God is a King and a king reigns over a kingdom and that kingdom is the kingdom of love. The purpose of our study is to understand that kingdom of love, the gravity in God’s government of love. A kingdom has a king, a legislature and loyal subjects who obey the laws, customs and lifestyle of that kingdom.

As we appreciate this reality, we realise that kingdom is a nation. It was interesting to study the scriptures in the Old Testament to see indeed that God’s kingdom was a nation on earth, the Hebrew nation; and this nation was privileged to have as its king the God of the universe. But very quickly as they took their land in Canaan, in the time of the judges already, these people were not prepared to be contented with such a king as their ruler.

1 Samuel 8:5 And said unto him, Behold, thou art old and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.
