The Shepherd of the Everlasting Covenant
Scripture reading: Hebrews 13:20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, 21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom [be] glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Wandering Sheep
God has likened His people to sheep. Do you like the idea that you and I are sheep? What do we know of sheep? They need to be fenced in, or they need a shepherd, someone that they can follow. The quality of a sheep is that it will follow the shepherd. We are living today in a time when sheep are fenced and sheep are driven by dogs and motorbikes and such like, and the sheep are jostled and pushed about. Or you see them in the big trucks with the legs sticking out, all uncomfortable. The lesson to be learned from sheep is very difficult to pick up today, because we don’t see them with shepherds. But Jesus was giving a story of a shepherd with his sheep as an object lesson for us. Read the rest of this entry
The Ongoing Assurance of Justification
By John Thiel, mp3
Scripture Reading: Hebrews 9:15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions [that were] under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
Our True Condition
Our meditation is based upon a most remarkable comfort and assurance. The human dilemma in which we all are involved in, is ignorance of their true condition. Read the rest of this entry
7. The Wisdom of the Wise
By John Thiel, Facing Last Day Perils Conference, Study 7, mp3
We have been realising the harvest of what has been sown and that is met in these last days. The end of this world has produced perils which come as a result of what has been sown. The seeds of dissension produced strife, confusion, and heartache. They produced a devouring of one another. This is what transpires in the last days, people doing this. In this time of harvest, in the end of the world, we are in need of being able to find our way through. The future studies will be the subtleties of Satan that are manifested in these last days and the bundling experience that is written of for the last days. As we go through these experiences as are written, we need wisdom to understand those subjects. We now recall the words of Daniel chapter 12 when Daniel stands in his lot just now. This is speaking about the total closing of the events of the end. There are a people standing there.
God’s Intimacy with Believing Sinners
By John Thiel, mp3
Our focus has been upon the great love that God has for us. I wish to go over material that we have shared in the past.
I have observed over the years of ministry that what is written to Ezekiel about his ministry is very similar in today’s circumstances where God says that the people come as they do, hear you and say come and hear the word of the Lord. They come and hear and find you as a man that speaks like a beautiful song playing well on an instrument and they rejoice to hear. Their lips give much love but they do not do what you say. This is the case in this modern society in which we live. The actual full participation and action that the great love of God is calling for, is emotionally accepted but not practiced.
1. The Everlasting Covenant
By John Thiel, The Consummation of the Everlasting Covenant Conference, Study 1, mp3
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
The word consummation, it is an important word. A question, what does it mean? Where does it come from?
Daniel 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [it] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
The consummation being determined. There is a point in time that is already sealed for the time appointed determined for the consummation. What does it mean? The meaning of the word consummation is completion. Gaining a desired end or perfection, gaining that perfect thing. When Adam and Eve fell, all believers from that point on to this point in time have yearned for that desired end that was promised in Genesis. What was it? The fall had taken place and God stepped in to take away from Satan his prey right there where he says to the serpent. Read the rest of this entry
The Value of the Old and New Testament
The Old and New testaments have been separated into two and yet they are one lesson book. In this study the two covenants will be examined in terms of their application to our lives. What is a testament? A testament is a person’s Will that does not come into being until a person dies. Read the rest of this entry
Faith, Grace, Works – The Just Shall Live by Faith
Hebrews 10:35 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward. 36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. 37 For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry. 38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if [any man] draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. 39 But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.
4. Understanding the Sanctuary of the Heart
By John Thiel, The Sanctuary Series, study 4, mp3
In the first few studies of this series of Christ in the Sanctuary we saw that Christ is found in three sanctuaries – the Hebrew sanctuary, the sanctuary of His body, the heavenly sanctuary. We also observed the detail of what Christ was according to the Hebrew sanctuary. The furniture and the structure of the Hebrew sanctuary identifying each item which points to Jesus.
