25. The 144,000 — From Whence Are They?

The Godhead has provided facilities that we may appreciate the atonement of Jesus as he has become one with us.  By engaging with Jesus we engage in an apprenticeship with him learning the trade of salvation. This process of sanctification is meant to bring us to what an apprentice finally achieves, to gain mastery over this whole exercise.

Ephesians 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

The apprentice ultimately will gain skill at the hand of the Master.  That is what an apprentice is ultimately meant to gain.  Those who have been justified finally approach to the full glory of that justification.

Proverbs 4:18 But the path of the just [is] as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.
