06 The Harvest

mp3 The Harvest

We must by willing to take up our cross and deny ourselves and follow Jesus for the path of faith requires a lot of hardship. We will be tested and we tried just like Jesus. Although we are crucified with Christ nevertheless we live yet not we but Christ lives in us. The life we want to live must be lived by the faith of the Son of God. If we will not live by faith we will be overwhelmed by the troubles that Christians and non- Christians alike will receive. No one is exempt. The Christian also receives chastening from God the Father for it says that any branch that brings forth fruit is pruned so it can bring forth more fruit. God’s obedient children are still under the discipline of the loving heavenly Father. That discipline is difficult. We have the privilege of reading the things that will be done to us. We will receive persecution and dark experiences. If we read our Bibles we will see the things written a foretime are written for our learning that we through patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope (Romans 15:4) Jesus prayed to His Father that He would send another Comforter the Holy Ghost. Do you know why the Holy Ghost is a Comforter? It’s because He will show you everything Jesus has said and when he comes he will:

John 16:8,13 He will reprove the world of sin, of righteousness, of judgment and He shall show you the things to come.

Everything Jesus has said He will teach us. Therefore if we have the Spirit of God we shall be Bible students because the Holy Ghost will direct us in our personal study of the Scriptures through which he will give you comfort.

The Author of this spiritual life is unseen, and the exact method by which that life is imparted and sustained, it is beyond the power of human philosophy to explain. Yet the operations of the Spirit are always in harmony with the written word. Acts of the Apostles 284.1

Do not be deceived thinking you can receive the Holy Spirit without diligently understanding the Scriptures. The Holy Spirit will only reveal that which is written, that which is to come, the predestined program.

Mark 4:26 And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;

27 And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.

28 For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.

29 But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.

Some people believe that only when Jesus comes we will be perfect. The reality is when we are perfect then Jesus will come. The scriptures say when the fruit is brought forth then immediately the harvest is come. We are living in a time when the fruits of the flesh and the fruits of the Spirit will be manifested in its perfect entirety.

When the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.’ Christ is waiting with longing desire for the manifestation of Himself in His church. When the character of Christ shall be perfectly reproduced in His people, then He will come to claim them as His own. Christ’s Object Lesson 69.1

Christ has a longing desire for you to be like Him. Faith is the substance of His desire also. Some people don’t like this statement from the Spirit of Prophecy but it is Biblical. When the fruit is produced then the harvest is there. This harvest is not just the harvest of God’s people.

Matthew 13:37 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;

38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;

As a child you must have the genetic code inside of you to be the child.

Matthew 13:39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world.

This is the thing that will come to pass.

Matthew 13:40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.

Galatians 6:7 God is not mocked, what a man sows that shall he also reap.

There is a harvest that will come at the end of the world.

Matthew 13:41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;

42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Every time Jesus said: ‘who hath ears to hear, let him hear’ there is something that is to resound in our minds. We need to dwell upon what he has to say. At the end of the world there will be angels doing a special work. Whoever have ears let him hear.

Revelation 14:6
And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,

7. Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him.

Do you know that plants give glory to God because they produce fruit?

Matthew 7:20 Ye shall know them by their fruits.

This angel is crying with a loud voice give fruit to god, let faith come to perfection for the hour of His judgment is come and worship him that made heaven and earth and the sea and the fountains of waters (Revelation 14:7).

Worship the creator. Does not the plant that brings forth fruit give glory to the creator? Absolutely.

Revelation 14:8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,

10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

Whatever brought forth thorns and briers was taken to the furnace. This angel’s message is calling for God’s people to perfect their faith. It is time. We are in the time where God’s spirit energizes His people when they cry out to Him to bring forth fruit unto perfection. It is called the latter rain. The latter rain brings its fruit to perfection. We should pray earnestly for the latter rain. When we pray for the latter rain we are to have a thorough understanding of our Scriptures, not an emotional feeling, we need knowledge of the Scriptures. We contrast these people who perfect their faith with those that shall be burned.

Revelation 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

The wicked had no rest. Mark these words.

Isaiah 57:20 But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt.

The wicked here are contrasted with God’s saints.

Revelation 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

These people keep or maintain the faith of Jesus in its working order. They display it in perfection.

Revelation 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them. And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.

A sickle is used for the harvest. We read about three angels who are preaching and gathering God’s people together and gathering the wicked to be burned. The patient saints bring forth perfect fruit. The other class has no rest. Then immediately Christ comes with the sickle.

Revelation 14:15 And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.

I then saw the third angel. Said my accompanying angel, ‘Fearful is his work. Awful is his mission. He is the angel that is to select the wheat from the tares, and seal, or bind, the wheat for the heavenly garner. These things should engross the whole mind, the whole attention.’ Early Writings 118.1

Is that meat in due season? Is that the thing that we should be dwelling on? Jesus is coming, he is coming to reap. Those who bring forth sin when He comes shall be burned. There is no changing the character when He comes. He will only change the vessel that holds that plant our body that contains our character.

Revelation 22:11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

Is that a pretended imaginary righteousness? No. Our God is the God of the real. Although you can’t see it, does it mean it is not real? Character is real.

Revelation 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

Christ is coming to bring those who have been faithful into the joy of the Lord. The others will have weeping and gnashing of teeth. When we consider these last day events it is easy to get stressed about it especially about the heat of the battle that God’s people must go through to bring forth perfection.

Hebrews 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

God gives rest and the Scriptures declare let us labour to enter into this rest. We are looking at two things, something labourious and something restful. We touched on the labour of building faith and that was the study of God’s word with diligence to be approved of God. Rightly dividing the word of truth and identifying your experience in the word. Others have experienced this and it is not just studying the Bible, it is also about praying. We need prayer life. God’s children are criers they cry to God for their necessities. They are not whingers they are criers.

Luke 18:1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

2 Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:

3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.

This woman is experiencing great difficulties from her enemy. Who is our enemy? Satan the world and the flesh are our enemies. Our flesh gives us trouble, it is our enemy. If you ever have trouble in your flesh you need to ask God to avenge it just as this woman did and not to faint. Part of labour is praying hard.

Luke 18:4 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;

5 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.

Have you worn out God yet? You need to keep praying that God will give you the power over the world, the flesh and the devil. Keep praying and cry unto Him.

Luke 18:6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.

7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?

Do you cry day and night or just in the morning and before you go to bed? Is your prayer continually to God that he will save you from such and such a sin or such and such a problem and from persecutors?

Luke 18:8 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

When God comes, will He find this sort of faith that cries day and night? When the Canaanite woman came to Jesus with her problem she pleaded with him for help and.Jesus answered her:

Matthew 15:26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and cast [it] to dogs.

15:27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.

15:28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great [is] thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

Do you have the stamina to keep praying even though it appears that you are losing? Although it appears that God is not listening to you, do you have the stamina, to pray and not to faint? This is the faith that is needed at the end of the world for God’s people will go through a period called the time of Jacob’s trouble. In this time you will think the person you are wrestling with is your enemy when it is actually God Himself. You will think that you are cast off. Will your prayer be?

Genesis 32:26 I will not let Thee go, until you bless me.

Will He find this sort of faith when He comes? You must never forget the character of God and never forget the power of His word.

Matthew 8:5 And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,

6 And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.

7 And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.

8 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.

9 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

10 When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

Here is the great faith that is required at the end of the world. You don’t have to go prance around about how obedient you are. A total trust in God’s word is the faith that is needed. Do we pray ‘Dear Father in heaven, you need to speak the word only.’ It is trust that God’s word will do it, not me. When I have gone through that labour in studying God’s word and when I have gone through the labour of crying to Him, enter into His rest.

Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

We have a lot to achieve before Jesus comes. When I look at what has to be done in the short time remaining I get stressed and think, can it happen? But when I dwell upon the word and the power thereof and my mind is stayed on that not on myself but on the word he will keep me in perfect peace. God’s law is the information that must be displayed in our bodies. It is the genetic code that has been placed in us by faith. There is rest in the commandments and when we receive the commandments we receive rest. The wicked reject the Ten Commandments so do they have any rest? There is no rest for the wicked. The world doesn’t want the Sabbath Day, they don’t like it and to them it is works but to God’s people it is rest. Praise the Lord. Read the following commandment. To those born again it is a promise and not condemnation. All the promises are in Him and outside of Him they are not promises but condemnation. These promises will be done.

Exodus 20:8 Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

The commandment of rest contains six days of labour. Some people think the fourth commandment is just about a lazy day. No, you have to work for six days and the world doesn’t want to do that either. They don’t want the rest of the Sabbath neither do they want to work for six days. So there is a thing called the dole. That is not work neither rest, it is a misery.

Exodus 20:10 But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.

This day has been given to God’s people for one purpose so that we can dwell on the power of His word. For six days the Lord created the world by the power of His mouth. He spoke and it stood fast. Then He set aside a day to enjoy the creation. Therefore labour comes before rest. In the world rest is on the first day of the week and then you labour. So it is a prophetic application of what the world is like. They take their rest now. They have pleasure now and they sing and laugh but they will have no rest in hell but if God’s people labour, pray and study the Bible to apply the promises and have the faith that was once delivered to the saints they will have rest. I’d rather have my rest after my work than before. The seventh day is better than the first. So the command is do not do work, it is a day that you are not allowed to work. Praise the Lord.

Exodus 31:13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you.

The Sabbath the memorial of creation is a day in which we can know the sanctifying power of God. God said if anyone works on the Sabbath he shall be killed. That sounds hard. But the fact is if we do not stop to dwell upon His creation and power and know that He is God we will not be saved therefore we shall die if we do not rest. The Sabbath Day is a sign that you have faith. If you don’t have the Sabbath you don’t have faith because the Sabbath is contained in the genetic code of faith.

Exodus 31:17 It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.

God will do what he says. We need to let Him do it. When we feed on God’s word with consistent prayer life then we will have rest.

1 Thessalonians 5:23, 24 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

God is doing it. Do we believe it?

Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

Are you able to rest when there is so much to do? Are you are aware of your problems? Can you rest in Him? You know the promises of God’s word that will make you an overcomer. As you plead with the Lord and claim these promises you can rest knowing that such a thing will happen. We are to rest and not to stress. When there is stress the muscles and nerves harden and the plant can’t grow well. Can a child learn when under stress? No, God wants His people to be at rest. That doesn’t mean we can become lazy. If we keep His word we don’t have to be full of anxiety.

The plants and flowers grow not by their own care or anxiety or effort, but by receiving that which God has furnished to minister to their life. The child cannot, by any anxiety or power of its own, add to its stature. No more can you, by anxiety or effort of yourself, secure spiritual growth. The plant, the child, grows by receiving from its surroundings that which ministers to its life –air, sunshine, and food. What these gifts of nature are to animal and plant, such is Christ to those who trust in Him. Steps to Christ 68

So often we have stress because we aren’t like Jesus but it does not yet appear what we shall be.

1 John 3:3 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

3. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

Purified according to His word. This word will work in you to will and to do to His good pleasure. If we keep His word then this promise is for us.

Revelation 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

God says because you have kept My word, I will also keep you. The word is the thing that does it. Do you believe all of God’s word with all your heart, soul and strength? It says, I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. Jesus is also at the end for He said to His disciples: Lo I am always with you even to the end of the world. I am the Alpha and the Omega. God hasn’t lost His power over time. He is still the same Creator as He was 6,000 years ago when He created the world. All power in heaven and in earth is given unto Him. This power is delivered to you and I.

Revelation 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Proverbs 13:12 When the desire cometh it is a tree of life.

We desire to be like Jesus, blessed are they that do His commandments. That is what it means to be like Jesus for they have the right to the tree of life.

Revelation 22.15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, [and] the bright and morning star.

17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

If you want everlasting life, to receive Jesus with all your heart is the answer. If you are hungering and thirsting for something better come to Jesus.

Revelation 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things, which are written in this book.

If you want to come to Jesus don’t modify Him. Don’t make Him suit your desires of sin. Come to Him and give up everything. Take up your cross, deny yourself in everything and follow Him. If you will lose your life you will find it. He that findeth his life in this world will lose it. Don’t alter the Book.

Revelation 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

This harvest is not far away. Trust in God’s word. Plead for it, labour for it and enter into the rest. God’s people enter into this rest and the Sabbath is the sign thereof. I pray that when you study your Bible it means more to you than it has meant in the past.

Revelation 22:21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.

Amen.
