When the Trial We Feared Happens

By John Thiel, mp3, pdf

Scripture reading: 1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God [is] faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear [it].

I love the words of Jesus to His disciples when He came to them after they had been without Him for a while; He said to them, Fear not. When we come across some experience, some trial, some loss, some threatening doom, as the one which is affecting the world at this present time; when we come across the storms of the last days, then it is that we must hear the voice of the Spirit, saying to us, Fear not. When God Doesn’t Answer Prayer

By John Thiel

Have you ever prayed for something earnestly and it doesn’t happen? How do you feel? Perhaps you have prayed for someone who is sick and you prayed in the name of Jesus and you really pleaded but instead of getting better they get worse and then they died. How did you feel? Apostle Paul had an experience like this. He had a thorn in his flesh that God did not take away.

2 Corinthians 12:7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. 8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. 9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Everything God says is recorded by those instrumentalities. Under the altar the people who were slain for their faith are crying. Read the rest of this entry

18. Prayer Life

By John Thiel, First Angel’s Message, study 18, mp3

God reveals Himself in the Godhead through the atonement. He reveals His holiness, His grace and gentleness and provides the atonement for our sin. He gently intimates to us to start to move but not just to study His goodness. His goodness is meant to cause us to do something.

Matthew 10:24 The disciple is not above [his] master, nor the servant above his lord.

The atonement has made us so that we can pursue the following of Jesus to be like Him because He became like us. In other words, I have given you ample provision, now I invite you to take some definite steps.

James 1:21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. 22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

Do something. Lay apart the past life and receive the engrafted word that will save your soul. As you receive the engrafted word, do the word don’t just talk about it, don’t just hear it, follow me, do what I did.

John 12:26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will [my] Father honour. Read the rest of this entry
