5. Administering Church Membership

“Christ for the world we sing,
The world to Christ we bring, with joyful song;
The newborn souls, whose days, reclaimed from error’s ways,
Inspired with hope and praise, to Christ belong.”

By John Thiel, Missionary Training, Study 5

Once we have brought souls in, they have been found, they have been won and now we want to keep them. They have been reclaimed from errors ways and we are now looking at the subject of administering church membership. We study with them to bring them to conversion and new birth and then they become church members. We are to now administer church membership. What is church membership? Is it not becoming part of the body of Christ? In our labour of souls we have brought them to the point if they have really been baptised, if self has died and they have risen as new born people, through the studies we have brought them through, they now should have found a living experience through Jesus. The question is now, how to go on from here? They have been brought to an understanding and process of Bible studies, is there anything more to gain? Read the rest of this entry

3. Methods to Find Interested Souls

By John Thiel, Missionary Training, Study 3

There are four main points of our study. We must have something in order to gain souls and now we are going to consider how to find souls, how to win souls and how to keep them. We must understand the time in which we are living in. It is the time of the closing of the world’s history. The work of finding interested souls has been taking place over a long period of time. Now the most pressing work is to glean. We’ve been living in the time of the harvest for a long time. The harvest has been reaped but at the end of the harvest they were to glean the last grains of wheat. Not a grain was lost. We have the work of gleaning the last few people that will respond to God’s message. When we discover how sinful we are, we will have compassion on others. Read the rest of this entry

4. Developing Interested Souls for Baptism

By John Thiel, Missionary Training, Study 4

This aspect of is now to develop the interested souls for baptism. We have learnt how to arouse their interest and that is to do with how to find them. Now that you found them, once you have captivated an interest, you then want to win them to a final decision. If you have captivated an interest they will say to you, I want more information, I want Bible study. When you have them at that position, now you have a prospective candidate for baptism. When a person asks for Bible studies, you have a positive candidate. Why do I say this? Bible study produces something.

1. Personal Heart Preparation

By John Thiel, Missionary Training, Study 1

Something to Give
There are people out there who are seeking to find true meaning and understanding from God but they don’t know it. God’s church must have it. Missionaries must have that which every soul out in the world is lacking. The world cannot supply it. We cannot give if we don’t have.

You must receive light before you can give light. {TM 155.1} Read the rest of this entry
