1. Introducing Daniel 11
Daniel 11
By John Thiel, Daniel 11 Series, Study 1, mp3
This is a study into the book of Daniel chapter 11, and the purpose of this study is to explore the entire vision of that prophecy, which is a very controversial subject. To introduce this series of studies I want to make one thing very clear: the real intent of inspiration in giving the prophetic detail is something more than merely understanding future events. It is something that Apostle Peter handles very clearly. Here is the real intent behind prophetic Bible study: Read the rest of this entry
2. The All-Comprehensive Vision of Daniel
Daniel 11
By John Thiel, Daniel 11 Series, Study 2, mp3
In our introduction we learnt that the intent of studying the prophecies is to make an experience with Jesus.
John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. Read the rest of this entry
3. God’s Detailed Activity in Forming History
Daniel 11
By John Thiel, Daniel 11 Series, Study 3, mp3
We have been examining the scope of the Daniel 11 vision right from the time of Babylon and Persia down to the very last days, the time of the end. We are beholding Michael and the angels affecting the minds and activities of human affairs. This is the intent of the study of prophecy. We read in 2 Peter that the morning star is to arise in our hearts if we would take heed to prophecy. As we study prophecy, what are we in fact studying? It’s already suggested in the previous scriptures that we have been reading, but let’s turn to Revelation because here is another amplification of what prophecy is; John the revelator is here speaking:
Revelation 19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See [thou do it] not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. Read the rest of this entry
4. The Rising of Rome to the Birth of Christ
Daniel 11
By John Thiel, Daniel 11 Series, Study 4, mp3
Let us take a glance back at some scriptures that have pointed us into the understanding of Daniel 11. The things that God has inspired to be written were for a particular purpose.
Isaiah 45:17 [But] Israel shall be saved in the LORD with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.
This is God’s purpose. He has a purpose in orchestrating the events of the world – the political and spiritual events – and it is to come to the conclusion of a world without end. Read the rest of this entry
5. The Covenant Affected by Rome
Daniel 11
By John Thiel, Daniel 11 Series, Study 5, mp3
Through our previous researches in this Daniel 11 series we have seen how the angel Gabriel worked behind the scenes together with Michael the Archangel (see Daniel 10:12-14, 21). Michael and Gabriel orchestrated very systematically the events in the fall of the Grecian Empire and the rising of the Roman Empire. During the reign of Augustus Caesar, he, the raiser of taxes, brought in the opportunity for Jesus Christ to be born in the Augustan Age, the golden era of the Roman Empire (see Luke 2:1-7). Joseph and Mary had to travel all the way from Bethlehem because that was where their roots were; and that is where Jesus was born. As we read previously, Gabriel was the one who was talking to Elizabeth, the mother of John the Baptist, and then to Mary. Gabriel was working with the people that were to be particularly involved with the birth of Jesus. Jesus finally came down; Michael the archangel came as a little babe in this drama of earth’s history, working upon the hearts and lives of the human race towards a particular and ultimate objective. Jesus lived for thirty whole years before He commenced His ministry. During those thirty years, what happened in the Roman government? Read the rest of this entry
6. The Desolations of Michael the Prince
Daniel 11
By John Thiel, Daniel 11 Series, Study 6, mp3
Throughout the studies so far we have come to appreciate the activities of Michael our Prince.
Daniel 11:22 And with the arms of a flood shall they be overflown from before him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant.
This is the description of Tiberius Caesar coming to his end. He was such a corrupt emperor, and in his efforts to sustain himself he was overpowered by his enemies, and he was finally stifled with a pillow in A.D. 37. In the year A.D. 31 Jesus was crucified. Read the rest of this entry
7. The Consummation
Daniel 11
By John Thiel, Daniel 11 Series, Study 7, mp3
The conclusion of the Daniel 11 prophecy is cited in the following scripture.
Daniel 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [it] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolator [margin].
We have been studying the activities of the desolators, and at the end of all the desolations that have happened we come to the consummation. “Even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolator.” God has an objective in His whole plan for this world and in the revelation of this prophecy; He is aiming to one end. Daniel 11
CHAPTER 11 1 Also I [Gabriel] in the first year of Darius the Mede, even I, stood to confirm and to strengthen him.
2 And now will I shew thee the truth. Behold, there shall stand up yet three kings in Persia [Cambyses, Smerdis, Darius]; Read the rest of this entry |
