God’s Love in Sabbath Keeping
By John Thiel, mp3
Ours is a very personal God that comes very close to everyone who will take the time to feel after Him and to bask in His precious love. There is a love that we need to discover as individuals and as a church in life.
There is a class of Christians that keeps on denouncing those who will keep on upholding God’s love. They think that upholding God’s love is making small of His commandments and His laws. They tend to think that if you keep on upholding God’s love you become liberal and careless; that if you keep on upholding that God has removed our condemnation for us through Jesus Christ, and you don’t have a feeling of the sense of your condemnation all the time, then you will become slack.
Indeed there is a mentality that riddles its way through much of Christianity, which places into your heart a sense of fear so that you will obey. But then there is the liberal soul that doesn’t have any fear and who is careless about doing what God wants him to do. Read the rest of this entry
The Sufferings of God’s Love
By John Thiel, mp3
The series on God’s love that we have been engaging in has revealed something. Something has become evident that God loves the sinner. He loves him so much and He has demonstrated His love. But His love is the only exercise that God can engage in to bring the sinner away from his sin. God can use no force; it needs to be only the act of God’s own personal love for the sinner. The sinner who loves God in turn, is moved upon because of God’s great love to do His will.
1 John 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us.
1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. 4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, [even] our faith. 5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? The Love of God and Man’s Discouragement
By John Thiel, mp3
Those who worship God in spirit and in truth know and understand what the scripture says, God is love. We need to continue to worship God in the deep sense of that love. The God that created man and all that surrounded man at creation, this beautiful planet that He created, when you look at it closely, it was all created by a motive of love; and it was simply addressed in this beautiful account of God having finished His creation and looking upon it:
The Love of God in Creation
Genesis 1:31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, [it was] very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
Behold, everything was very good. As this statement is uttered in the word of God, it takes my mind out to the beautiful sceneries and the beautiful things that I have looked at and loved in nature, and indeed there are so many things, the vast scenery of a landscape that today only very minimally represents what God had done in the beginning. It was the worshipful admiration of this wonderful creation of God that displays God’s love in the very fact that He created in the first place. To reflect in our own meditation even though we don’t have the visual scenery before us, we can image it as it is described here:
The Prince of Love in Historical and Prophetic Revelation
By John Thiel
The king of creation the almighty, ponder who He is. The influence He has over great nations that have been and are here today. Daniel chapter 10 touches your heart with a deep sense of this. In this vision, Daniel is given the history of the governments of this world. God knows what takes place in regards to leadership. Through all history, God governs the nations.
As these nations were being moved upon in the time of Daniel, he was praying and an angel came to him and the angel express he was having a difficult time with the kings of Persia and another angel came to help him.
Daniel 10:13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.
Daniel 10:21 But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince. Read the rest of this entry
God’s Love Perfected in Me
By John Thiel, mp3
I would like to spend time contemplating the amazing love of God so that we would be motivated by a love that we do not understand unless the Lord reveals it to us.
1 John 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
I want to ask you a question, is the love of God perfected in you? For us to understand perfectly for ourselves what it means to have the love of God perfected in me., I want to spend this time to explore the practical, experimental religion that is portrayed to us in the Word by which we may in all reality have the love of God perfected in me. The Love of God Versus Pride
By John Thiel, mp3
We have been meditating on the boundless love of God. God wants to reveal to us a love that is quite contrary to the love that we have.
“Grant that nothing in my soul may dwell but thy pure love alone,
Oh may thy love possess me whole.
If you pray that prayer very consciously, you are asking God to possess you because is He not Love? That He would possess me completely that nothing is left inside of me but that. Our meditation is to continue the appreciation of that love of God which is to be the source of all our obedience, of all our practices and standards that we stand by as God’s church on earth.
I would like to identify this hour a distinction. A very clear distinction that we need to understand between the love of God and the motivations of human love to appreciate the distinction of that which prompts God into action in contrast with the prompting of our fallen human nature – the love of God versus pride. God’s Last Gift of Love
By John Thiel, mp3
We have been contemplating and marvelling at God’s great love. Just recently we have been considering the wonderful love of God for His people living just prior to His coming where He has promised to them the gift of the testimony of Jesus which is according to the Bible the Spirit of Prophecy.

The Love of God Versus the Love of the World
1 John 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
We are in a contrasting conflict. Which one will we love? The Lord or the world? We are gathered here to worship God at the shrine of heavenly love. We are to here marvel over his indescribable love. Love and the chase of its internal satisfaction is mankind’s preoccupation. People are chasing for love. They yearn an internal fulfillment of love. Indeed there are many shrines of worship that are established where souls plunge themselves to indulge their craving of the elixir of love. There is not a human being that doesn’t want to drink that elixir, that love. Where and what is your shrine? What is your shrine? While we worship here, while we are in the presence of God’s love, is your heart, elsewhere? Many children and youth, long for the closing of the Sabbath. To be able to rush back to engage in the pleasures that the Sabbath forbids. Indeed there is many a heart that while worshipping God, is also preoccupied with another shrine at variance with the worship of God. There are many shrines.
The great sin of God’s people at the present time is, we do not appreciate the value of the blessings God has bestowed upon us. We serve God with a divided heart. We cherish some idol and worship at its shrine. The truth of God is elevated and holy, sanctifying the soul, if brought into the life and interwoven with the character. God is seeking with His truth to make us a separate and peculiar people. This is the influence of the truth. Our obedience and devotion are not equal to our light and privileges, and the sacred obligations resting upon us to walk as children of the light are not fulfilled by us. As Christians we fail to come up to our high calling.. {TDG 50.2} Read the rest of this entry
The Sound of Music Indicative of God’s Love
By John Thiel, mp3
What does the sound of music have to do with the subject of God’s love? We hear different sounds all the time. Sounds that relate to different circumstances, moods, events and emotions. We hear the shrieks of terror, we hear blood curdling cries, and we hear soft sensational golden throated love songs. We hear the sounds of delight and hear the sounds of challenge and conflict. To discern the sound for relevant situations is very imperative. For instance I have much experience in hearing the sounds of my children with their voices such as delightful shrieks and cries and amongst them all to be able to discern the shriek of delight, terror or a fright or something serious. Once I heard my children give a shriek where they were in an area of danger and i ran out but they were happy. The discernment of being able to tell the difference was very difficult. To discern the contrast of sounds to incite to appropriate action is a subject that we need to understand. Read the rest of this entry
Orchestrations of God’s love and Earthly Wars
By John Thiel
Our object in meditation in the love of God is chronicled in Ephesians.
Ephesians 3:16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; 17That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Adornment for the One I Love
By John Thiel, mp3
God is love. In his loving effort to reach our sin darkened hearts we can see this demonstrated when we look at nature – the creatures he has put into existence for us to enjoy and look at the demonstration of his method in instilling his love into the sinner’s heart. This is the greatest dimension of his love that we can study. This never ceases to thrill my soul. If you ever want to get continued enjoyment, find someone to study with. Study the things of God’s love. When that person has settled into the truth, find another to study with. As you share with others the demonstration of God’s love in saving humanity, this will keep you alive. Observe the study of God’s love demonstrated in the story of the Jews escaping from the Egyptians. This is an object lesson of God’s love for the sinner. For 400 years the Egyptians held the Israelites in captivity.
They were slaves to be used for the empire of the Egyptian nation. As the Hebrews were gaining energy and power because God blessed them, Pharaoh was so afraid of them multiplying, he turned the fire on. Instead of supplying them with raw material, they had to go and find it themselves. Then all the boys under two years old had to be slain. The intensity of the suffering they were going through brought out cries from them to God – save us. As a result of the intense crying, the Lord revealed himself to these people. The ten plagues came upon Egypt. Pharaoh was convinced to let these people go. Then they saw Pharaoh behind them and they trembled with fear. We know the story of the Red Sea opening up for them. What a demonstration of Gods power for their souls. Filled with fear and anguish God demonstrated his amazing power of love towards them. Doesn’t this warm the heart? Can you imagine how they must have felt momentarily there of Gods hand to save them. God says, see how much I love you? Read the rest of this entry
