The Original Sealing Message

“And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree. And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.” Rev. 7:1-4. Read the rest of this entry

I. When did the Adventists obtain the light on the Sealing Message?

II. When will the Sealing work begin?

III. Will any who have died in the faith since 1848, when that message was received, be reckoned with the 144,000? Read the rest of this entry

The Sealing of the 144,000

By Michael Cudmore

And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father’s name written in their foreheads. And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps: And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth. These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God. Will There Be Mass Martyrdom’s Before the Close of Probation?

Many today say that there will be mass martyrdom’s of the 16 million Adventists before the close of probation to leave a small number, namely 144,000 at the close of probation.

Bible history shows in its always a small remnant that stands up for truth in times of crisis whilst the majority apostatize.

The majority will  join the ranks of the opposition and not be put to death.

Soon God’s people will be tested by fiery trials, and the GREAT proportion of those who now appear to be genuine and true will prove to be base metal. Instead of being strengthened and confirmed by opposition, threats, and abuse, they will cowardly take the side of the opposers. {5T 136.1} Read the rest of this entry

Why Does It Say the 144,000 Do Not Taste Death?

THE TIME OF TROUBLE

God would be honored by making a covenant with those who had kept His law, in the sight of the heathen round about them; and Jesus would be honored by translating, without their seeing death, the faithful, waiting ones who had so long expected Him. {EW 282.2} Read the rest of this entry

The Trials of the 144,000

By M L Andreason

Job

Job was a good man. God trusted him. Day by day he offered sacrifices for his sons. “It may be that my sons have sinned,” he said. Job. 1:4 He was prosperous and enjoyed the blessing of God. Then came “a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them.” Verse 6. A conversation is recorded between the Lord and Satan that concerned Job. The Lord says that job is a good man, which Satan does not deny, but urges that job is God-fearing merely because it pays him to be so. He states that if God will take away His mercies, Job will curse God. Read the rest of this entry

Striving to be among the 144,000

By John Thiel

Let us strive with all the power that God has given us to be among the hundred and forty-four thousand (RH March 9, 1905). {7BC 970.10}

We are to strive to be diligent.

2 Peter 3:7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. Read the rest of this entry

Revelation 20:4 Explained

By Uriah Smith

Revelation 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and [I saw] the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received [his] mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. Uriah Smith and the 144,000

The Lord is at work, and I will not take the work out of His hands into my own hands. This is my prayer for Brother Uriah Smith, that he shall triumph with the third angel’s message, and that the trumpet shall give a certain sound, that a people may be prepared for the great day of God. We have no time to lose. {1888 872.1}

We can easily count the first burden-bearers now alive [1902]. Elder [Uriah] Smith was connected with us at the beginning of the publishing work. He labored in connection with my husband. We hope always to see his name in the Review and Herald at the head of the list of editors; for thus it should be. Those who began the work, who fought bravely when the battle went so hard, must not lose their hold now. They are to be honored by those who entered the work after the hardest privation had been borne. {RY 19.3} Read the rest of this entry

The Sealing of the 144,000 in the Time of the Judgment

By John Thiel

The bible says that the law of God is to be written in our hearts which is the forehead – the frontal lobe of the brain.

Revelation 7:1 And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.  Read the rest of this entry

Stephen Haskell and the 144,000

I believe that in the selling of your books [S.N. Haskell] you want to do just what is right. I believe the Lord will guide you with His counsel.  {PM 205.3}

The books of Daniel and the Revelation should be bound together and published. A few explanations of certain portions might be added, but I am not sure that these would be needed.  This is the suggestion that I made to Elder Haskell which resulted in the book he published.   {PM 98.2} Read the rest of this entry

25. The 144,000 – From Whence Are They?

By John Thiel

Audio: The 144,000

The Godhead has provided facilities that we may appreciate the atonement of Jesus as he has become one with us.  By engaging with Jesus we engage in an apprenticeship with him learning the trade of salvation. This process of sanctification is meant to bring us to what an apprentice finally achieves, to gain mastery over this whole exercise. Read the rest of this entry
