Our beloved sister, Rose Thiel, has passed away this Monday 12th of November, 2018. At such a time, we would want to commemorate her, and let no hands mar the record of such a loving and unselfish life. She has been a mother, a sister, and a friend, but also, and for many years, an untiring companion in labour for the cause of Christ to her beloved and now surviving husband. A pillar in the house of God, a stay to many a wavering soul, she ever stood as a rock to principle, and her kindness often reminded us of the Saviour’s love; she gave to the church a shining, unforgettable example of what it means to fight the battles of the Lord when champions are few and many turn traitors to the cause of truth. Heaven shall remember. No effort was lost, and no tear wasted.

7. Motive of Love
By John Thiel, Seeking to Please God Series, mp3,
Scripture reading: Revelation 2:2 I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars: 3 And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name’s sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted. 4 Nevertheless I have [somewhat] against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
We are seeking to please God in this time of the hour of God’s judgment, the day of atonement. And we continue to pursue the understanding of the following quote in searching our hearts: Read the rest of this entry
10. Affectionate Sabbath Keeping
By John Thiel, Godly Affections That Motivate Series, mp3
Scripture reading: Isaiah 63:7 I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, [and] the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses. … 9 In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old.
The Sabbath is part of the Ten Commandments and becaus it is, it is often looked upon as a legal expectation and people fall into the danger of coming to the Sabbath as to something which is expected of them and they see it as a bit of a burden. So many Seventh-day Adventists people who have grown up in Adventism, look forward to the end of the Sabbath so that they can do what they want and what they like.
This has been a burden in my heart over the years because I was myself brought up in the Seventh-day Adventist church. I grew up with Sabbath keeping and I saw this sad experience among Adventists as I grew up among them. When the Sabbath came to its end and Saturday night came, it was just about a celebration that Sabbath was over; they could now go out and enjoy themselves. But for me Sabbath became an ever-developing and deeper joy and I wondered what the problem was. Read the rest of this entry
The Judgment Has Set
By John Thiel, mp3
Scripture reading: Daniel 7:9 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment [was] white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne [was like] the fiery flame, [and] his wheels [as] burning fire. 10 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.
The judgment has set, the books have been opened;
How shall we stand in that great day
When every thought, and word, and action,
God, the righteous Judge, shall weigh?
A Spectacle For the One I Love
By John Thiel, mp3
Have you ever heard a parent who became ashamed of his child, burst out with words like this, Mary! Stop making a spectacle of yourself? How does one make a spectacle of one’s self, an exhibition of one’s self? When does the parent speak like that? Isn’t it when the child is doing something out of the acceptable code of behaviour? Something that they do that draws the attention of everybody to their child. Or doing something remarkable, something outlandish to make a spectacle of ourselves. The word “spectacle” can also be used if there is something extraordinarily beautiful. It is my prayer to seek to understand how those who are occupied with the love of God are made a spectacle to the world.
The Love Gospel
By John Thiel, mp3
Genuine Love
The love of God is not a watering down of God’s principles; it is an upholding of God’s principles when you carefully look at it. Sadly it is true that many fallen churches uphold the love gospel while they disregard absolute and correct law adherence. They say that the law is not as important as the love of God and because of this, every one who upholds the love gospel is identified with that kind of mentality of the fallen churches. Satan has painted a picture that true law keepers are not loving and loveable Christians; they teach judgment and law, legalism; they are void of God’s love. That is the picture that Satan draws.
Self Versus God’s Love – Part 3
By John Thiel, mp3
A Sinner Is Someone Who Does Not Love God
May it be that the words in the hymn ‘Break Thou the Bread of Life’, we really entirely put into meaning in our life. To do this we want to tune into the wonderful Word of God that will make this a reality. The theme continues with self versus God’s love. God’s love does something; it generates in a sinner’s heart a conflict. The promise of the coming Saviour, the woman’s seed is described:
Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. Read the rest of this entry
Our Commitment to the Three Angels’ Messages
By John Thiel, mp3
How close is it to the coming of Jesus? We have become vividly aware that we are indeed at the very last of the generation that is to see Jesus coming. All that Jesus foretold is culminating and I have a deep sense that during this year and the next, we will be meeting some very serious circumstances. We have been given the assistance of the angels but it is up to us whether we will actually be in tune with them. I would like to spend time with you this hour in considering our commitment to the three angels and their messages and that other angel of Revelation 18.
We are often fascinated in reference to angels, as our Scripture reading expressed – “Are they not ministering spirits?” Angels are actually ministering for us, especially those who are the heirs of salvation. They are “ministering spirits, sent forth to minister” to us. One aspect of their ministry is to communicate light from heaven to us. We see this in the words of the angel of Revelation 1:1 where the message was conveyed from Jesus via the angel to John the revelator and in Daniel 9:20-23 you have Gabriel speaking being sent from heaven to administer light to Daniel. The How of God’s Love
By John Thiel, mp3
The Holy Spirit is here now to answer our prayer and His wooing voice speaks and says my son, my daughter, give me thine heart.
Proverbs 23:26 My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.
We have come to know that this person speaking to us is our loving, loving God. He is wooing by demonstration of His love. Wooing our hearts so that we may fall in love with Him. Then He says, when I have your heart, let your eyes observe my ways. Once He has our hearts, the connection of love is to observe His ways so that I may willingly do them. This has been our contemplation as we have been considering this principle of falling in love with God. How that God’s infinite love captivates our hearts and constrains, compels us to obey Him, to embrace His way of love. Our last study was a new commandment I give you that you may love one another as I have loved you. As we meditated on this, and in my conversation with souls afterwards, I received a huge burden upon my heart that after all the love that God has shown us that is to motivate me, to compel me to follow and embrace that love toward one another, that although He has attracted my heart we still have a problem. That problem is what I want to deal with in this study. Read the rest of this entry
God’s Sacrifice to Save
By John Thiel, mp3
Scripture reading: Romans 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God [be] for us, who [can be] against us? 32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
Our exploration into the infinite love of God takes us now to the Hebrew sanctuary to explore a particular element of God’s love. The holy God, the one that we sing of, where we use those words of His greatness as revealed in the starry skies: Read the rest of this entry
A New Commandment
That dying love Thou gavest me, nor should I ought withhold, dear Lord from Thee. In love my soul would bow, my heart fulfil its vow, some offering bring Thee now.
By John Thiel, mp3
We are to respond to such a love, to sacrifice all for Him. That which we want to meditate about now is to sacrifice something for Him in regards to our relationship. We know well how the Ten Commandments are the laws of relationships, the relationship between God and us and us with one another. These commandments of God have been chronicled for the revelation to all humanity and they are indeed summarised here. Let us appreciate what God has said in reference to these Ten Commandments in their summary.
Deuteronomy 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
6:5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
Leviticus 19:18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD. Read the rest of this entry
An Exposé of God’s Love
By John Thiel, mp3
1 John 5:1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. 2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
The big problem in modern Christianity around us today is that people do not believe that the Ten Commandments can be perfectly kept. They do not believe that Jesus can save us from sin so that we can have sinless perfection. But here the love of God has been given us so that we can believe that, because the love of God is something that motivates to sinlessness and perfect obedience. Read the rest of this entry
7. To Love as I Have Loved You
By John Thiel, Restoration of the Marriage Institution Seminar, Study 7, mp3
When it comes to restoring the marriage institution, God’s remnant people are to be identified by the correct ingredient of the subject of marriage. Marriage has to do with love. We are to love as Christ has loved us as Jesus said it in John;
John 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all [men] know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
Did you notice a credential is identified of Christ’s disciples? The church on earth looks for all kinds of credentials that it is accepted of God. Here are the credentials. The church that is God’s church loves one another as Jesus loved them. Not just loves one another. By this shall all men know as this is a new dimension to love. The Spirit of Prophecy verily identifies this as a credential, or the credential. Read the rest of this entry
