18. Prayer Life

God reveals Himself in the Godhead through the atonement. He reveals His holiness, His grace and gentleness and provides the atonement for our sin. He gently intimates to us to start to move but not just to study His goodness. His goodness is meant to cause us to do something.

Matthew 10:24 The disciple is not above [his] master, nor the servant above his lord.

The atonement has made us so that we can pursue the following of Jesus to be like Him because He became like us. In other words, I have given you ample provision, now I invite you to take some definite steps.

James 1:21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. 22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

Do something. Lay apart the past life and receive the engrafted word that will save your soul. As you receive the engrafted word, do the word don’t just talk about it, don’t just hear it, follow me, do what I did.
