God’s Love Sent a Prophet

By John Thiel, mp3

Our running series on the exploration of God’s love have revealed to us a boundless dimension. The dimensions of God’s love is recorded not only as a three dimensional message, but four dimensions:

Ephesians 3:17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what [is] the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

We are privileged to discover these dimensions and all the way through the series that we have been engaging in, we have seen such a large dimension already but there is much more. We have seen for instance that the Godhead has a love between the three persons of the Godhead that they were prepared to share with the human race. Through His Son, He has given the atonement so that we might be heirs of God and join us together with Jesus Christ of that Godhead; heirs of God. The dimensions of sacrifice to bring us to the point that while we were yet sinners, is just so overwhelming. The ramifications and consequences of that overture of God’s love is beyond human imagination. We need to continually bear in mind in our exploration of God’s love where that is meant to takes us to.

1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

It’s beyond human imagination. It hasn’t even entered into the head of that person.

1 Corinthians 2:10 But God hath revealed [them] unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, and the deep things of God.

It’s a dimension that cannot be imagined in the heart of men.

1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned.

From that aspect we realise the only way we can discern is the only way we can appreciate this dimension is indeed through the Spirit. Last study we looked upon God’s Love in providing the Bible and how to understand God’s thoughts behind the words of the Bible. We went carefully into the detail to appreciate that it’s very possible to draw your own conclusions from your Bible reading and thereby not pick up on God’s thoughts behind the words.

We live today at a time as the Bible declares, just prior to the second coming of Jesus where there are many Christians who have a false concept of what the Bible actually means about the coming of Jesus. There are so many that have this wonderful romantic appreciation of the coming of Jesus. We’re going to say ‘this is our God we have waited for Him, and He would save us.’ Romance in Christianity is a very dangerous thing because we imagine from our human perspective instead of from what God is actually meaning.

The Wrong Impressions

Amos 5:18 Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! To what end [is] it for you? The day of the LORD [is] darkness, and not light. 19 As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him. 20  [Shall] not the day of the LORD [be] darkness, and not light? Even very dark, and no brightness in it?

This representation of the day of the Lord has me very fascinated. He’s trying to draw a picture of what’s going to be like. In another scripture it says, it’s the day in which you will be as though you are coming out of the snare and you fall in to the pit, you just come out of one tangle and you fall into the next one. This is the most vivid part; when you’re running for your life from being chased by a lion and you are really just about coming around the corner and just about making it and the lion is a good way off now and just about happy to see that it’s all over now and there in front of you is a ferocious looking bear ready to go for you and so you quickly turn and run from that terrible horrifying scene and as you’re running away from the bear now and he’s coming up behind you, you just get to a house there and you quickly run the door and open and in you go and you close the door behind and you sigh with relieve.

You put your hands up against the wall and a snake bites you. This is what we have to understand; the coming of the Lord. Because this is the kind of singing that has to do with the coming of the Lord, God’s love is such that He knows that this is going to take place for the people, that in the heart of Jesus, there is an intense yearning to help these people who are under such a dangerous delusion of the coming of Jesus. If they hit that sort of experience they won’t make it so, they have to be thoroughly prepared.

Revelation 7:1 And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree. 2 And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, 3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. 4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: [and there were] sealed an hundred [and] forty [and] four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

Here you get the picture of the earth in the day of the Lord about to suffer this terrible ordeal. As these winds are being held by the angel there comes another angel that says; don’t let them go until we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads because the servants of our God are not yet able to stand those terrible destructive forces. The beautiful love of Jesus is exemplified in this concept and we see this wonderful love with which Jesus looks down upon the people at this time who may be imagining that it’s going to be a wonderful time to meet Jesus.

I saw four angels who had a work to do on the earth, and were on their way to accomplish it. Jesus was clothed with priestly garments. He gazed in pity on the remnant, then raised His hands, and with a voice of deep pity cried, “My blood, Father, My blood, My blood, My blood!” Then I saw an exceeding bright light come from God, who sat upon the great white throne, and was shed all about Jesus. Then I saw an angel with a commission from Jesus, swiftly flying to the four angels who had a work to do on the earth, and waving something up and down in his hand, and crying with a loud voice, “Hold! Hold! Hold! Hold! until the servants of God are sealed in their foreheads.” {EW 38.1}

I asked my accompanying angel the meaning of what I heard, and what the four angels were about to do. He said to me that it was God that restrained the powers, and that He gave His angels charge over things on the earth; that the four angels had power from God to hold the four winds, and that they were about to let them go; but while their hands were loosening, and the four winds were about to blow, the merciful eye of Jesus gazed on the remnant that were not sealed, and He raised His hands to the Father and pleaded with Him that He had spilled His blood for them. Then another angel was commissioned to fly swiftly to the four angels and bid them hold, until the servants of God were sealed with the seal of the living God in their foreheads. {EW 38.2}

Can you see the love here? This is a love that is in the heart of God that we are wanting so study about again. A love that can see that God’s own people for whom Jesus had died and who were God’s remnant people were not yet ready for these terrible things to take place and so in deep pity and love Jesus is pleading with the Father; Lord, my blood, my blood, my blood. The love just streams from Him.

The Reason for the Delay

2 Peter 3:7 But the heavens and the earth which are now by the same word are keep in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgement and perdition of ungodly men. 8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

It goes on to describe that the day of the Lord will come and will burn as an oven and everything will be smoked up and dissolved. Therefore, what should we be doing?

2 Peter 3:12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. 14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. 15 And account [that] the longsuffering of our Lord [is] salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;

Here is this wonderful love that is in the heart of God. He knows that the people have got this airy fairy kind of euphoric idea of the coming of Jesus and they are not going to be able to survive with that idea. He is holding back and He wants people to come to a total appreciation so that they can put away the things that are wrong in their lives. He holds back and is long suffering with us and we account that as a love toward us that He wants us to awaken ourselves and be diligent that we might be found in Him in peace without spot and blameless.

There is the real key to the whole subject of our meditation here in this study. Because of the corrupting influences that are spoken of in the last days, it says in the last days peril is time shall be and one in which the love of many grows cold. In His knowledge of the kind of mental and social and spiritual condition that surround His people that has caused their love to grow cold, yet they need to be ready for His coming blameless. What in His love will He do for the people living at this period of time? He sends an extra bonus of love.

1 Corinthians 1:4 I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;

He’s overwhelmed and keeps on rejoicing in that.

1 Corinthians 1:5 That in everything ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and [in] all knowledge; 6 Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: 7 So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: 8 Who shall also confirm you unto the end, [that ye may be] blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Testimony of Jesus

This day that is not going to be what the people expected to be, a day that will catch them unawares and will completely confuse their joy. What has God in His wonderful mercy and grace enriched the people who are waiting for the coming of the Lord given them? Something to confirm them unto the end that they may be blameless. What was that?

1 Corinthians 1:6 Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:

The testimony of Christ. What did He give as the gift that you come behind the no gift as you wait for the Lord that you might to be confirmed? The testimony of Christ. What is that? The testimony of Christ was given as a gift so that we might be confirmed and found blameless at His becoming. There must be an arrival of some very special ingredient of love just before the coming of Jesus.

Revelation 19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See [thou do it] not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy.

What does God give in His love for the people who have to be blameless at His coming but who are not yet ready? He gives them a gift to confirm them. It is the gift of the testimony of Christ which is the testimony of Jesus, the Spirit of Prophecy just before the coming of Jesus to confirm them and to render them blameless.

Malachi 4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:

This dreadful day, what will God do for His people? He will send them Elijah the prophet

Malachi 4:6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

Here is the promise of the Spirit of Prophecy just before the coming of the Lord.

Elijah, the Prophet

In God’s great love, He sends a prophet. That’s the very title our study of our divine service, God’s Love Sent a Prophet. The main reason why the Spirit of Prophecy was given in these last days, we’ve seen it here that He might confirm them through that gift. Isn’t the Bible full enough of helping us getting ready of Jesus’ coming?

The Word of God is sufficient to enlighten the most beclouded mind, and may be understood by those who have any desire to understand it. But notwithstanding all this, some who profess to make the Word of God their study, are found living in direct opposition to its plainest teachings… {Ev 256.4}

The Bible is clear that there are people who would misread the Bible and so God instead of saying, ‘well that’s just too bad for you, I’ve shown you how to read the Bible but you won’t read it right. Therefore, that’s just too bad for you.’ Is that the character of God? Not at all.

Then, to leave men and women without excuse, God gives plain and pointed testimonies, bringing them back to the Word that they have neglected to follow. The Word of God abounds in general principles for the formation of correct habits of living, and the Testimonies, general and personal, have been calculated to call their attention more especially to these principles.—Testimonies For The Church 5:663, 664 (1889). {Ev 256.4}

The testimonies of the Spirit of Prophecy has been given because peoples’ lives are not in harmony with the written words of the Bible. They have misread the Bible. So to prevent them from being lost, Jesus gives them another dimension of information by which they might bring their lives into harmony.

Little heed is given to the Bible, and the Lord has given a lesser light to lead men and women to the greater light.—The Colporteur Evangelist, 37 (1902). {Ev 257.1}

God in His mercy sends the Spirit of Prophecy, the testimony of Jesus, as the lesser light to bring them back to what the Bible was saying all the way along which they had failed to do.

But there are not many of you that really know what is contained in the Testimonies. You are not familiar with the Scriptures. If you had made God’s word your study, with a desire to reach the Bible standard and attain to Christian perfection, you would not have needed the Testimonies… {2T 605.1}

If the people would have studied the Bible and obeyed its directions, the testimonies would not have been needed.

It is because you have neglected to acquaint yourselves with God’s inspired Book that He has sought to reach you by simple, direct testimonies, calling your attention to the words of inspiration which you had neglected to obey, and urging you to fashion your lives in accordance with its pure and elevated teachings. {2T 605.1}

It would be very possible to claim ignorance that the standards and principles of God’s word that are necessary for God’s people to practice are ignored because we can’t see it written in the Bible for ourselves. So God says, ‘we’ll I want you to stand without fault before I come. I want you to be blameless. I want you to be in total harmony with my principles of heaven. Therefore, I am going to give you some pointed statements, straight on the inspiration so that you know exactly what I want you to do.’ In His love, He has done that.

When we read the testimonies of the Spirit of Prophecy, we are called upon to read them so that we may be found blameless when He comes, to help His people read the Bible correctly and render them without spot and blameless. That is why He sent the testimony of Jesus. Jesus Himself, speaking. In the Old Testament and in the Bible are recorded the things that were written by the prophets. It’s very interesting here, very interesting mind exercise.

Hebrews 1:1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by [his] Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

In these last days, God has spoken to us by His Son. This is an interesting experience to think about because God hasn’t spoken to us by His Son literally like in the days of the Apostles. How can He speak personally to us today? The testimony of Jesus, remember? Jesus’ testimony, His words, how can they become crystal clear in our minds today? Is it Jesus speaking?

“Your work,” He instructed me, “is to bear My word. Strange things will arise, and in your youth I set you apart to bear the message to the erring ones, to carry the word before unbelievers, and with pen and voice to reprove from the Word actions that are not right. Exhort from the Word. I will make My Word open to you. It shall not be as a strange language… {1SM 32.2}

Remember that’s what the people are saying ‘I don’t understand the Bible so well.’ It’s so easy to not take the words of the Bible as they meant. God is very loving. He leaves the people of these last days without a shadow of confusion.

In the true eloquence of simplicity, with voice and pen, the messages that I give shall be heard from one who has never learned in the schools. My Spirit and My power shall be with you. {1SM 32.2}

“Be not afraid of man, for My shield shall protect you. It is not you that speaketh: it is the Lord that giveth the messages of warning and reproof. Never deviate from the truth under any circumstances. Give the light I shall give you. The messages for these last days shall be written in books, and shall stand immortalized, to testify against those who have once rejoiced in the light, but who have been led to give it up because of the seductive influences of evil.” {1SM 32.3}

We are living in that time. The seductive influences of evil had done their work and here are books that contain the testimony of Jesus. Ellen White’s writings were not her words. It is not you that speaketh it is the Lord that giveth the messages of warning and reproof in the eloquence of simplicity by one who has never learned in the schools. We are then confronted with the hard reality that whatever we read in the Spirit of Prophecy and the words that are written there have been written under the direct verbal communication of Jesus Christ. It is not you that speaketh. It is the Lord that giveth these messages.

It is Satan’s special object to prevent this light from coming to the people of God, who so greatly need it amid the perils of these last days. {5T 667.2}

“‘Your success is in your simplicity. As soon as you depart from this and fashion your testimony to meet the minds of any, your power is gone. Almost everything in this age is glossed and unreal. The world abounds in testimonies given to please and charm for the moment and to exalt self. Your testimony is of a different character. It is to come down to the minutiae of life, keeping the feeble faith from dying and pressing home upon believers the necessity of shining as lights in the world. {5T 667.3}

So different to the world that you’re a light and that’s what the testimony of the Spirit of Prophecy is for. Not to gloss and to make people feel good. It is there to not to please and charm like the testimonies of so many in today’s society. Your testimony is of a different character, it is to come down to the minutiae of life, down to the little detail so that in the little sin, the little foxes, they won’t be spoiled. Therefore we have a very vivid expression of God’s love in the testimony of the Spirit of Prophecy and with these books at our disposal remember it said there to be written in books and to stand immortalize. I thank God because Sister White is not alive today, we have the testimonies.

With these books at our disposal to delineate in the simple language the life of our loving Savior and the life that He wants us to live, how earnestly we should be reading those books? How earnestly we should be picking up the thoughts of Jesus in those books in the simplicity of the language that was written so everything you read in those books is there for me to listen to Jesus speaking; that is the important aspect here.

God has spoken to us through His word. He has spoken to us through the testimonies to the church and through the books that have helped to make plain our present duty and the position that we should now occupy. The warnings that have been given, line upon line, precept upon precept, should be heeded. If we disregard them, what excuse can we offer? {8T 298.1}

We to love read statements of the Spirit of Prophecy that comfort us. But what about the things that don’t sound so comfortable, the ones that talk about the reformation principle? The life that we should be changing into? Sister White writes agitate, agitate, agitate. Push the car of reform. We don’t have to push any of our own idea because it’s all written in the Spirit of Prophecy. So we are told simply to read it and to make that agitated in our mind down to the little minutiae. It’s all written just for us to read, and if we don’t what excuse have we got. That’s been given for us to stand in the day of God in that terrible day.

Sister White now makes this plaintive cry to the people that have this testimony given to, the people who were misreading the Bible and God is sending the messenger.

The church has turned back from following Christ her Leader and is steadily retreating toward Egypt. Yet few are alarmed or astonished at their want of spiritual power. Doubt, and even disbelief of the testimonies of the Spirit of God, is leavening our churches everywhere. Satan would have it thus. Ministers who preach self instead of Christ would have it thus. The testimonies are unread and unappreciated. God has spoken to you. Light has been shining from His word and from the testimonies, and both have been slighted and disregarded. The result is apparent in the lack of purity and devotion and earnest faith among us. {5T 217.2}

There we have the plaintive cry that those testimonies that needed to be read that have revealed to us the minutiae of bringing our life into harmony that God has sent in His wonderful love to reach into the life of those that He is crying His blood for. Sometimes I become very tearful at the thought of this. Just like it was in Sister White’s time, the testimonies were quoted and were regarded as a disturber of the peace and yet it is the wonderful love of Jesus.

Why Is The Prophet Ignored?

Why is the prophet ignored to such to extend when God’s love is the sender? Sister White gives us the answer:

You despise and reject the testimonies because they reprove your darling sins and disturb your self-complacency. {5T 49.2}

That’s why they are despised. It is such a sharp testimony, it is such pointed testimony, that it points directly in minutiae at the details of our life behavior whether it be our food, whether it be our clothing, whether it be our amusement, whatever it is it goes down to the fine details, it names the thing and tells you the details of them and they point directly at some darling idol and disturbs my complacency in the way I am living right now. That is why they are despised and rejected.

When Christ is cherished in the heart, His likeness will be revealed in the life. Humility will reign where pride was once predominant. Submission, meekness, patience, will soften down the rugged features of a naturally perverse, impetuous disposition. Love to Jesus will be manifested in love to His people. … {5T 49.2}

This submission, this yielding that comes in the heart is in love with Jesus. But this is the problem; Jesus loves so much and people are still hanging on to the minutiae of things that Jesus is identifying as offensive to heaven.

The reproofs, the cautions, the corrections of the Lord, have been given to His church in all ages of the world. These warnings were despised and rejected in Christ’s day by the self-righteous Pharisees, who claimed that they needed no such reproof and were unjustly dealt with. They would not receive the word of the Lord through His servants because it did not please their inclinations. Should the Lord give a vision right before this class of people in our day, pointing out their mistakes, rebuking their self-righteousness and condemning their sins, they would rise up in rebellion, like the inhabitants of Nazareth when Christ showed them their true condition. {5T 689.1}

Has God given a vision today to such a class? Indeed He has given the very testimony and this is all under the influence by the testimonies Sister White is writing here. She is drawing that comparison that like we often say ‘if I was to be amongst the people in the crowd at the time of Christ, I wouldn’t have rejected Him like they did. Here we have a very good mirror of whether I would or would not, because if I am not reading the testimonies of the spirit of prophesy and seeking to put them to practice then if I do see them and I then I say ‘no, no I don’t want to do that,’ then I will do exactly the same with Jesus back then because this is the testimony of Jesus. I want to give you a little exercise as to why there are so many people that reject the Ellen Whites writings as the testimony of Jesus because some of those things that are written there are very straight, very pointed and very apparently condemning.

The word of God places the sin of gluttony in the same catalogue with drunkenness… {4T 454.3}

Some do not exercise control over their appetites, but indulge taste at the expense of health. As the result the brain is clouded, their thoughts are sluggish, and they fail to accomplish what they might if they were self-denying and abstemious. These rob God of the physical and mental strength which might be devoted to His service if temperance were observed in all things… {4T 454.2}

So offensive was this sin in the sight of God that He gave directions to Moses that a child who would not be restrained on the point of appetite, but would gorge himself with anything his taste might crave, should be brought by his parents before the rulers in Israel and should be stoned to death. The condition of the glutton was considered hopeless. He would be of no use to others and was a curse to himself. No dependence could be placed upon him in anything. His influence would be ever contaminating others, and the world would be better without such a character; for his terrible defects would be perpetuated. None who have a sense of their accountability to God will allow the animal propensities to control reason. Those who do this are not Christians, whoever they may be and however exalted their profession. The injunction of Christ is: “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.” He here shows us that we may be as perfect in our sphere as God is in His sphere. {4T 454.3}

This is a harsh statement here. A person who is a glutton and who eats according to his appetite is regarded as in a hopeless state. And he’s not just in a hopeless state, he is a contaminant upon others. He is better to be moved out of the way and so they were stoned back then. You throw yourself into a state of mind and you go ‘wow! How severe! And as it says here, they would not be restrained. One of the characteristics in this Spirit of Prophecy is that there are restraints given and very clear minutiae detail. People will not be restrained. So the harsh direction that is given at this testimony is stoning. How do you like that? People forget that the same person who inspired these words also spoke like this.

The Lord God through Jesus Christ holds out His hand all the day long in invitation to the sinful and fallen. He will receive all. He welcomes all. It is His glory to pardon the chief of sinners. He will take the prey from the mighty, He will deliver the captive, He will pluck the brand from the burning. He will lower the golden chain of His mercy to the lowest depths of human wretchedness, and lift up the debased soul contaminated with sin. {MH 161.3}

It’s the same person who wrote that testimony. Here is a person who is a glutton; and as he writes that, and as he describes the gluttony to the souls so that they can see that ‘oh this means to me.’ They don’t have to go along and say, ‘well that’s it it’s finished then. I will not be around. That’s what some people read the testimonies like. But the same person who wrote that wrote this. This is the exercise of mind here. Notice on page 165, this is the same person that inspired the other statement.

Whatever the evil habits, the strong prejudices, or the overbearing passions of human beings, He met them all with pitying tenderness… {MH 165.1}

The person has got the passion of appetite of overeating, of being gluttonous. Whatever the evil habit was, he meets it with pitying tenderness. There we can see why some people only want one side of the story without the other. And therefore, they reject the testimonies. The harsh rebukes are not for our destruction. We actually see in the testimonies of Jesus in the writings of E.G White the meaning of the character of God. His character is displayed in these testimonies.

The Character of God

Exodus 37:6 And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, 7 Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear [the guilty]; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the third and to the fourth [generation].

Here is His character displayed in the testimonies, the harshness for those who will not be restrained, who will not submit to the council of His love. To them, He will by no means clear. But for those who are listening to these harsh realities, and say ‘Lord be merciful to me’ He indeed is merciful and gracious and long-suffering and abundant in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity for transgression and sin. That is what’s displayed in the testimonies, beautiful, full revelation. We have the privilege in the testimonies that are at our disposal to behold this glory. We have the privilege to be able to pour through those books and marvel at this wonderful person who is speaking to us in the testimonies.

The Testimonies – A Privilege to Us

There are many people who would like to put the testimonies of the Spirit of Prophecy out of sight. They don’t want too many people to know how severe they are and how straight they are.

2 Timothy 1:8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

How meaningful these words are. Do not be ashamed of the testimony of Jesus, the Spirit of Prophecy nor of the one who brought it. How many people would say ‘Sister White? No, no, no, that’s the prisoner of the Lord. He used her to speak. Be thou a partaker of the afflictions of the gospel. Yes, it will be an affliction to follow those testimonies. It will be an affliction to the flesh. It will destroy your complacency but don’t be ashamed of it because this is the method by which God wants to prepare us in this day of our time that when that terrible day of the Lord shall come, we will be blameless. In His love, He is holding back the winds of strife, in His compassion, looking down with pity upon us. He had sent a prophet so that we can listen to what He is saying to us while He is pleading our case in the heavenly sanctuary. God grant us a relish to read the Spirit of Prophecy.

Amen.
