The Conflict Between Israel and Palestine in the Old and New Testament

Kedar

Isaiah 21:16 For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Within a year, according to the years of an hireling, and all the glory of Kedar shall fail:

Here is a time prophecy that has to do with a literal year not a prophetic year. According to the years of an hireling. Who is Kedar that all his glory shall fail?

Genesis 25:13 And these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebajoth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,

Who was Kedar? He was the Arab who came from Ishmael. The Arabs came from Ishmael. Kedar is specifically mentioned to come to his end and none shall help him. All his glory would be taken away within a year. It is interesting to connect Kedar the Arab world and Turkey. Kedar and Mesech are connected and in the ancient world. Mesech was in Turkey. They have always been a trouble spot for the Jews.

God Has a Secondary Will

God has a perfect will, but there is a secondary will. It is a will that comes to deal with the apprentice who thinks he’s smarter than his master. God’s perfect will was that there was no divorce. God’s secondary will was that they could divorce because of the hardness of their heart. Read the rest of this entry

Foreword

As Jesus sat on the Mount of Olives with His disciples almost two thousand years ago, His disciples asked Him about the signs of His coming, and the end of the world.  In Matt 24:6 (first part), He replied, “And ye shall hear of ways and rumours of wars.” Read the rest of this entry

And Follow Their Faith!

Compiled by Hans Fleschutz

In memoriam of those in the Seventh-day Adventist Reform Movement who died for their faith.

Testimonies of faithfulness and steadfastness during Germany’s dark days

Introduction

More than twenty years have passed since the terrible Second World War ended. Much has been spoken and written about that time. In several places memorials have been erected as a reminder of those inexpressible sufferings. In that time of great apostasy when the fury of war did its destructive work and the god of war was worshiped and glorified by nominal Christians, there were still people who had the courage to acknowledge Jesus as their Lord. They knew that salvation could be found in only One–Jesus Christ. Through love for their Lord they fulfilled His will; they “loved not their lives unto death” and courageously stood firm for their precious faith.

Faith is proven in times of testing. Thus the period under the rulership of the swastika was also a hard test for God’s people. The purpose of the Reformation has always been to educate soldiers under the cross. During that trial of World War II, these soldiers of Christ proved themselves victorious – faithful unto death. 7. The Consummation

Daniel 11

By John Thiel, Daniel 11 Series, Study 7, mp3

The conclusion of the Daniel 11 prophecy is cited in the following scripture.

Daniel 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [it] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolator [margin].

We have been studying the activities of the desolators, and at the end of all the desolations that have happened we come to the consummation. “Even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolator.” God has an objective in His whole plan for this world and in the revelation of this prophecy; He is aiming to one end. 6. The Church of That Other Angel

By John Thiel, Light in a Dark Place Seminar, Study 6, mp3

Our seminar is now culminating in the most important prophecies that relate directly to us. We want to identify distinctly what Jesus is saying to us in reference to the church of that other angel – the Revelation 18 angel. The angel represents a ministry, a leadership, as in Ephesians 4:11, which is active in saving God’s people, in the same way that salvation was of the Jews in the time of Christ. We are looking at the salvation of God’s people under the Revelation 18 angel.

In our last study we beheld God’s church of 1844 proceeding to a point in time in which they fail to repent and are spewed out by Jesus Christ. Here Jesus is speaking to the church in His time that was on its way out, and, as we will see, in the Spirit of Prophecy this is exactly the same statement that is used for the Seventh-day Adventist Church: Read the rest of this entry

Brother Against Brother

By John Thiel

This time of our fellowship is focused upon righteousness by faith, the faith of Jesus and we need to understand this.  The crisis ahead of us is called the day of the Lord and is a horrible time for the people that live on this planet. The day of the Lord is when Jesus stands up after pleading for his people in the heavenly sanctuary.

Daniel 12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation [even] to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

The day is at hand. For the lessons to be learned, the work to be done, the transformation of character to be effected, the time remaining is but too brief a span. {Ed 184.2}

The time remaining is too brief a span to develop a character to help us in the time of trouble. Where do we stand today? To understand what the day of the Lord really is we contemplated in our last study ‘Preparing for the Final Crisis’ that it was an experience described like this;

Zechariah 14:12 And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth. 13 And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] a great tumult from the LORD shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his neighbour, and his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbour.  Read the rest of this entry

War and God’s Will

Hosea 13:9 O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself; but in me [is] thine help. 11 I gave thee a king in mine anger, and took [him] away in my wrath.

The children of Israel wanted a King to go ahead of them and fight their wars. Wars that were taking place between the nations. Was this Gods will for his people? What was his perfect will?

Exodus 23:20 Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared. 21 Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name [is] in him. 22 But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries. Jesus and His Treasure

By John Thiel

Exodus 20:13 Thou shalt not kill.

A Peculiar Treasure

Exodus 19:5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine.

Malachi 3:16 Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name. 17 And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. 18 Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not. Is the Church Infallible?

Regarding the testimonies, nothing is ignored; nothing is cast aside; but time and place must be considered. Nothing must be done untimely. {1SM 57.2}

Seventh-day Adventists say it does not matter how far they go in apostasy, they are still the church of God. Sr White said the SDA church is not Babylon. At the time when Sr White said that, the Adventist church was still teaching correct messages. She made it clear that it was the commandment-keeping people that made the church the church of God.

Again I say, The Lord hath not spoken by any messenger who calls the church that keeps the commandments of God, Babylon. {2SM 68.3}

God has a church upon the earth who are His chosen people, who keep His Commandments. TM page 61. Read the rest of this entry

War, Bloodshed, Pestilence

By John Thiel

I was shown the inhabitants of the earth in the utmost confusion. War, bloodshed, privation, want, famine, and pestilence were abroad in the land. As these things surrounded God’s people, they began to press together, and to cast aside their little difficulties. Self-dignity no longer controlled them; deep humility took its place. Suffering, perplexity, and privation caused reason to resume its throne, and the passionate and unreasonable man became sane, and acted with discretion and wisdom. {1T 268.1} Read the rest of this entry

8. The Remnant – Part 2

By John Thiel, Third Angel’s Message, study 8b, mp3

Revelation  3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. 21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

The scripture of Revelation 3:20-21 identifies the people who are responding to the call of Jesus. He is knocking on the heart’s door and they respond to the call. They open their heart and assimilate with Jesus. Then, as they assimilate with Jesus, they can conquer; they can overcome and then become the remnant of verse 21. We want to follow this sequence through in a living history.

Jesus wanted to convey to the disciples in John chapter 6 that He desires to come in to us, and to eat and drink with us. The message of eating and drinking of Jesus and with Jesus, is the very message that separates just like it separated the seventy from the other disciples.

John 6:53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Read the rest of this entry

Israel – The Parable of the Fig Tree

By John Thiel, mp3

Amos 4:12 Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: [and] because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel.

For how long have these words been uttered in the ranks of Adventism? For a very long time already. Those who have been familiar with Adventism all their life will recall that some of the generations that have now passed away used to preach that they expected Jesus to come in their lifetime. But they have passed away. Their parents too have expected that Jesus would come in their lifetime, and He didn’t. The words of our present message come almost as a mocking to many Adventist people today. “Prepare to meet thy God”? Do the young people think that Jesus is coming in their lifetime? But just a moment, are you sure? So many before you thought they were sure too. Is it possible that we here, at such a time as this, with such a message as this, could be as much disappointed that Jesus will not come in our lifetime too? If that same question would have been asked in Sister White’s time, in the time of my grandparents, they would have said, No! just like you are saying no right now. Read the rest of this entry
