant. Let us contemplate the glorious hope that is set before us, and by faith lay hold upon it. TMK page 79.2

It will become your reality. May God grant us not to depart from here with our old ways of doing things. Let us take on a new start with the understandings that have been portrayed to us. May the Holy Spirit go with us and remind us of the things that He has taught us here. This is my prayer.

Amen.
