11. The Dissatisfied Heart
By John Thiel, Seeking to Please God Series, mp3, pdf
Scripture reading: Deuteronomy 26:11 And thou shalt rejoice in every good [thing] which the LORD thy God hath given unto thee, and unto thine house, thou, and the Levite, and the stranger that [is] among you.
We live in the antitypical day of atonement, in which God has called His people to afflict their souls, to do a deep heart searching, because we are being investigated. And what is Jesus discovering as He investigates? Investigation is quite a chilling term. In the world around us today there are investigators that investigate into certain people’s lives, and it sends a chill through their system. They wonder if something wrong is going to be found somewhere. But this investigative judgment should not chill us; Read the rest of this entry
7. Motive of Love
By John Thiel, Seeking to Please God Series, mp3,
Scripture reading: Revelation 2:2 I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars: 3 And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name’s sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted. 4 Nevertheless I have [somewhat] against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
We are seeking to please God in this time of the hour of God’s judgment, the day of atonement. And we continue to pursue the understanding of the following quote in searching our hearts: Read the rest of this entry
The True Fast in the Judgment
Scripture reading: Joel 2:12 Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye [even] to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: 13 And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he [is] gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil. 14 Who knoweth [if] he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him…?
The message for these times is clearly delineated in the words of Revelation 14. Read the rest of this entry
Rejoicing in Salvation
Scripture reading: Psalm 126:1 When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. 2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them. 3 The LORD hath done great things for us; [whereof] we are glad.
This is the admonition of God to us in the Bible:
Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: [and] again I say, Rejoice. 5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord [is] at hand. 6 Be careful for nothing; Read the rest of this entry
3. Let Him Be Holy Still
By John Thiel, Preparation for the Close of Probation Conference, Study 3, mp3
Revelation 22:11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. 12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward [is] with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
Probation has been given to us to become holy. The period of probation is a period of preparation to be fitted for the citizenship of heaven. The time when we will meet God is when a people will be holy.
Hebrews 12:14 Follow peace with all [men], and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
For us to be fitted to see the Lord we must be holy. That is the work of probation, to bring us to that point. Read the rest of this entry
The Investigation of the Sanctuary
By John Thiel
John 17:1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: 2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. 3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
Are you yearning the eternal life?
“This is life eternal,” Christ said, “that they might know Thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom Thou hast sent.” John 17:3. Why is it that we do not realize the value of this knowledge? Why are not these glorious truths glowing in our hearts, trembling upon our lips, and pervading our whole being? {COL 133.3}
If Christians are interested in life eternal what will they be doing? Where did Jesus turn the attention of the disciples in reference to himself?
Luke 24:25 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: 26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? 27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
