6. The Delusion of Superiority

Scripture reading: 1 Peter 4:7 But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. 8 And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.

We want to meditate upon our need to put away the delusion of spiritual pride. According to prophecy, we are at this present time in a transition from the church militant to the church triumphant. There are people who say they are God’s church and they stand by and prove themselves to be God’s church on earth; but that mentality is a delusion. We should not hold on to the idea that just because we have truth we are necessarily God’s church.

The message for this time is not, “The temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord are we.” Whom does the Lord receive as vessels unto honor? Those who cooperate with Christ, those who believe the truth, who live the truth, who proclaim the truth in all its bearings. {SpM 321.6} Read the rest of this entry

The Power of Compassion

Scripture reading: 1 Peter 3:8 Finally, [be ye] all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, [be] pitiful, [be] courteous: 9 Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.

We are called upon to be a light where we are, in the corner where we are, even in the church. There is a harmony that exists between Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and He has created intelligent beings who are to be infused with that same harmony. We realise that, as earthlings, we are to be prepared to enter into that harmony that the Godhead and the angels have; but to enter there we need to come into the harmony that exists there.
