Who Shall Be Able to Stand?

By John Thiel, mp3

Scripture Reading: Psalm 76:7 Thou, [even] thou, [art] to be feared: and who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry?8 Thou didst cause judgment to be heard from heaven; the earth feared, and was still, 9 When God arose to judgment, to save all the meek of the earth.

How shall we stand in that great day? To be able to stand in that great day, not only in the judgment, but at His coming. Very soon God’s wrath is to be poured upon this planet if it has not had some sprinklings delivered already. When Jesus comes again and it is so close, He is coming according to verse 9 When God arose to judgment, to save all the meek of the earth, who may stand when He does so?

Revelation 6:17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

These are very sobering thoughts. Let us consider the import at this time of those words. Who shall be able to stand? You and I standing before Him, let us examine our chances. Indeed these words apply to us at this time. This is our time.

Revelation 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; 13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. 14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. 15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; 16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: 17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

We know very well through the study of the Scriptures and prophecies that according to this sixth seal, we dwell in between verse 13 and 14. In verse 13 the last of the signs that ushered in the message of 1844 – the three angels’ messages, the stars of heaven fell well before there was a great earthquake and the sun became black as sackcloth. The Lisbon earthquake, the dark day and then the falling of the stars even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, this has happened. The next event is verse 14; the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

Where do we dwell? We dwell in between verses 13 and 14. We find ourselves since that time right at the very cusp of the events soon to unfold in reference to the heavens being rolled back. This period with the serious question of verse 17 is ours – now. The question as it was posed is answered in Revelation 7. As the question is asked, the great day of His wrath is come, who shall be able to stand? The next picture that is painted is the angels are holding back the winds of strife because the question is so serious, who is able to stand? It must be answered in chapter 7 – the sealing of the 144,000.

Revelation 7:1 And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree. 2 And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, 3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.

If these winds would not have been held back, who would have been able to stand? For a people to stand in the day of God’s wrath, there was the work of these angels to prepare a people to stand in that time. It is significant that the parallel of verses 13 and 14 in chapter 6 comes into focus in the following.

Revelation 7:13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? 14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

These are none other than the 144,000 who finally stand and are declared to be able to stand. They have washed their robes during that period of time between verse 13 and 14 of chapter 6. The angels have been working with them and by God’s grace they can stand because they have washed their robes and made them white having come out of great tribulation ever since the time between these two verses. There is the period of time that God’s people are awakened to these messages. That means you and I are at the very last end of that period.

It is now that we must keep ourselves and our children unspotted from the world. It is now that we must wash our robes of character and make them white in the blood of the Lamb. It is now that we must overcome pride, passion, and spiritual slothfulness. It is now that we must awake and make determined effort for symmetry of character. “Today if ye will hear His voice, harden not your hearts.” We are in a most trying position, waiting, watching for our Lord’s appearing. The world is in darkness. “But ye, brethren,” says Paul, “are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.” It is ever God’s purpose to bring light out of darkness, joy out of sorrow, and rest out of weariness for the waiting, longing soul. {5T 215.4}

What are you doing, brethren, in the great work of preparation? Those who are uniting with the world are receiving the worldly mold and preparing for the mark of the beast. Those who are distrustful of self, who are humbling themselves before God and purifying their souls by obeying the truth these are receiving the heavenly mold and preparing for the seal of God in their foreheads. When the decree goes forth and the stamp is impressed, their character will remain pure and spotless for eternity. {5T 216.1}

Now is the time to prepare. {5T 216.2}

That was written in the 1880’s. What about now?

The seal of God will never be placed upon the forehead of an impure man or woman. It will never be placed upon the forehead of the ambitious, world-loving man or woman. It will never be placed upon the forehead of men or women of false tongues or deceitful hearts. All who receive the seal must be without spot before God–candidates for heaven. Go forward, my brethren and sisters. I can only write briefly upon these points at this time, merely calling your attention to the necessity of preparation. Search the Scriptures for yourselves, that you may understand the fearful solemnity of the present hour. {5T 216.2}

I am sharing with you a fearful solemnity this hour. If you followed carefully through these words, I read them very carefully because I don’t want anybody to think that I am standing here telling you. This is the word of God that is telling us that it is now. It applies to us now that we must keep ourselves and our children unspotted from the world. It is now that we must wash our robes of character and make them white in the blood of the Lamb. What is involved? It is now that we must overcome pride, passion, and spiritual slothfulness. It is now that we must awake and make determined effort for symmetry of character. Who is able to stand? The people who must stand in that day which is now. We are already in the time in which people cannot stand any more. They have demonstrated it.

These solemn words written back there apply now to us at five minutes to midnight. They apply to us. Are we able to stand? What is required? Our robes must be washed, they must be clean from pride, passion, and spiritual slothfulness. We hear the Lord today, we must not delay, we must not harden our hearts or else we will miss out. This is the sobering reality upon every heart, including mine who is sharing this with you. We are dwelling in darkness and it is ever God’s purpose to bring light out of darkness, joy out of sorrow, and rest out of weariness for the waiting longing soul. Haven’t we experienced these perplexing dark experiences that is just about impossible to drag ourselves out of? They are only going to get worse as we come closer and closer to D day, and people can hardly stand now.

What are you doing, brethren, in the great work of preparation? Those who are uniting with the world are receiving the worldly mold and preparing for the mark of the beast. Those who are distrustful of self, who are humbling themselves before God and purifying their souls by obeying the truth these are receiving the heavenly mold and preparing for the seal of God in their foreheads. {5T 216.1}

Now is the time to prepare. What must the preparation be?

The seal of God will never be placed upon the forehead of an impure man or woman. It will never be placed upon the forehead of the ambitious, world-loving man or woman. It will never be placed upon the forehead of men or women of false tongues or deceitful hearts. All who receive the seal must be without spot before God–candidates for heaven. {5T 216.2}

They will stand in that great day. It is now that we are to wash our robes in the blood of the Lamb which comes as a result of coming out of great tribulation. The great tribulation out of which these come is addressed by Jesus so we can see exactly where we stand according to His word.

Luke 21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

Can you see what Jesus is encompassing here? These are the signs of the sixth seal. This is the sixth seal in its beginning and its continuous unfolding. What happens as we dwell in between verses 13 and 14? There is distress of nations, perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring.

Luke 21:26 Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. 27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

Can you read the description of our experience and the experience of God’s people who were our parents and our grandparents? The problems that are eating away people’s ability to stand if they are not preparing for it thoroughly are here.

Matthew 24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

Is this present truth? Is iniquity abounding around us? We don’t need to describe it do we? The world is iniquitously bound and we are surrounded by it in the darkness. The consequence is the love of many shall wax cold. What is our call?

Matthew 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

The same shall stand. To stand in this period of time when these perplexities as described in Luke 21 as distress of nations, perplexity, sea and waves roaring, men’s hearts failing them for fear, as this is all interlaced in our present time, who shall be able to stand?

We need total unselfishness, total lack of pride and total subordination, otherwise we will not stand. I weep over this because I see people constantly missing the point of the present message, constantly looking at subjects from a perspective short of this. To endure to the end, to stand, are you able?

Luke 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

This is a direct relevant expression of who shall be able to stand. It is those who watch and pray always, so that they will be able to stand. This is no easy rocking-chair experience any more. If ever there was an easy experience for God’s people, there was a time of just enjoying the beautiful message, but now it is an extremity through which according to the sixth seal, people are not going to stand in the bliss of everything going fine in their life. There won’t be things going fine in our lives at all at this present time. As I look back at my own life as I was growing up in the Seventh Day Adventist church. I was in the rocking-chair experience thinking how lovely. When the reality reached me, I didn’t know what hit me. By God’s grace I am still here holding on tight for my life.

Oh, for a living, active faith! {5T 215.3}

When the word Oh is expressed, it is because there is so little of it, there is a need of it.

We need it; we must have it, or we shall faint and fail in the day of trial. Ibid

What will we do? We need a living, active faith. Because we need it, we must have it or we shall faint and we shall fail in that day.

The darkness that will then rest upon our path must not discourage us or drive us to despair. Ibid

This was written in the 1880’s. This is what has happened. Seventh Day Adventists who received these messages when the darkness came in the First World War and in the Second World War and ever after, (I was born after the Second World War), there is a darkness that rests upon their path that will be of a nature to discourage and drive us to despair. Have you felt it?

It is the veil with which God covers His glory when He comes to impart rich blessings. We should know this by our past experience. In that day when God has a controversy with His people this experience will be a source of comfort and hope. Ibid

Oh how much these words mean to me! How much I have been comforted and been given hope as the darkness got thicker and thicker in my own experience. As I witness and labour for others, I know what the darkness is in their experience. We have had to sit together many times. It is getting worse. Are you able to stand? How are we standing now? Does the perplexity that overwhelms us cause us to move by passion and pride? I am referring directly to the previous quote. If we have passion which is not overcome, if we have pride that is not overcome, the darkness will not be a blessing to us. On the other hand, if we are aware of this message, we will realise as my passions and as my character defects become displayed before me in the darkness, then I am being blessed by God so that I can still conquer them now by the application of total humility and submission when nothing makes sense any more to rely on the wisdom of God and to follow His instruction.

A Dream

I will tell the story of a dream. Many years ago in New Zealand I had a dream of the end of the world. I was in downtown Auckland and the big buildings were crashing down around me and I was running away from the terrible destructive shards of glass that were coming down. I was running up the hill towards Karangahape Road. Those of you in Auckland know what I am talking about, with houses all around, they were all crumbling and I was working my way through the rubble. It was a horrifying experience but the worst experience was that as I was trying to rationalise my way through this dreadful experience and nothing in my rational mind made sense any more. My brain came to a point where I could not even think straight any more. As I was waking up out of that dream and I was still in the state of total mind bending thought patterns that could not even think straight any more, there was that sweet voice, “can you still trust me now?”

I know now after all the experiences I have gone through after that dream, what the Lord meant. In our rational thinking in these times in which we live, we discover after a period of time that every path that I have tried to follow through rationally comes to a dead end and nothing makes sense. I cannot rationalise through anything anymore. All I have got is in the statements of God’s word and this is the reason why in the ministry I rely on every word that comes out of God’s mouth as I present it. I do not present my own opinion because I am scared to mislead people. This is a serious life and death reality that we must stand alone on the plain directions of God’s word because if we don’t, if we try to rationalise our mind through those statements and begin to think they don’t mean this, they mean that and the other thing, then I am sorry, we will not stand. We must live by every word that proceeds out of God’s mouth at this time more than at any other time.

The darkness, which will, according to all rational thinking, be so dark that you can’t reason your way through it anymore with all the knowledge you have got. We are conscious of the statement that in the last days, just before the coming of Jesus, God will work very much out of the common order of things. Why? It is because everything is out of the common order of things. That is what the Lord showed me; nothing is any more like it used to be, it is all absolutely twisted up and to try to work according to the common order of things is impossible. That is why the Lord said, can you still trust me now? I am going to have to lead you through the labyrinth of madness in which you are living. It was a madness in my mind, I couldn’t make sense any more. This is the time we are in. Who is accounted worthy, who is able to stand? Let us look at the experience since the First World War, since the time of 1914.

I was shown the inhabitants of the earth in the utmost confusion. War, bloodshed, privation, want, famine, and pestilence were abroad in the land. As these things surrounded God’s people, they began to press together, and to cast aside their little difficulties. Self-dignity no longer controlled them; deep humility took its place. Suffering, perplexity, and privation caused reason to resume its throne, and the passionate and unreasonable man became sane, and acted with discretion and wisdom. {1T 268.1}

My attention was then called from the scene. There seemed to be a little time of peace. Once more the inhabitants of the earth were presented before me; and again everything was in the utmost confusion. {1T 268.2}

Can you see that she saw what took place in the First World War? War, bloodshed, privation, want, famine, and pestilence. What happened over that period of time? Were there pestilences? What was the terrible pestilence in the time of the early 1900’s? A lot of people were suffering polio. That was something they didn’t know until then. Then there were huge flu’s that they didn’t have answers for and they had to work to recover through them all. The whole world was brought into the experience of war. There was want and privation between the First World War leading up to the Second World War; it was called the Great Depression. It has all happened. The horror that the people went through drove them to places of distraction. What happened in the First World War to the Adventist people? The church fell. The ones that became rational and tried to press together were the ones that stood on the original platform of Adventist truth. Then there was a little time of peace from 1918 to 1939.

Strife, war, and bloodshed, with famine and pestilence, raged everywhere. Other nations were engaged in this war and confusion. War caused famine. Want and bloodshed caused pestilence. Ibid

That was the Second World War. Where are we today?

And then men’s hearts failed them for fear, “and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth.” Ibid

Was that what Jesus said in Luke 21? The stars falling, the earth distressed, nations in perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring, men’s hearts failing them for fear for looking after those things which are coming on the earth for the powers of the heavens shall be shaken. We have just had a Spirit of Prophecy declaration that the time in which the majority of people have failed already is past. As these words come to me as I was thinking to share the message which I have been sharing along the way as I traveled, it struck me that we look for the future when we are already in it. Where are we now? We are in the aftermath of the two World Wars. Everything is out of the common order of things, hearts are failing men for fear of the things that are coming on the earth. How is it with your soul, how is it with my soul? Are we able to go on in a blissful peace now?

How is it with your love, how is it with my love? Is it running a bit thin? The perfect restfulness in the love of God trusting Him lovingly through this madness, where is our fervour, our enthusiasm? Is it beginning to become tired? As we struggle through the things of the experiences not only outside but in the church, are you getting tired? Is it getting a bit too much? As we go through the madness of not only those things, but also what we see in the world today in the marriage institution how mad it is. We love each other, we get married and then we fall apart. It is everywhere; the challenge is even in the church. Who shall be able to stand? Only those who humble themselves, who will cease from trying to push their own pride, who will cease to push self, who will humble themselves so implicitly that they are totally unselfish and they are only there to serve the Lord and that is all. Only those people can stand. Who is God going to come and save? It is the meek.

2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

As we behold the chaos around us, nothing making sense any more. Examine what will hold me. Is it the faith, do I have it? Yes we have it. Christ has installed it into our hearts. Christ in one cannot quarrel with Christ in the other. We must bear the peculiarities of others. Do we have peculiarities? Every one of us has them. Christ is there, Christ is in us. Examine yourself whether Christ is operating or self is operating. If Christ is operating, we will bear the infirmities and we will bear the peculiarities of each other. We will stick together, we will press together. We will stand faithful through the blackness and darkness that wants to discourage us. What I am sharing with you is what keeps me going. I can look you all in the face and rejoice because I know I am coming to church to meet with people in whom Christ is.

We want to keep on pursuing the Jesus that will make our perplexities melt. Are we washing our robes of character in the blood of the Lamb? Is Jesus all the world to me? You want to read that beautiful hymn. What is that, that Jesus is all the world to me? What is it in literal experience? For Jesus to be all the world to me in this madness, in this darkness.

I thank God for the Spirit of Prophecy:

I was shown the people of God, and saw them mightily shaken. Some, with strong faith and agonizing cries, were pleading with God. Their countenances were pale, and marked with deep anxiety, expressive of their internal struggle. Firmness and great earnestness were expressed in their countenances, while large drops of perspiration fell from their foreheads. Now and then their faces would light up with the marks of God’s approbation, and again the same solemn, earnest, anxious look would settle upon them. {1T179.3}

Evil angels crowded around them, pressing their darkness upon them, to shut out Jesus from their view, that their eyes might be drawn to the darkness that surrounded them, and they distrust God and next murmur against Him. Their only safety was in keeping their eyes directed upward. {1T 180.1}

I remember that magpie God sent me its beak pointing up to heaven and singing, up John, look up, then pointing its beak directly at me body language declaring, did you get that?

Angels of God had charge over His people, and as the poisonous atmosphere from the evil angels was pressed around these anxious ones, the heavenly angels were continually wafting their wings over them, to scatter the thick darkness. Ibid

Then she describes those who weren’t participating in it.

Some, I saw, did not participate in this work of agonizing and pleading. They seemed indifferent and careless. They were not resisting the darkness around them, and it shut them in like a thick cloud. The angels of God left these, and I saw them hastening to the assistance of those who were struggling with all their energies to resist the evil angels, and trying to help themselves by calling upon God with perseverance. But the angels left those who made no effort to help themselves, and I lost sight of them. As the praying ones continued their earnest cries, a ray of light from Jesus would at times come to them, to encourage their hearts, and light up their countenances. {1T 180.2}

This is all has been taking place; it is not for the future. The only ones that survive so far have been those who have been concentrating like this on Jesus.

My attention was then turned to the company I had seen, who were mightily shaken. I was shown those whom I had before seen weeping and praying with agony of spirit. The company of guardian angels around them had been doubled, and they were clothed with an armor from their head to their feet. They moved in exact order, firmly, like a company of soldiers. Their countenances expressed the severe conflict which they had endured, the agonizing struggle they had passed through. Yet their features, marked with severe internal anguish, now shone with the light and glory of heaven. They had obtained the victory, and it called forth from them the deepest gratitude, and holy, sacred joy. {1T 181.3}

Their numbers decreased and all the rest of it that followed after that and the battle goes on. Did you notice that they were striving, agonising and were pale in their faces? We often only refer to that time of Jacob’s trouble after the close of probation, but what we read here is actually the time of Jacob’s trouble that has been unfolding and is only going to become more intense. These people were in agony and were perspiring in this description. It is the actual experience of making Jesus everything to me in this mad time.

Jeremiah 30:5 For thus saith the LORD; We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace. :6 Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child? wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness? 7 Alas! for that day [is] great, so that none [is] like it: it [is] even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.

There has been nothing like it before. Who shall be able to stand? Those who meekly persevere in this mighty shaking will be able to stand. He will be saved out of it. What is the actual experience in this as we are struggling? What is transpiring inside of these people that makes them struggle and perspire like that? I thank God that everything is spelled out for us so that as it happens to us, we do not need to despair because Jesus has already told us what would happen.

He who is truly penitent does not forget his past sins, and grow careless about them as soon as he has obtained forgiveness. {ST, November 26, 1894 par. 7}

Have you been through that? The Lord has shown you your sins and then you say, I’m so sorry and then they are gone. The Lord has removed them as though we had never sinned before and we think now I am alright. You are not going to stand if you do that according to this.

On the contrary, the clearer the evidence he has of divine favor, the more he sees to regret in his past life of sin. Ibid

As these people move along, they have been forgiven but as the Psalmist said, my sin is ever before me. He has already been forgiven but his sin is always before him. He has a clear evidence of the divine favour the more he sees to regret in his past life of sin.

He loathes, abhors, and condemns himself, and is more and more astonished that he should have continued in rebellion so long. He renews his repentance toward God, while he grasps more decidedly the hand of Jesus Christ, and finds that repentance is a daily, continued exercise, lasting until mortality is swallowed up of life. He who thus repents, appreciates the righteousness of Christ as above silver and gold, above every earthly tie and affection. Ibid

How long does this last for? It lasts until we will meet Jesus. This experience is the experience that will cause God’s people to stand. When we have once been forgiven, we will never become cocky sure of ourselves ever again. We will know that I have done that and I have a condition that if that thing came up again, I am going to fall again because that is my condition. I will not say I have been forgiven and now I am fine. It is described here; I will see more and more my sin of the past and I will abhor myself. The nearer I come to Jesus the more I am forgiven, the more I will feel so unworthy because I will see the amazing reality of my sinful condition and the amazing mercy of God. I will repent daily. This repenting exercise lasts until mortality is swallowed up in life. He who thus repents, appreciates the righteousness of Christ as above silver and gold, above every earthly tie and affection. Oh to meditate on these things! We will survive; we will stand in that day if this is our experience, and only this. The moment I feel very proud that I have been forgiven, I won’t stand. I will fall on my face again very quickly. If I am conscious of my sins of the past and I will walk very watchfully, carefully and very repentantly. More and more intensely as I go along. Then the message is that we will stand there when Christ comes and mortality is swallowed up in life.

God’s people say exactly the same as the wicked say “who is able to stand” when they see Him coming.

The 144,000 were all sealed and perfectly united. On their foreheads was written, God, New Jerusalem, and a glorious star containing Jesus’ new name. At our happy, holy state the wicked were enraged, and would rush violently up to lay hands on us to thrust us into prison, when we would stretch forth the hand in the name of the Lord, and they would fall helpless to the ground. Then it was that the synagogue of Satan knew that God had loved us who could wash one another’s feet and salute the brethren with a holy kiss, and they worshiped at our feet. {EW 15.1}

Soon our eyes were drawn to the east, for a small black cloud had appeared, about half as large as a man’s hand, which we all knew was the sign of the Son of man. We all in solemn silence gazed on the cloud as it drew nearer and became lighter, glorious, and still more glorious, till it was a great white cloud. The bottom appeared like fire; a rainbow was over the cloud, while around it were ten thousand angels singing a most lovely song; and upon it sat the Son of man. His hair was white and curly and lay on His shoulders; and upon His head were many crowns. His feet had the appearance of fire; in His right hand was a sharp sickle; in His left, a silver trumpet. His eyes were as a flame of fire, which searched His children through and through. Then all faces gathered paleness, {EW 15.2}

Here is the time for the redeeming of the meek and the meek are pale. They were pale because they were meek. They didn’t come up before God and say, you save us now, that’s wonderful.

…and those that God had rejected gathered blackness. Then we all cried out, Ibid

All cried out, the black and the white.

“Who shall be able to stand? Is my robe spotless?” Then the angels ceased to sing, and there was some time of awful silence, Ibid

They were not perfectly happy. It is Jacob’s trouble to the last moment. There is true confession of heart until mortality gives place to immortality.

…when Jesus spoke: “Those who have clean hands and pure hearts shall be able to stand; My grace is sufficient for you.” Ibid

They were reminded that they had confessed their sins and washed their robes and know that they have repented and repented. The words of Jesus now finally say, yes you shall be able to stand because His grace is sufficient for you. I have forgiven you, you have abhorred yourself, you have loathed yourself, you have known how weak and frail and sinful you are. My grace is sufficient for you, I have come to redeem the meek.

At this our faces lighted up, and joy filled every heart. And the angels struck a note higher and sang again, while the cloud drew still nearer the earth. Ibid

That is when Jesus raised the other dead and then there was immortality. All faces gather paleness. There is an intensified experience lasting until mortality being swallowed up. Who shall be able to stand? Only those who are meekly confessing their sins who are not looking at others saying what about you? Those who are not looking at others to try to correct them are fully occupied in a meek spirit of dealing with themselves. He is coming to save them, not the proud, not the judgmental, but the meek. Therefore, let us conclude with two Scriptures which will help us to stand.

James 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. :8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse [your] hands, [ye] sinners; and purify [your] hearts, [ye] double minded. 9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and [your] joy to heaviness. 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. 11 Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of [his] brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.

Humble yourselves therefore, according to those words.

1 Peter 5:5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all [of you] be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

My grace is sufficient for you He says to the meek and humble.

1 Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Who shall be able to stand? It is very obvious. May God help us not to forget. Let us walk in that meekness as it is instructed here and when the day comes we will continue to stand under all the pressure that comes upon us.

Amen.

    I John 4:19
    We love because He loved us first.

    von hier gibt’s nicht.
    from here, it isn’t given.

    This contrasts the often spoken line of “we cannot get there from here”.
    Who can stand in this darkness? Who can get there in this darkness?
    We must Know the Light and allow it to guide us through our Love and Faith.

    The Heart provides the Light with which we See.
    Hardship and darkness nearly encourage reliance on Faith.
    With Faith, one may arrive through His Light.

    Those with Eyes to See, Heart to Hear and Faith to follow.

    Doubt not lest you walk in darkness.
    Reach not an Hand unto the darkness in Lew of Faith.
    Rest your eyes and See with your Heart.
    Walk in Faith.
    Know the Light and give yourself unto His Light that you may arrive in His Grace.

    In these Times we must sharpen our Sight.

    A wonderful sermon, once again.
    Thank you for helping the people of the world.
    Those whom Love, may have to rely on Faith to See,
    as our eyes do weep for others not seeing.
