The Drying Up of the River Euphrates

By John Thiel, mp3, pdf

Scripture reading: Revelation 16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed [is] he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

This statement is couched among the words of the sixth plague of Revelation 16. This is the pouring out of the sixth plague:

Revelation 16:12 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared. Read the rest of this entry

The Truth About Armageddon

By John Thiel, mp3

Scripture Reading 1 Timothy 4:16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

The counsel of Apostle Paul to Timothy is a counsel we all need to take heed of.

That Scripture tells us something about the importance of doctrine. What is it? It says in taking heed to the doctrine and continue in it thou shalt save thyself; and all those that hear thee. How important is doctrine? It has to do with your and my salvation.

In a time when doctrine, teachings of the Bible, are in total confusion, this Scripture tells us we had better make sure that the doctrine we have is correct or we cannot be saved. Read the rest of this entry

Worthy to Escape

By John Thiel, mp3

Jesus spoke and said:

Luke 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

We have been made aware in the study of prophecy that the children of the veterans of World War Two, that generation, will experience the return of Jesus. It will happen within the life span of that generation. It shall not pass, said Jesus. Read the rest of this entry

2. All These Things Fulfilled

By John Thiel, The Last Generation Conference, Study 2, mp3

Our last study was an in-depth search of the words of Jesus. We came away with abundance of proof that the seed of the veterans of the Second World War, that generation will not pass until all things shall be fulfilled. We are confronted with a truth today that Jesus specifically addresses us here now. He spoke to the disciples of His time and He took them through the whole vast line-up of prophecies to our moment now. Let us reflect on His words. He said I am with you even unto the end of the world. He is speaking to you His disciples in the last days as well. The ‘you’ embraces His disciples back there, and His disciples today. Here today Jesus is speaking directly to you and me. What is He saying?

Luke 21:32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.

He is speaking to you and me.

Luke 21:33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. 34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and [so] that day come upon you unawares.

14. The Crushing Rock

By John Thiel, The Consummation of the Everlasting Covenant Conference, Study 14, mp3

Scripture Reading: Romans 16:25 Now to him that is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which hath been kept in silence through times eternal,

Our scripture reading we have just read holds the key to unlock the summary of our conference topic that when the trumpet angel is to sound the mystery of God should be finished. What is the mystery of God that should be finished at the sounding of the seventh trumpet?

Romans 16:25 Now to him that is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which hath been kept in silence through times eternal, 26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

The mystery is to be finished in the seventh trumpet in which we are living at the very end of. Way back in all eternity of the past before any creation, the Godhead planned to create. His plan to create posed a potential disaster. Why should He create when He knew that there could and there would arise a defection among the created intelligences? He would create no robots but intelligent minds who had power to reason and to choose. With that freedom to be given to living creatures, it was in inevitable that something would arise. He knew ahead of time.

God’s Dealings With the Nations

Proverbs 21:1 The king’s heart [is] in the hand of the LORD, [as] the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.

Scripture Reading: Acts 7:24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; 25 Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;  26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; 27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:

Nebuchadnezzar was a man that discovered how mysterious God’s ways are. As all have the issue of pride, Nebuchadnezzar had the greatest kingdom known to mankind and he had an issue with pride. God loved Nebuchadnezzar and He wanted him to be in His kingdom and so He did what He could to save him. After Nebuchadnezzar had a dream of a tree being cut down Daniel said;

Daniel 4:24 This [is] the interpretation, O king, and this [is] the decree of the most High, which is come upon my lord the king:  25 That they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet thee with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.  26 And whereas they commanded to leave the stump of the tree roots; thy kingdom shall be sure unto thee, after that thou shalt have known that the heavens do rule. 27 Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine iniquities by showing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of thy tranquillity. 28 All this came upon the king Nebuchadnezzar. 29 At the end of twelve months he walked in the palace of the kingdom of Babylon. 30 The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty? 31 While the word [was] in the king’s mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, [saying], O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee. 32 And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling [shall be] with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will. 33 The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles’ [feathers], and his nails like birds’ [claws]. 34 And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion [is] an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom [is] from generation to generation: 35 And all the inhabitants of the earth [are] reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and [among] the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou? 36 At the same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine honour and brightness returned unto me; and my counsellors and my lords sought unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me.  37 Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works [are] truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase. The Key to the King of the North

Who invaded Egypt at the time of the end 1798?  The French under the leadership of Napoleon. On the 5th of March following, Bonaparte received the decree of the Directory relative to the expedition against Egypt. He left Paris May 3 and set sail from Toulon the 29th, with a large naval armament consisting of 500 sail, carrying 40,000 soldiers and 10,000 sailors. July 5, Alexandria was taken, and immediately fortified.   Did the king of the south (Egyptian Mamelukes) push at him (Napoleon)?  In the battle of the pyramids the Mamelukes contested the field against the French. In the vision of Daniel 11 and 12 the king of the south is in all cases the kingdom that occupies Egypt the land south of Palestine.

The time of the end in all cases being the year 1798 and the king of the north in all cases being the power that occupies Egypt. In Daniel 11:5-15 the power occupying Egypt was the Ptolemaic dynasty.  In Dan 11:25 it was the Roman Power under the leadership of Mark Antony and Cleopatra.  While in Dan 11:40 it was the Mamelukes who ruled Egypt as a kingdom of the Ottoman Sultan.  This leads to the conclusion that the king of the north must be whatever power occupies the territories of Asia Minor, Syria and Mesopotamia (the land North of Palestine).  In Dan 11:6-15 it was the Seleucid dynasty while in Dan 11:40 it was the Ottoman Turks.

7. The Consummation

Daniel 11

By John Thiel, Daniel 11 Series, Study 7, mp3

The conclusion of the Daniel 11 prophecy is cited in the following scripture.

Daniel 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [it] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolator [margin].

We have been studying the activities of the desolators, and at the end of all the desolations that have happened we come to the consummation. “Even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolator.” God has an objective in His whole plan for this world and in the revelation of this prophecy; He is aiming to one end. The River Euphrates

By Stephen Haskell

The prophetic guide carried the prophet still farther, and revealed the contest between modern nations; he saw the final struggle between the north and the south, and pointed to Constantinople as the seat of contention in the last days. Nations should turn their gaze toward the present occupants of that city and patiently await the removal of the Turk into the “glorious land.” For “he shall come to his end and none shall help him.” The Story of Daniel the Prophet, p. 285.

Armageddon – A Topic Poorly Understood

Revelation 16:12 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.

There is a study of history that is not to be condemned. Sacred history was one of the studies in the schools of the prophets. In the record of His dealings with the nations were traced the footsteps of Jehovah. So today we are to consider the dealings of God with the nations of the earth. We are to see in history the fulfillment of prophecy, to study the workings of Providence in the great reformatory movements, and to understand the progress of events in the marshalling of the nations for the final conflict of the great controversy. {8T 307.2} Read the rest of this entry

Orchestrations of God’s love and Earthly Wars

By John Thiel

Our object in meditation in the love of God is chronicled in Ephesians.

Ephesians 3:16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; 17That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. 10. The Plagues

By John Thiel, Third Angel’s Message, study 10, mp3

What happens to the people who are the people of God is that they go through a terrible time of trouble, as we saw in our last study. In this study we are beholding the picture of those whom God denounces in the third angel’s message. We are now identifying the particular subject of God’s wrath:

Revelation 14:9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive [his] mark in his forehead, or in his hand, 10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: Read the rest of this entry

11. The Battle of Armageddon

By John Thiel, Third Angel’s Message, study 11, mp3

The seven last plagues are the outpouring of God’s wrath. We are looking at a particular component of those plagues – the battle of Armageddon. The message of the third angel deals with this very subject.
