5. Judah Invaded

By John Thiel, Lessons from the Life of Nebuchadnezzar Conference, Study 5, mp3

We are now focusing upon the invasion of Judah by Nebuchadnezzar. We are often ignorant as to the details of this subject, therefore we will look at the detail of this invasion for one important purpose: to learn the character of this king, so that in our continuing studies we may be able to see what sort of a character he had and what the Lord was doing to operate in his life, and so that we may have an object lesson for dealing with our own character. 11. Half-Converted

By John Thiel, Lessons from the Life of Nebuchadnezzar Conference, Study 11, mp3

We have come to the point in our contemplation of Nebuchadnezzar where we see him brought a second time to a deep heart-conviction that the God of heaven is to be honoured. How did he come to this second one? Having had the original dream.

Having been privileged that God would show to this heathen king this vision of the image that gave the history of the world after him right through to the very end. Read the rest of this entry

4. Wooden or Iron Yoke

By John Thiel, Lessons from the Life of Nebuchadnezzar Conference, Study 4, mp3

Nebuchadnezzar was chosen of God as a servant to execute God’s wrath upon Israel. We have some very important lessons to learn for ourselves in relation to him. Another very important item in these lessons is that God would use Nebuchadnezzar, and Judah could make their time under him tolerable if they would listen to God. Read the rest of this entry

3. Nebuchadnezzar and Judah

By John Thiel, Lessons from the Life of Nebuchadnezzar Conference, Study 3, mp3

We now come to know Nebuchadnezzar by the way in which he handled the Jewish nation – Judah. In the time of Isaiah and Jeremiah, Judah was in wicked apostasy. Here are some excerpts from the book of Jeremiah in which the apostasy is being identified by God and by which we see the warnings that were given to Judah. Read the rest of this entry

2. God’s Outreach to Heathen Kings and Nations

By John Thiel, Lessons from the Life of Nebuchadnezzar Conference, Study 2, mp3

We puzzle over the thought that God reaches out to heathen kings and heathen nations. The purpose that we have is to study the life of a heathen king. To learn of a heathen king? Read the rest of this entry

Our Commitment to the Three Angels’ Messages

By John Thiel, mp3

How close is it to the coming of Jesus? We have become vividly aware that we are indeed at the very last of the generation that is to see Jesus coming. All that Jesus foretold is culminating and I have a deep sense that during this year and the next, we will be meeting some very serious circumstances. We have been given the assistance of the angels but it is up to us whether we will actually be in tune with them. I would like to spend time with you this hour in considering our commitment to the three angels and their messages and that other angel of Revelation 18.

We are often fascinated in reference to angels, as our Scripture reading expressed – “Are they not ministering spirits?” Angels are actually ministering for us, especially those who are the heirs of salvation. They are “ministering spirits, sent forth to minister” to us. One aspect of their ministry is to communicate light from heaven to us. We see this in the words of the angel of Revelation 1:1 where the message was conveyed from Jesus via the angel to John the revelator and in Daniel 9:20-23 you have Gabriel speaking being sent from heaven to administer light to Daniel. 1. The Judgment Regarding Babylon

By John Thiel, Second Angel’s Message, study 1, mp3

The second angel’s message is necessary because the first angel’s message was not heeded. In rejecting the first angel’s message, a warning needed to be given in the second angel’s message – Babylon is fallen, is fallen that great city because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. 5. Ancient Babylon

By John Thiel, Second Angel’s Message, study 5, mp3

In our last study ‘Papal Infiltration and Domination’ what took place was not merely on a political or on a church organisational level but also on a personal level. There was a new modelling of the cause. That’s how it happened in the early Christian church. It was again repeated in the Protestant churches:

To secure converts, the exalted standard of the Christian faith was lowered, and as the result a pagan flood, flowing into the church, carried with it its customs, practices, and idols. As the founders, those who possessed the true spirit of reform, pass away, their descendants come forward and new-model the cause. While blindly clinging to the creed of their fathers and refusing to accept any truth in advance of what they saw, the children of the reformers depart widely from their example of humility, self-denial, and renunciation of the world. Thus the first simplicity disappears. A worldly flood, flowing into the church, carries with it its customs, practices, and idols. GC 384 Read the rest of this entry

6. Ancient and Current Practises of Babylon

By John Thiel, Second Angel’s Message, study 6, mp3

Under the second angel’s message Babylon is always applied to the people or the church having once been faithful becoming corrupt from Noah’s time right through. This message is appropriate for people in modern times as it was way back there. Ancient Babylon was the city that set the stage for all the others to follow. Rome today is still affected by the events of the past and also for the future. Ancient Babylon has affected the world all through history until now.

Their children, along with new converts, came forward and new-modelled the cause. To secure converts, the exalted standard of the Christian faith was lowered, and as the result a pagan flood, flowing into the church, carried with it its customs, practices, and idols. Five Celestial Messengers

By John Thiel, mp3 (incomplete)

So long Thy power hath blest me, sure it still Will lead me on.
O’er moor and fen, o’er crag and torrent, till The night is gone,
And with the morn those angel faces smile,
Which I have loved long since, and lost awhile!

We are longing so much to meet and to be in peace with those angels in eternity. God’s people have cried throughout the ages, How long, O Lord. However just prior to His coming there are very few who cry that. Those who claim to be preaching the coming of Jesus are saying, My Lord delayeth His coming. No one wants to say that if they are longing for His soon coming. For us, we live in the closing scenes. We live in the time of the voice of Revelation 18:4. Verse 4 is part of the Revelation 18 angel (from verses 1 to 4) which has been sounding ever since 1888, and the powerful conveyance of pure truth has taken place ever since that time, and it is swelling to a loud cry. The final loud cry is verse 4:

Revelation 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. Read the rest of this entry
