“Don’t leave the ship” they say. That was the condition that the church organisation of the Seventh Day Adventists was in. Some power had cut the cable of the ship that was anchored to the eternal rock and it was drifting away to sea.  Drifting away to sea without what? Chart or compass? What’s going to happen to the ship? There is no chart to tell them where the treacherous rocks are. They will run aground. That was in 1888.
