To Know the Lord

The earth dries up and withers, the whole world withers and grows sick: the earth’s high places sicken, and the earth itself is desecrated by the feet of those who live in it, because they have broken the laws, disobeyed statutes and violated the eternal covenant. For this a curse has devoured the earth and it’s inhabitants stand aghast. Isaiah 24:4-6.

The Lord looks out from heaven, he sees the whole race of men; he surveys from his dwelling place all the inhabitants of earth, Psalm 33:13,14 to see if any act wisely, if any seek out God. But all are disloyal, all are rotten to the core; not one does anything good, no not even one, Psalms 14:2,3.

So despondency and fear will come over them, and then, when they are afraid and fearful, whether they turn their gaze upwards or look down, everywhere is distress and darkness inescapable, constraint and gloom that cannot be avoided; for there is no escape for an oppressed people. Isaiah 8:21,22 For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people. Isaiah 60:2.

The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble Proverbs 4:19.

Destruction and misery are in their ways: And the way of peace have they not known. Romans 3;16.

The Lord looks down from heaven on all mankind, Ps 14:2 when he saw the multitudes,he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Matthew 9:36.

As I live, says the Lord, I have no pleasure in death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die? Ezekiel 33:11.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil to give you an expected end.. Jeremiah 29:11. If the wicked will turn from all his sins that he has committed, and keep all my statutes, and that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die, All his transgressions that he has committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he has done he shall live. Ezek 18:21,22.. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sins no more; Jer 31:34 but now being made free from sin, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life, Rom 6:22 for behold I make all things new. Rev 21:5.

Therefore seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. Isaiah 55:6,7. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. And I will be found of you, says the Lord: and I will turn away your captivity. Jeremiah 29:12,14.

Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight, I have bestowed my spirit upon him and he will make justice shine on the nations. Isaiah 42:1. And you shall give him the name Jesus; for he shall save his people from their sins. Matthew 1:21. This is my son, mu chosen; Listen to him. Luke 9:35.

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me and sent me to preach good tidings to the meek; to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to captives and release to prisoners; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of salvation of our God; to comfort all that mourn; To give to them beauty instead of ashes, perfume instead of mourning, a cloak of beauty instead of the spirit of heaviness; they shall be called men of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, which is glorious. Isaiah 60:1-3.

Come unto me, all you that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is pleasant and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30. Come, my children, listen to me: I will teach you the fear of the Lord. Psalms 34:11. Stop at the crossroads; look for the ancient paths; and see where is the good way. Jer. 6:16. And your ears shall hear a word behind you saying, this is the way, walk in it, and do not turn aside, either to the right hand or to the left. Isaiah 30:12. Then take that way, and you shall find rest for yourselves. Jeremiah 6:16. (last part)

Put all your trust in the Lord and do not rely on your own understanding. Think of him in all your ways, and he will smooth your path. Do not think how wise you are, but fear the Lord, Proverbs 3:5-7

for, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Ps.111:10. A road may seem straightforward to a man, yet may end as the way of death. Proverbs 14:12. The way of a fool is right in his own eyes; but he who listens to counsel is wise.Prov12:15. Without counsel purposes are are disappointed: but in a multitude of counsellors there is safety; Proverbs 11:14. the just Lord is in the midst thereof; he does no wrong;Zephaniah3:5. And he has assigned some as apostles and some as evangelists and some as pastors and some as teachers; Ephesians4:11 the church of the Living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth. 1 Timothy 3:15.

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will import disastrous heresies; 2 Pet.2:1 false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 2 Cor 11:13,14. You will know them by their fruits, Matthew 7:16. (The fruit of the spirit is in all goodness and truth, Ephesians5:9 and the law is the truth Ps.119:42) To the law and the testimony:if they speak not according to this word, there is no light in them. Isa.8:20. They will be men who put pleasure in the place of God, men who preserve the outward form of religion, but are a standing denial of its reality. From such turn away. 2Tim.3:4,5. But I leave in the midst of you an afflicted and poor people and they shall trust in the name of the Lord. Zeph.3:12. Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: fear God and keep his commandments; for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgement, with every secret thing, whether it be good or whether it be evil. Ecclesiastes 12:13,14. For he has appointed a day in which he will judge all the earth with righteousness by the man whom he has chosen. Acts.17:31. And all nations will gather before him; and he will separate them one from another, just as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats; and he shall set the sheep at his right, and the goats at his left. Then the King will say to those on his right, “You have my Father’s blessing: come, enter and possess the kingdom that has been ready for you since the world was made”. He will say to those on his left hand, “The curse is upon you; go from my sight to the eternal fire that is ready for the devil and his angels”.Matt.25:32,34,41.

For, behold, the day comes, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble, and the day that comes shall burn them up, says the Lord, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. Malachi.4:1. The Heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.2Pet.3:10. For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come to mind. Isa.65:17.

Now at last God has his dwelling among men. He will dwell among them and they shall be his people, and God himself will be with them. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall their be any more pain, for the former things are passed away. Rev.21:3,4.

Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, think what sort of people you ought to be. 2Pet.3:11

Do not set your hearts on the godless world or anything in it. Anyone who loves the world is a stranger to the Father’s love. Everything that the world affords, all that panders to the appetites or entices the eyes, all the glamour or its life, spring not from the Father but from the godless world. And that world is passing away with all its allurements, but he who does God’s will stands for evermore. 1John2:15-17.

Come now and let us reason together…. though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. Isa.1:18. I summon heaven and earth to witness against you this day: I offer you the choice of life or death, blessing or curse. Therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; that you may love the Lord your God, and that you may cleave to him; for he is your life and length of days; Deuteronomy30:19,20.

Therefore, today if you hear his voice, harden not your hearts. Hebrews 4:7.

Behold, the days are coming , says the Lord, when I will send a famine in the land; not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing of the word of the Lord. And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it. In that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst. Amos8:11-13.

Therefore, while it is said; Today, if you will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. Heb.3:15.

And he who is athirst, let him come, and whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. Rev.22:17
