We have come to the point in our contemplation of Nebuchadnezzar where we see him brought a second time to a deep heart-conviction that the God of heaven is to be honoured. How did he come to this second one? Having had the original dream.
Having been privileged that God would show to this heathen king this vision of the image that gave the history of the world after him right through to the very end. Read the rest of this entry

We have a very wonderful God who provides us with such great hope. We are saved by hope. It is a hope in which although we feel condemned and the condemnation is upon us, there is hope through Jesus Christ. Secondly, it is the hope that is spoken of in Titus.
Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Here is another hope; looking for the appearing of Jesus Christ, the second coming of our Lord and Saviour. When these two hopes are both challenged in our mind, when Jesus is there searching His children through and through with as it were eyes of flame, there is a challenge that is expressed, a challenge that comes to all of us at some point or another; Who shall be able to stand?
Many people think that Jacob’s trouble is just bang, there it is. Is it true that Jacob’s trouble is something that swells into greater and more intense activity? This is what we want to examine.
In the 1840s onwards, perplexities began to threaten. In 1848 a world war was threatening but then it just suddenly stopped. From that time as we look back through the history, we got to the time of 1914 and there was the First World War and all the horrendous experiences that were involved there. But they were even small in comparison to the Second World War and to the terrible time of the depression that happened in between. Then it moved on to a time in which there was the cold war with men’s hearts failing them for fear of the things that were coming on the planet. Now we are seeing them gathering more and more momentum.

Scripture Reading: Jude 1:9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
The messages that come from this pulpit are broadcast on the internet and it is my intention at this time to deliberately address the wider congregation together with those seated before me. Every sermon I have preached in the past has come from a deep reliance on God’s inspiration and a rendition of His written word, yet via an imperfect instrument of earthen clay. Scripture Reading: 1 Thessalonians 5:16 Rejoice evermore. 17 Pray without ceasing. 18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
How real is the hymn – One Thing I of the Lord Desire. Do you? Such desire, such yearning to be pure to be clean. As we go on week by week and year by year under this message, we still find something that falls short and we need cleaning and washing. We don’t know what it is any more to come into a complete and fulfilling victory that we would stop sinning. We appreciated last week that God has illuminated us with an understanding that it is the will that needs to be placed upon God’s will. Today I want to go further in understanding God’s will of love. A heart that has fallen in love with God, it yearns to do God’s will; is that not right? I love God so much I want to… that is my desire. That is what this hymn was describing; I want to be in perfect harmony with God’s will yet because sin is there, it is a condition in us.
Romans 7:21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. 22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: Read the rest of this entry

We all acknowledge that JESUS is the head of His visible church. As we live at a time of unprecedented confusion of church organizations who claim to be God’s visible church; does it do us well if we really enter the arena of contestants with that claim? How does the Head of the church teach us to think?
“If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true. There is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true.” John 5:31, 32. Read the rest of this entry
