The First Two Kings of Israel

Scripture reading: 1 Samuel 12:13 Now therefore behold the king whom ye have chosen, [and] whom ye have desired! and, behold, the LORD hath set a king over you. – 13:14 But now [Saul] thy kingdom shall not continue: the LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the LORD hath commanded him [to be] captain over his people, because thou hast not kept [that] which the LORD commanded thee.

We are often ignorant as to the details of this subject, therefore we will look at the detail of this invasion for one important purpose: to learn the character of this king, so that in our continuing studies we may be able to see what sort of a character he had and what the Lord was doing to operate in his life, and so that we may have an object lesson for dealing with our own character.
