About

1 Corinthians  1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. .

Sabbath Sermons is a small independent of the various denominations but not organisation, resource information ministry in Australia dedicated to spreading the special ‘testing truths’ for our time.

This website is administered by a lay member (not any of the preachers).

…with pen and voice (AND INTERNET) we are to proclaim the truth to the world, not in a tame, spiritless way, but in demonstration of the Spirit and power of God. {Ev 121.2}

This website is not a Shepherds Rod, Anti-trinitarian, 2520, or the Feast Day movement.

God has a church. It is not the great cathedral, neither is it the national establishment, neither is it the various denominations; it is the people who love God and keep His commandments. “Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them” ( Matthew 18:20). Where Christ is even among the humble few, this is Christ’s church, for the presence of the High and Holy One who inhabiteth eternity can alone constitute a church. { UL 315.5}

What do we believe on The Godhead?

Response to criticism and sarcasm against John Thiel’s ministry:

“The thing that has affected my heart in regards to things put on the internet from these lips of clay is that Gods cause has been marred. I have examined very closely the things I need to do where God cause has been marred.

The messages that come from this pulpit are broadcast on the internet and it is my intention at this time to deliberately address the wider congregation together with those seated before me. Every sermon I have preached in the past has come from a deep reliance on God’s inspiration and a rendition of His written word, yet via an imperfect instrument of earthen clay.”

2 Corinthians 4: 5For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake. 6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to [give] the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

When in your discourses, you denounce with bitter sarcasm that which you wish to condemn, you sometimes offend your hearers, and their ears are turned from hearing you further. Carefully avoid any severity of speech that might give offense to those you desire to save from error; for it will be difficult to overcome the feelings of antagonism thus aroused…. { Ev 304.2}

There are some who indulge in levity, sarcasm, and even mockery toward those who differ with them. Others present an array of objections to any new view; and when these objections are plainly answered by the words of Scripture, they do not acknowledge the evidence presented, nor allow themselves to be convinced. Their questioning is not for the purpose of arriving at truth, but was intended merely to confuse the minds of others. { GW92 128.1 }

To reject the Lord’s servants is to reject Christ Himself. {DA 489.1}

Those serious applications cause me to tremble.

The minister stands as God’s mouthpiece to the people, and in thought, in word, in act, he is to represent his Lord. When Moses was chosen as the messenger of the covenant, the word given him was, “Be thou for the people to Godward.” [Exodus 18:19.] Today God chooses men as He chose Moses, to be His messengers, and heavy is the woe resting on the one who dishonors his holy calling, or lowers the standard set for him in the life and labors of the Son of God. {GW 20.1}
