Where are your children? Are you educating them to discern and to escape the corruptions that are in the world through lust? {6T 195.2}

Through affections?

Are you seeking to save their souls, or are you by your neglect aiding in their destruction? {6T 195.2}

What are we not to neglect?

We have been instructed by God to take our children away into our homes. Don’t let them dwell and communicate in the homes of those who are not obeying the Bible. Why? Because Satan is using the silken cords of social fellowship to tie them.

Can you see it in the youth around us today? Can you experience it, youth? Can you see how your families have held you away from doing what you know your conscience is telling you to do? Have you? It is the devil, by your friends and relatives. He is cruel. God’s word says, Gather them away from those who are disregarding the commandments of God, who are teaching and practicing evil. Now here is the challenge. How do you do it? Have you tried? Have you succeeded? Why not? I am going to spend some very precious moments now, and those of you who still have little children, understand very carefully what your duty is as instructed by God. Those of you who have failed, simply confess because you can’t do much about it. I will now read these passages and show you from God’s word how to do the opposite to what Satan is doing.

How do you do it? Remember? It is the silken cords of affection that Satan uses. So how are we going to do it? How are we going to tear the children away and save them from being caught up by those silken cords of affection? We have three points.

We are living in the last days, and it is worse than ever before. You wonder what has been happening to you? Affections are stronger than intellect, but we are to be governed by our intellect, and yet these affections are so strong. Satan knows this. He knows it very well. And now that we are living in the perilous times of the last days, with whom is he making war? He already has the affections of the world in general. Look how stupid everything is around us. There is insanity of affections. People are centring their affections males on males and females on females. What a madness! They don’t care. They are not thinking. They are intellectually very capable; when you listen to them in parliament, oh they have great intelligence, but look at how stupid they are, because the affections rule them. We are to be ruled by our intellect, and we are to exercise our affections according to that. But it’s gone, it’s too powerful. Satan knows this. Here is the woeful statement of what a cruel being Lucifer is:

Control Your Children

Now you have a problem. You get frustrated because Satan is getting them, so you become feverish, rigid, and very dictatorial. “Don’t you go there; you can’t go to that particular school because that is of the world!” The children say, “Oh Mom and Dad, come on.” Control? “But you know that the children of Israel had to be stayed in the home, you can’t go there! We are going to stay together.” All that sort of talk, is that going to succeed? I wish it would, it’s much easier. How do you help your children to control them and keep them in the home? We have already seen that there must be the affection that draws, but what about the control? How do you control your children?

Reverently and tenderly let the word of God be read and repeated to them in portions suited to their comprehension and adapted to awaken their interest. And, above all, let them learn of His love revealed in Christ, and its great lesson: MH 460.2

Loving obedience is a discovery and interest according to their level of comprehension. We are seeking to understand their level of comprehension and to instill into them these important principles that are based upon and lead to obedience. Disobedience must be punished. CG 249.4 – 250

There’s the suffering. Why must it be punished? Because we have a propensity of disobedience and it has to be driven out.

Wrongdoing must be corrected. The iniquity that is bound up in the heart of a child must be met and overcome by parents and teachers. CG 249.4 – 250

It must be met. You can’t just go along saying it’s all right and it will go away. No. It must be met and overcome by whom? By the parents and the teachers.
