The Quickening of Our Mortal Body

By John Thiel, mp3

Scripture Reading: Romans 8:10 And if Christ [be] in you, the body [is] dead because of sin; but the Spirit [is] life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. How God Heals Disease

By John Thiel

The Lord steps in and restores when people think everything is lost. We are to walk with God by appreciating how to make the word of God the avenue by which we walk with Him. We take one text and ascertain the thought and then meditate on it until it becomes our own. Through that avenue we make our walk with God.

How has it been with you and walking with the Lord? It is the sense of God’s presence that actually is a prescription of our disease. Psalms 16 deals with the sense of God’s presence.

Psalms 16:8 I have set the LORD always before me: because [he is] at my right hand, I shall not be moved. 9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. 10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. 11 Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence [is] fulness of joy; at thy right hand [there are] pleasures for evermore. Life Giving, Healing Love

By John Thiel, mp3

God Loved the Sinner

The love of God extended to us needs frequent consideration; why? Why do we need to think about the love of God all the time; frequently? The reality is that unless we do, we will miss receiving it because God’s love is an unobtrusive love. He never presses His love upon us. If we are sick mentally, spiritually or physically, God has given us love to heal us but we need to actually drink that in. In His unobtrusive love, consider how unobtrusive this is. Many times we just express the words of John 3:16 and we miss some precious elements within them.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,

Who does God love? The world, that means every human being He loves so much that He was prepared to give them His only begotten Son; but will all the world benefit?

John 3:16 …that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

The Healing Rays of God’s Love

By John Thiel, mp3

We are in the presence of the great physician and we need to receive the healing rays of His love. As we contemplated in our previous message, how to tap into that love of God so that we can have it and fulfil the command that we should love as we are being loved, we reflected on Christ’s example how He could only do as He saw the Father do. He could only do as He heard the Father. As He saw, and as He heard; He could do nothing of Himself. This expression as I see and as I hear my Father do, suggests a very intimate communion. To see and to hear and to relate to continually. We cited Moses’ experience in reference to this:

Hebrews 11:27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.

Moses made an experience which was relating to an invisible being. Someone you can’t hear with your ear or see with your eye, but he did as Jesus did.

Moses gained that which went with him throughout the years of his toilsome and care-burdened life,—a sense of the personal presence of the Divine One…. {SD 94.2} Read the rest of this entry

Chocolate

“Cacao is the seed of a fruit of an Amazonian tree called Theobroma, which literally means “cacao, the food of the gods”.”

E. J. Waggoner:

“And you never use any stimulants of any kind?” {September 20, 1900 EJW, PTUK 608.4}

None whatever. {September 20, 1900 EJW, PTUK 608.5}

“Do you not drink tea or coffee?” {September 20, 1900 EJW, PTUK 608.6}

No; I never use them any more than I would any other poison. {September 20, 1900 EJW, PTUK 608.7}

“But you drink cocoa and chocolate?” {September 20, 1900 EJW, PTUK 608.8}

No; I have no use for them; for while they contain a little food, they contain more that is injurious. {September 20, 1900 EJW, PTUK 608.9}

“What, then, do you take for a ‘pick me-up’?” {September 20, 1900 EJW, PTUK 608.10}

I don’t take anything, for I don’t need it. I have something that is far better, namely, a “hold-me-up.” {September 20, 1900 EJW, PTUK 608.11}

“What is that?” {September 20, 1900 EJW, PTUK 608.12}

The continual presence of the fulness of the life of the Lord. “When I said, My foot slippeth, Thy mercy, O Lord, held me up.” And the mercies of the Lord are “new every morning.” It is far better to take something that will keep you always fresh and buoyant, than to take something that picks you up only to throw you down again, as all narcotic stimulants do. Now I have something that I take that is better than wine. {September 20, 1900 EJW, PTUK 608.13}

“What is that, pray? I should like it myself; I thought you must have something to enliven you, though I can’t imagine what it can be, if you do not take anything containing alcohol, nor tea, coffee, cocoa, or chocolate.” {September 20, 1900 EJW, PTUK 608.14} Read the rest of this entry

7. The Power of Godly Thinking

By John Thiel, Let This Mind Be in You Conference, Study 7, mp3

Proverbs 4:21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 4:22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

We are living in the time of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in the last moments of earth’s history and as we are under this outpouring, we want to be aware and co-operating with that.

Proverbs 4:20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22 For they [are] life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. 23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it [are] the issues of life. 24 Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee. 25 Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.

Who is speaking? It is the Holy Spirit. Read the rest of this entry

6. Seeing Through Satan’s Glasses

By John Thiel, Let This Mind Be in You Conference, Study 6, mp3

Sin has done something to our human nature and makeup.

The infinite value of the sacrifice required for our redemption reveals the fact that sin is a tremendous evil. Through sin the whole human organism is deranged, the mind is perverted, the imagination corrupted. Sin has degraded the faculties of the soul. Temptations from without find an answering chord within the heart, and the feet turn imperceptibly toward evil. {8T 312.2}

   As the sacrifice in our behalf was complete, so our restoration from the defilement of sin is to be complete. There is no act of wickedness that the law will excuse; there is no unrighteousness that will escape its condemnation. The life of Christ was a perfect fulfillment of every precept of the law. He said; “I have kept My Father’s commandments.” John 15:10. His life is our standard of obedience and service. {8T 312.3} Read the rest of this entry

5. Healthy Imagination

By John Thiel, Let This Mind Be in You Conference, Study 5, mp3

We have gained the important appreciation that we need to admit God as the monarch upon the throne of our most holy place in our body temple. That the Shekinah glory should shine forth from within. He needed to be enthroned there. What did we identify was the ensuing exercise thereafter?

4. Healthy Thinking

By John Thiel, Let This Mind Be in You Conference, Study 4, mp3

We are exploring the mind of Jesus. Let this mind be in you. We know in theory we are to have the mind of Christ but when it comes to the mind of Christ in living reality we are all confused. We think we know as intellectually we have accepted the fact but in the frontal lobe it takes some time to get it right as there are so many voices. When we have given the Lord the right to rule in our mind, the monarch of our mind, a battle goes on. We hear so many different voices and we are to discern which voice we are going to listen to. As a man thinketh in his heart so is he.

A little child has not developed his brain enough to prevent itself from falling over or making some silly remarks or being expressive of an impulse which is childish but it is nonetheless a perfect child. We need to explore the mind of Christ in regards to healthy thinking. To identify what is healthy thinking in contrast to unhealthy thinking. As he thinketh in his heart so is he. You want to be healthy, perfectly healthy? As you think in your heart that is how healthy you will be. Is this scripturally true in regards to health?

3. The Monarch of Your Mind

By John Thiel, Let This Mind Be in You Conference, Study 3, mp3

Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

The hymn ‘Prince of Peace’ conveys the messages of God. We are to not only worship the Lord as the great king of the universe, but to understand that He the monarch of the universe is to be the monarch of our mind, to be a throne therein. He who created us, created us with that very design in mind from the beginning, every creature that He created it is written of; Read the rest of this entry

Questions Answered Regarding the Vegan and Vitamin B12

vitamin-b12

Written by Barbara O’Neil, from Misty Mountain Health Retreat Australia

What is vitamin B12?

  • Vitamin B12 is made in the digestive tract of animals, and is also present in the bacterial growth of the nose, mouth, base of tongue and upper bronchial tree. Vitamin B12 is also synthesized from food with the aid of intestinal bacteria.

Microorganisms, primarily bacteria, are the only known organisms that manufacture B12. These bacteria often live in bodies of water and soil. Animals get B12 by eating food and soil contaminated with these microorganisms. These bacteria also live inside animals’ digestive tracts. Plants do not require B12 for any function, and therefore have no mechanisms to produce or store B12. In animals, B12 is normally attached to a protein (very large molecules made up of amino acids) either for transport or storage.

About 60% of the total amount of B12 in the body is stored in the liver and 30% is stored in the muscles. The body has a special circuit between the digestive tract and the liver. Bile, which is mad in the liver and needed to digest fat, is secreted into the beginning of the small intestine. It is then reabsorbed at the end of the small intestine and taken back to the liver where it is used again. This circuit is called enterohepatic circulation. Omnivores normally eat about 2-6 mg of B12/ day and their liver normally excretes 5-10 mg/day via their bile. Healthy omnivores reabsorb about 3-5 mg B12 from the bile. A vegan with B12 absorption problems will develop B12 deficiency in 1-3 years because absorption problems will block the enterohepatic circulation. Adult vegans decrease their bile excretion to as low as 1 mg /day and reabsorb almost 100% of it, thus delaying B12 deficiency for 20-30 years. Jack Norris B.S. Weeding Out the Myths – Is Marijuana Safe?

By Health Action

With all the publicity surrounding cocaine use and other hard drugs, marijuana doesn’t get as much attention as it used to.

Yet an estimated 20 million Americans smoke it regularly-over three times more than use of cocaine.

Because smoking pot is so widespread, popular myths have sprung up about it. Many think marijuana is a harmless “recreational” drug. The experts disagree. If you’re thinking about smoking it, check the facts, not the myths, and think again.

Myth: Smoking marijuana is safer than smoking cigarettes. Read the rest of this entry

Salt

The chemical and mineral composition of our blood and saline fluids have an amazing similarity to sea water. Sea water contains 84 mineral elements. These same 84 mineral elements are found in our bodies in almost the same quantities. 24 of these elements are known to be ‘essential’ for life (i.e., you will die if any are missing). Whenever a dietary deficiency of any of these essential elements occur, the cells in our bodies lose ions. A loss of ions in our cells causes imbalances, a breakdown of the cell regeneration and growth process, and loss of the cells themselves, which does lead to nervous disorders, brain damage, muscle damage or illness.
