Scripture Reading: Daniel 12:9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words [are] closed up and sealed till the time of the end. 10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
I wish to share with you a very important thought because I understand all of you who are gathered here have a united stand on the subject of Daniel chapter 11 and the king of the north.
This subject has been bandied about amongst modern Adventism with so many conflicting views. Not only this subject, but so many others of the original Adventist message that has been left to go astray in the minds of modern Adventism today. Because of the big discussions to and fro on some of some of these subjects, there are many people that say nowadays – “ah, is it really so important? I’m tired of the of the discussion and of the conflict on these subjects; let’s concentrate on salvation.”
Scripture Reading: Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. 2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; 3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. 10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. 11 The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.
During this study, I wish to reflect upon the last six months of our Sabbath School lessons – SSL 2023 (1st half) – Lessons on the Day of the Lord and then usher in the value of our next six months of the Sabbath School lesson – SSL 2023 (2nd half) – Studies on Daniel 11.
Scripture Reading: Habbukuk 2:1 I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. 2 And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. 3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. 4 Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.
The hunger and thirst for people to see Jesus coming in their lifetime was checked:
2 Thessalonians 2:2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
Scripture reading: Revelation 16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed [is] he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
This statement is couched among the words of the sixth plague of Revelation 16. This is the pouring out of the sixth plague:
Revelation 16:12 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.Read the rest of this entry →
The following is from a Turkish editor, of a paper called the Vakit written 100 years ago:
“We shall do our utmost to keep England’s support; but at last, if we do not succeed in it, then it is very easy to know what we have to do. When Europe will not look at us, then we shall lay aside all the European customs which we have adopted, and enter our own old way; form the boy of thirteen to the old man of seventy-five, everyone one of us will be armed, and we shall defend by the will of God, and by the daring of the old days, the country we have held for five hundred years. And if the issue should come to this, as Islamism is not confined to Turkey, then we will blend all the different Moslem races into one ; the Moslems of India, of Central Asia, of the Caucasus, of Africa, and of Algeria will come forward, and we shall again take measures which we once adopted for the conquest of Jerusalem. We shall send proclamations everywhere, and declare a general war against Christendom.Read the rest of this entry →
The king of the north in Daniel 11:40-45 just has to be the papacy! This was the view of Martin Luther back in the 16th century. In 1798 the time of the end began and the book of Daniel was unsealed. Now men began to study this book in earnest and knowledge of the prophecies was increased just as God said would happen. Now that God was opening up men’s understanding, what did some of the prominent Millerites teach on this topic?
