Sorrow Not – How to Deal with Death

1 Thessalonians 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep,that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

Notice it says sorrow not. God doesn’t want us to be sad or have sorrow as do others who have no hope when someone dies.

Why? It’s going to keep happening and get worse:

Psalm 91:7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

We are going to see a lot more death and catastrophe of loved ones as we get closer to the end.

When God Doesn’t Answer Prayer

Have you ever prayed for something earnestly and it doesn’t happen? How do you feel? Perhaps you have prayed for someone who is sick and you prayed in the name of Jesus and you really pleaded but instead of getting better they get worse and then they died. How did you feel? Apostle Paul had an experience like this. He had a thorn in his flesh that God did not take away.

2 Corinthians 12:7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. 8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. 9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.
