The history of the Old Testament is a prophetic sketch for our time.

1 Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

The things written for the children of Israel were written for an ensample to us upon whom the ends of the earth have come. As the picture of the scene of the heavenly sanctuary was an enactment of obedience for the children of Israel in reference to the story of salvation, it was also a prophecy of the work of Jesus in the heavenly sanctuary. 4. Understanding the Sanctuary of the Heart

In the first few studies of this series of Christ in the Sanctuary we saw that Christ is found in three sanctuaries – the Hebrew sanctuary, the sanctuary of His body, the heavenly sanctuary. We also observed the detail of what Christ was according to the Hebrew sanctuary. The furniture and the structure of the Hebrew sanctuary identifying each item which points to Jesus.
