1. Seeking to Please God

By John Thiel, Seeking to Please God Series, mp3

Scripture reading: Psalm 139:23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: 24 And see if [there be any] wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

The time in which we are living is the day of judgment; and in this day of investigative judgment, the Lord is examining our lives. The typical Day of Atonement was a day in which God’s people were to afflict their souls, to fast; and this is the fasting that we are to engage in, ever since the beginning of the hour of God’s judgment which began in the first angel’s message in 1844. From that time onwards, God was calling upon His people to afflict their souls, to fast; and we have learnt that this meant putting away all foods that were unhealthful and stimulating, and eating only that which is wholesome and good for us; because the fasting, in the hand of God, brings us into a more intimate knowledge of Him and a surrendering state of mind. Our Commitment to the Three Angels’ Messages

By John Thiel, mp3

How close is it to the coming of Jesus? We have become vividly aware that we are indeed at the very last of the generation that is to see Jesus coming. All that Jesus foretold is culminating and I have a deep sense that during this year and the next, we will be meeting some very serious circumstances. We have been given the assistance of the angels but it is up to us whether we will actually be in tune with them. I would like to spend time with you this hour in considering our commitment to the three angels and their messages and that other angel of Revelation 18.

We are often fascinated in reference to angels, as our Scripture reading expressed – “Are they not ministering spirits?” Angels are actually ministering for us, especially those who are the heirs of salvation. They are “ministering spirits, sent forth to minister” to us. One aspect of their ministry is to communicate light from heaven to us. We see this in the words of the angel of Revelation 1:1 where the message was conveyed from Jesus via the angel to John the revelator and in Daniel 9:20-23 you have Gabriel speaking being sent from heaven to administer light to Daniel. 3. God Speaks Through Nature

By John Thiel, The Last Generation Conference, Study 3, mp3

Psalms 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth his handiwork. 2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night showeth knowledge. 3 [There is] no speech nor language, [where] their voice is not heard. 4 Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, 5 Which [is] as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, [and] rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.

The Lord and I

By John Thiel

Psalm 16:11 Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence [is] fulness of joy; at thy right hand [there are] pleasures for evermore.

In this study it is my purpose to bring everything that I have ever preached in the past down to a living companionship with God. The term I just expressed, everything I have ever preached, it is something I’ve appreciated from the book Ministry of Healing;

The mere hearing of sermons Sabbath after Sabbath, the reading of the Bible through and through, or the explanation of it verse by verse, will not benefit us or those who hear us, unless we bring the truths of the Bible into our individual experience. The understanding, the will, the affections, must be yielded to the control of the word of God. Then through the work of the Holy Spirit the precepts of the word will become the principles of the life. {MH 514.1}

This statement we must understand. As we hear the sermons and read the Bible, many people still do not find the true benefit of it all. . I’m hoping and praying the benefit of this will be reached out for by us individually as we are in the presence of God today. God is speaking as follows: Read the rest of this entry

4. Developing Interested Souls for Baptism

By John Thiel, Missionary Training, Study 4

This aspect of is now to develop the interested souls for baptism. We have learnt how to arouse their interest and that is to do with how to find them. Now that you found them, once you have captivated an interest, you then want to win them to a final decision. If you have captivated an interest they will say to you, I want more information, I want Bible study. When you have them at that position, now you have a prospective candidate for baptism. When a person asks for Bible studies, you have a positive candidate. Why do I say this? Bible study produces something.

1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. Read the rest of this entry

God’s Way of Education

That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace: Psalm 144:12.

The Bible in Education by A T Jones is a book about this worlds system of education that we have all been affected by. It all goes back to ancient Babylon and Greece.

True education is more than the pursual of a certain course of study. It means more than a preparation for the life that now is. It has to do with the whole being, and with the whole period of existence possible to man. It is the harmonious development of the physical, the mental, and the spiritual powers. It prepares the student for the joy of service in this world and for the higher joy of wider service in the world to come. Page 13 Education. Read the rest of this entry

The Bible and Science

By John Thiel

We live in an enlightened age compared to the middle ages of superstition. There is great advance today – many blame retardation of knowledge upon religion and the bible – on the contrary – If these people of the dark ages had been permitted to read the bible, the darkness of those ages would have been illuminated by the bible. Rightly Dividing the Word

God has given us Scripture to prevent us being confounded.

Ephesians 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

4:12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

4:14 That we [henceforth] be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, [and] cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; Read the rest of this entry
