Hebrews 10:19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
10:20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
What is this saying to us? That we now are to come to the heavenly Sanctuary which is a new and living way. While the earthly Sanctuary was made of inanimate objects, it was a dead representation. This is a new and living way. We would therefore expect that everything of the heavenly Sanctuary was living – correct? Not symbolic, not shadow, but the very image. A living representation.
This launches out our thinking, the living way. The Hebrews was inanimate, Gods must be animate. In the Hebrew symbolism, the activity of the inanimate was to picture the activity of the animate. In the Hebrew Sanctuary, sins were transferred in symbol.
