How the Wheat and the Tares are Separated

By John Thiel

What is the purpose of our existence as a separate group of Christians that doesn’t harmonize with churches around us? What pertains to the life of God’s people in the last days? We are over one hundred years beyond the beginning of the time of end. The time of the end commenced in 1798 as we all know.

The Pharisees and Hypocrisy

Christ gave his disciples a warning:

Luke 12:1 Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

The leaven of the Pharisee’s. Leaven is like a yeast. You start with a small bit and as you add it to the bread it pervades and causes things to grow. Hypocrisy if it is not dealt with will leaven the entire being until we grow up full of air, full of pride, full of air like a puffy loaf of bread. In order to make a good loaf of bread you have to give it a good punch and knock the air out of it. However, no hypocrisy can be tolerated in heaven therefore He says beware of the leaven of hypocrisy. We often like to examine ourselves and say that was the leaven of the Pharisee and I’m not a Pharisee so therefore I don’t need to beware of the leaven of hypocrisy. Well the Pharisees didn’t realise they were hypocritical. Read the rest of this entry

The Church Triumphant in Prophecy

By John Thiel, mp3

Previous studies have shown that to be candidates of the church triumphant we need to reach certain qualifications of which these qualifications were enlarged. We also saw the need of submitting to the counsel of men and women of years of experience in the Lord if we will be of such a church. This study concludes this focus with a study of the church triumphant in prophecy. As previously studied, this church is a very difficult one to join and be part of. We tend to be in a time right now that is very perplexing. We live in perplexing times when it comes to identifying God’s church today and recognising such a church. The perplexing detail is expressed in Matthew 24. Jesus is speaking in reference to our time;

Matthew 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.  12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.  13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. Read the rest of this entry

6. The Desolations of Michael the Prince

Daniel 11

By John Thiel, Daniel 11 Series, Study 6, mp3

Throughout the studies so far we have come to appreciate the activities of Michael our Prince.

Daniel 11:22 And with the arms of a flood shall they be overflown from before him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant.

This is the description of Tiberius Caesar coming to his end. He was such a corrupt emperor, and in his efforts to sustain himself he was overpowered by his enemies, and he was finally stifled with a pillow in A.D. 37. In the year A.D. 31 Jesus was crucified. Read the rest of this entry

Why Does It Say the 144,000 Do Not Taste Death?

THE TIME OF TROUBLE

God would be honored by making a covenant with those who had kept His law, in the sight of the heathen round about them; and Jesus would be honored by translating, without their seeing death, the faithful, waiting ones who had so long expected Him. {EW 282.2} Read the rest of this entry

The Theatre of His Grace

By John Thiel

We are to remind ourselves why we are in the church and why we should be part of a church. Why we are going through the experiences we are going through in all our various circumstances? What is happening to me? What is happening to us? Before we became connected with the church many of us had a carefree life of enjoyment. We didn’t pay so much attention to the things we did wrong because we didn’t even know how wrong we were.

The church is the theater of his grace, in which he delights in making experiments of mercy on human hearts. The Holy Spirit is his representative, and it works to effect transformations so wonderful that angels look upon them with astonishment and joy. Heaven is full of rejoicing when the members of the human family are seen to be full of compassion for one another, loving one another as Christ has loved them. The church is God’s fortress, his city of refuge, which he holds in a revolted world. Any betrayal of her sacred trust is treachery to him who has bought her with the precious blood of his only begotten Son. {PH154 18.2}

We are reminded that the church is the theatre of his grace or the operating theatre, his hospital in which he delights in making experiments on human hearts. Read the rest of this entry

5. The Last Urgent Call of the Church Triumphant

By John Thiel, Fourth Angel’s Message, study 5, mp3

The call we are studying is the call of Revelation 18:4 which actually is an echo that has been the appeal of God throughout all the ages.

2 Corinthians 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean [thing]; and I will receive you, 18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. Read the rest of this entry
