05 Judah Invaded

By John Thiel, Lessons from the Life of Nebuchadnezzar Conference, mp3

We are now focusing upon the invasion of Judah by Nebuchadnezzar. We are often ignorant as to the details of this subject, therefore we will look at the detail of this invasion for one important purpose: to learn the character of this king, so that in our continuing studies we may be able to see what sort of a character he had and what the Lord was doing to operate in his life, and so that we may have an object lesson for dealing with our own character. 11 Half-Converted

By John Thiel, Lessons from the Life of Nebuchadnezzar Conference, Audio: mp3

We have come to the point in our contemplation of Nebuchadnezzar where we see him brought a second time to a deep heart-conviction that the God of heaven is to be honoured. How did he come to this second one? Having had the original dream.

Having been privileged that God would show to this heathen king this vision of the image that gave the history of the world after him right through to the very end. Read the rest of this entry

04 Wooden or Iron Yoke

By John Thiel, Lessons from the Life of Nebuchadnezzar Conference, Audio: mp3

Nebuchadnezzar was chosen of God as a servant to execute God’s wrath upon Israel. We have some very important lessons to learn for ourselves in relation to him. Another very important item in these lessons is that God would use Nebuchadnezzar, and Judah could make their time under him tolerable if they would listen to God. Read the rest of this entry

03 Nebuchadnezzar and Judah

By John Thiel, Lessons from the Life of Nebuchadnezzar Conference, Audio: mp3

We now come to know Nebuchadnezzar by the way in which he handled the Jewish nation – Judah. In the time of Isaiah and Jeremiah, Judah was in wicked apostasy. Here are some excerpts from the book of Jeremiah in which the apostasy is being identified by God and by which we see the warnings that were given to Judah. Read the rest of this entry

02 God’s Outreach to Heathen Kings and Nations

By John Thiel, Lessons from the Life of Nebuchadnezzar Conference, Audio: mp3

We puzzle over the thought that God reaches out to heathen kings and heathen nations. The purpose that we have is to study the life of a heathen king. To learn of a heathen king? Read the rest of this entry

01 Nebuchadnezzar’s Bible Chapter

Our Commitment to the Three Angels Messages

By John Thiel, Audio: mp3

How close is it to the coming of Jesus? We have become vividly aware that we are indeed at the very last of the generation that is to see Jesus coming. All that Jesus foretold is culminating and I have a deep sense that during this year and the next, we will be meeting some very serious circumstances. We have been given the assistance of the angels but it is up to us whether we will actually be in tune with them. I would like to spend time with you this hour in considering our commitment to the three angels and their messages and that other angel of Revelation 18.

We are often fascinated in reference to angels, as our Scripture reading expressed – “Are they not ministering spirits?” Angels are actually ministering for us, especially those who are the heirs of salvation. They are “ministering spirits, sent forth to minister” to us. One aspect of their ministry is to communicate light from heaven to us. We see this in the words of the angel of Revelation 1:1 where the message was conveyed from Jesus via the angel to John the revelator and in Daniel 9:20-23 you have Gabriel speaking being sent from heaven to administer light to Daniel. 01 A Chance to Choose

Audio: mp3

The Bible tells us that we should always ask for the old paths.

Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where [is] the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk [therein]. Jeremiah 6:16

We are admonished to ask our fathers and elders.

Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will show thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee. Deuteronomy 32: 7

If I have to ask my father, then how did my father know? He had to ask his father and so on. If we follow this principle that the Bible lays out, we end up having to ask Adam. What’s happening, what is the right way? Read the rest of this entry

In the Church but Still in Babylon

0806018

Audio: mp3

There are two classes of people in the world, a majority and a minority. We will look at the majority. The majority is likened to a city. There are more people that live in the city than the country so the city incorporates the majority. Mexico City has 21 million living in one city which is more than the population of Australia.

Revelation 16:19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

Here is a majority in three parts. What are the three parts that incorporate the majority of the world?

Revelation 16:13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs [come] out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

Here we have three divisions. The city was divided into three divisions and here is the dragon which is what? Paganism. The beast is Catholicism and the last one is apostate Protestantism, the false prophet. False Protestants. In these three divisions paganism is idolatry. It is worshipping something else other than the living God. In paganism is collected all the religions of the world bar two.

The Majority and the Minority

Catholicism is a mixture between pagan worship and Christianity. It is a blending of the two. The false prophet is the Christian faith that has gone into apostasy. These three segments incorporate the whole world. Everyone comes into one of these segments. The world is divided. There are Muslims against Christians and vice versa. The minority is united, not divided. They have one faith, one Lord and one baptism. Read the rest of this entry

The Wine of Babylon Versus The Blood of Jesus

Audio: mp3

The saving of souls is to be our occupation and how to become saved ourselves comes by understanding what the Word says. The purpose of humanity is to do the will of the Father, to know by experience the things that we are meant to do in these very last days. Two weeks ago I knocked on a door and did some mechanical work for a Pastor. I asked him what he thought about the 1888 message. He replied ‘I don’t care about the past, all I care about is what happens tomorrow!’ and with these words he closed the conversation and we parted. I was bewildered by his response because the past in Bible history is the key that munlocks what we are to do today and tomorrow. Read the rest of this entry

1. The Judgment Regarding Babylon

0801069

By John Thiel, Audio: The Judgement Regarding Babylon

The second angel’s message is necessary because the first angel’s message was not heeded. In rejecting the first angel’s message, a warning needed to be given in the second angel’s message – Babylon is fallen, is fallen that great city because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

That message was first proclaimed by the servants of God in the summer of 1844. As a result, many left the fallen churches. In connection with this message the midnight cry. [SEE MATTHEW 25:1-13.] was given: Behold, the Bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet Him. In every part of the land light was given concerning this message and the cry aroused thousands. It went from city to city, from village to village, and into the remote country regions. It reached the learned and talented, as well as the obscure and humble. This was the happiest year of my life. My heart was full of glad expectation; but I felt great pity and anxiety for those who were in discouragement and had no hope in Jesus. We united, as a people, in earnest prayer for a true experience and the unmistakable evidence of our acceptance with God. {CET 51.1}

May we also seek earnestly for a true experience with God in Christ Jesus as we continue to study this second angel’s message and find an answering chord in our heart to come out of her my people. Read the rest of this entry

5. Ancient Babylon

0801088

By John Thiel, Audio: Ancient Babylon

In our last study ‘Papal Infiltration and Domination’ what took place was not merely on a political or on a church organisational level but also on a personal level. There was a new modelling of the cause. That’s how it happened in the early Christian church. It was again repeated in the Protestant churches:

To secure converts, the exalted standard of the Christian faith was lowered, and as the result a pagan flood, flowing into the church, carried with it its customs, practices, and idols. As the founders, those who possessed the true spirit of reform, pass away, their descendants come forward and new-model the cause. While blindly clinging to the creed of their fathers and refusing to accept any truth in advance of what they saw, the children of the reformers depart widely from their example of humility, self-denial, and renunciation of the world. Thus the first simplicity disappears. A worldly flood, flowing into the church, carries with it its customs, practices, and idols. GC 384 Read the rest of this entry

6. Ancient and Current Practises of Babylon

0801018

By John Thiel, Audio: Ancient and Current Practises of Babylon

Under the second angel’s message Babylon is always applied to the people or the church having once been faithful becoming corrupt from Noah’s time right through. This message is appropriate for people in modern times as it was way back there. Ancient Babylon was the city that set the stage for all the others to follow. Rome today is still affected by the events of the past and also for the future. Ancient Babylon has affected the world all through history until now.

Their children, along with new converts, came forward and new-modelled the cause. To secure converts, the exalted standard of the Christian faith was lowered, and as the result a pagan flood, flowing into the church, carried with it its customs, practices, and idols. Five Celestial Messengers

By John Thiel, Audio: mp3 (incomplete)

So long Thy power hath blest me, sure it still Will lead me on.
O’er moor and fen, o’er crag and torrent, till The night is gone,
And with the morn those angel faces smile,
Which I have loved long since, and lost awhile!

We are longing so much to meet and to be in peace with those angels in eternity. God’s people have cried throughout the ages, How long, O Lord. However just prior to His coming there are very few who cry that. Those who claim to be preaching the coming of Jesus are saying, My Lord delayeth His coming. No one wants to say that if they are longing for His soon coming. For us, we live in the closing scenes. We live in the time of the voice of Revelation 18:4. Verse 4 is part of the Revelation 18 angel (from verses 1 to 4) which has been sounding ever since 1888, and the powerful conveyance of pure truth has taken place ever since that time, and it is swelling to a loud cry. The final loud cry is verse 4:

Revelation 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. Read the rest of this entry
