5. Summary of Old and New Testament Prophecies

By John Thiel, Prophetic Sketches of the Remnant Church Seminar, Study 5, mp3

Our purpose is to scan the Old Testament and New Testament prophecies and interface them. Also to look at the important points of Gods remnant people in history. We have observed the over arching prophetic sketch of Genesis 3:15 which Apostle Paul spoke of in Romans.

Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

We have established the above is the work of Christ and his soldiers, his remnant people.

Romans 16:20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [be] with you. Amen.

What is he referring to? Malachi. When Satan and the wicked will be ashes under the feet of the saints. We want to understand the wide ranging principle of this for the final remnant. Examine the method when Christ bruised Satan’s head and how this bruising by Christ of Satan’s head is to flow on to the remnant. Remember the faithful remnant of Revelation.  This is the New Testament sketch.

Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

This prophetic sketch is identified in verse 11 how these people have to overcome this dragons wrath who is making war with them.

Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

Our contemplation is how to bruise Satan’s head and overcome him in the warfare as did Christ. To overcome him by the blood of the lamb to do it as Jesus did it, by the word of their testimony, and being prepared to love not my life till death.

Revelation 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

There is the connecting link, overcome even as I overcame. How did Christ bruise Satan’s head so that we might know how we can bruise his head? We must overcome as he overcame. Here is a prophecy sketch of Jesus Christ. Here we see Jesus overcoming the evil one by his blood. Overcome him by the blood of the lamb. What is he saying here at the cross?

Psalms 22:1 A Psalm of David. My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? [why art thou so] far from helping me, [and from] the words of my roaring? 2 O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.

What is he doing? Crying day and night to God. Crying to father in heaven and feeling a dreadful sense of not getting help but crying day and night.

Psalms 40:1 I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. 2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, [and] established my goings.  3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, [even] praise unto our God: many shall see [it], and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.

How did he overcome Satan? He cried and he cried and he cried more. Why did he cry? He was overpowered at Gethsemane and the cross by sinful people. As he was crying, Satan was digging his sharp pangs into Christ. He didn’t stop and he loved not his life unto death and he was patiently crying right through although he didn’t feel the answers form the Lord. As he was so doing, the father responded to his cry. God has a heart that cannot reject the plaintiff cry of a sinner. That is how Jesus overcame the devil. That is how he bruised the devils head.

Satan and his angels united with the priests and rulers in mocking and deriding the Son of God. Thus were the words fulfilled. “Thou shalt bruise His heel.” {18MR 72.1} By those who mocked Christ as He hung on the cross, Satan and his angels were personified. He filled them with vile and loathsome speeches. He inspired their taunts. But by all this he gained nothing. He was permitted to bruise Christ’s heel, but Christ was bruising his head. By working through the priests against Christ, Satan was effecting his own discomfiture and downfall. {18MR 72.2}

By the very fact of what he was doing Satan was being bruised in the head by his own reaction.

Charged with an embassage of mercy, love, and pardon, Christ came to His own, but His own received Him not. He was buffeted by temptation, and bruised and lacerated by the cruel lash. He was crowned with thorns, and His hands and feet pierced by nails. In His dying agony on the cross He was scorned by the people who claimed to be waiting for the Messiah, but who by their actions showed the value of their spirituality. Surely Christ has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows. Surely He was wounded for our transgressions and bruised for our iniquities. But did not Satan understand that while he was bruising the heel of the Son of God, the Son of God was bruising his head? {18MR 74.2}

How do people show the value of their spirituality? By their actions, not their words. He bore the griefs of our sins not only by the crown of thorns on his head.  Didn’t he understand what he was doing? He overcame him by pleading with the heavenly father, where are you my God, help, day and night. Lucifer thought he had him. Look at you, you weakling, you’re crying, you’re under my control. He is bruising his heel. Jesus was crying to the father for help. Who is more powerful? The devil or the father?

Luke 18:3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. 4 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; 5 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. 6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. 7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?

Is that what Jesus was suffering? I waited patiently for the Lord, he wasn’t hearing me. How many times have you prayed and you felt there was no help? Did you stop praying or did you continue to cry? Are you still doing it?

Luke 18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

This is an open question. How many today do what Jesus did? His own elect a very small remnant. Shall he find faith on earth? The faith of Jesus, that’s what’s needed. A faith that is overwhelmed with the sinfulness of our own being and we do not stop until he has avenged us. Satan is making war with his own elect. Notice how God responds to the cry of even those who have died under these terrible satanic warfare attacks.

Genesis 4:9 And the LORD said unto Cain, Where [is] Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: [Am] I my brother’s keeper? 10 And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground.

Here is the Lord to avenge Abels death. The father avenged the death of his son by turning upon Satan in the form of Cain. You are now cast out. Just like Satan was cast out after he crucified Christ he was cast out from heaven forever. Jesus crying to the father as Abels blood cried to the father, conquered and bruised Satan’s head.

Revelation 6:9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: 10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? 11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they [were], should be fulfilled.

These are those who had been slain cried from the grave. Do you see the interface? The Genesis 3:15 story? The seed bruises Satan’s head. The very people he has persecuted through the dark ages. His blood is crying to God but it took a little while like it did with Jesus and it will take a little while with you and me. Here is the patience of the saints that cry day and night so Gods heart is touched. The prophetic sketch of how God avenges his own remnant church in the last days.

Ezekiel 9:3 And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with linen, which [had] the writer’s inkhorn by his side; 4 And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof. 5 And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity: 6 Slay utterly old [and] young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom [is] the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which [were] before the house. 7 And he said unto them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain: go ye forth. And they went forth, and slew in the city.

What is the prophetic interlace in the New Testament to this? None other than Revelation 7:1-4. The angels holding back the winds of strife till the servants of God been sealed. What were the 144,000 doing? They were crying day and night to be avenged of their enemy. They were bruising Satan’s head because they were pleading with God to save them from their adversary as Jesus did.

The leaven of Godliness has not entirely lost its power. At the time when the danger and depression of the church are greatest, the little company who are standing in the light will be sighing and crying for the abominations that are done in the land. But more especially will their prayers arise in behalf of the church because its members are doing after the manner of the world. {5T 209.3}

Are we there? Are we at the time where the depression of the church is at its greatest?

The earnest prayers of this faithful few will not be in vain. When the Lord comes forth as an avenger, He will also come as a protector of all those who have preserved the faith in its purity and kept themselves unspotted from the world. It is at this time that God has promised to avenge His own elect which cry day and night unto Him, though He bear long with them. {5T 210.1}

Can you see how we just interfaced everything here?

The command is: “Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.” These sighing, crying ones had been holding forth the words of life; they had reproved, counseled, and entreated. Some who had been dishonoring God repented and humbled their hearts before Him. But the glory of the Lord had departed from Israel; although many still continued the forms of religion, His power and presence were lacking. {5T 210.2}

Is this what you have experienced in the church organisations? We keep hearing sermons but where is the power? Formality is all it’s amounted to.

In the time when His wrath shall go forth in judgments, these humble, devoted followers of Christ will be distinguished from the rest of the world by their soul anguish, which is expressed in lamentation and weeping, reproofs and warnings. While others try to throw a cloak over the existing evil, and excuse the great wickedness everywhere prevalent, those who have a zeal for God’s honor and a love for souls will not hold their peace to obtain favor of any. Their righteous souls are vexed day by day with the unholy works and conversation of the unrighteous. They are powerless to stop the rushing torrent of iniquity, and hence they are filled with grief and alarm. They mourn before God to see religion despised in the very homes of those who have had great light. They lament and afflict their souls because pride, avarice, selfishness, and deception of almost every kind are in the church. The Spirit of God, which prompts to reproof, is trampled underfoot, while the servants of Satan triumph. God is dishonored, the truth made of none effect. {5T 210.3}

Do you like to obtain favour by your church organisaiton? Are you prepared to stop making so much fuss or are you prepared to stir and stir it and cry and weep till the Lord avenges you? Can you stop the rush of an organisation that is going downhill?

The people of God are sighing and crying for the abominations done in the land. With tears they warn the wicked of their danger in trampling upon the divine law, and with unutterable sorrow they humble themselves before the Lord on account of their own transgressions. The wicked mock their sorrow, ridicule their solemn appeals, and sneer at what they term their weakness. But the anguish and humiliation of God’s people is unmistakable evidence that they are regaining the strength and nobility of character lost in consequence of sin. . . . {Mar 213.5}

Will God not avenge his own who cry day and night? Yes he will. That is what bruises Satan’s head. His people will bruise Satan’s head in this method. The cry of the remnant and the cry of Jesus I the death knell of Satan.

The cross of Calvary, while it declares the law immutable, proclaims to the universe that the wages of sin is death. In the Saviour’s expiring cry, “It is finished,” the death-knell of Satan was rung. The great controversy which had been so long in progress was then decided, and the final eradication of evil was made certain. {GC88 503.3}

When did the end of all things begin? Right there. Because there Christ made a final eradication of evil certain.

The Son of God passed through the portals of the tomb, that “through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil.” [Hebrews 2:14.] {GC88 503.3}

God laid upon Christ all the sins of the people, there he was, the wages of sin is death and as he died with our sins, he destroyed Satan and his power.

Lucifer’s desire for self-exaltation had led him to say, “I will exalt my throne above the stars of God. . . . I will be like the Most High.” God declares, “I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth, . . . and never shalt thou be any more.” [Isaiah 14:13, 14; Ezekiel 28:18, 19.] When “the day cometh that shall burn as an oven,” “all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble; and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.” [Malachi 4:1.] {GC88 503.3}

Why does God have the right to bring him to ashes? Because Gods people and Jesus cried day and night.

The whole universe will have become witnesses to the nature and results of sin. And its utter extermination, which in the beginning would have brought fear to angels and dishonor to God, will now vindicate his love and establish his honor before a universe of beings who delight to do his will, and in whose heart is his law.. {GC88 504.1}

What a privilege we have and finally give God the right to destroy Satan and his cohorts and create such a joy for eternity in the hearts of intelligent beings that by Satan doing what he has done to Jesus and his remnant people, he has made all the universe see what a cruel being he was and how horrible sin is.

And its utter extermination, which in the beginning would have brought fear to angels and dishonor to God, will now vindicate his love and establish his honor before a universe of beings who delight to do his will, and in whose heart is his law. Never will evil again be manifest. Says the Word of God, “Affliction shall not rise up the second time.” [Nahum 1:9.] The law of God, which Satan has reproached as the yoke of bondage, will be honored as the law of liberty. A tested and proved creation will never again be turned from allegiance to Him whose character has been fully manifested before them as fathomless love and infinite wisdom. {GC88 504.1}

You are a tool in the hand of the father. As Jesus was a tool in his hand to be able to clear the mess for eternity. To bruise Satan’s head. This leads us to other interrelated prophecies. Prophecies of the remnant in the last days.

Zephaniah 3:12 I will also leave in the midst of thee an afflicted and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of the LORD.

So was Jesus wasn’t he? Why are they a poor and afflicted people?

Psalm 119:67 Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.

When I am afflicted, I want to do what is right. The prophetic sketches deal with salvation.

Isaiah 48:10 Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.

Afflicted as they are being made into a diamond and so they can shine forth as Gods pure people. Indeed the remnant is identified by this experience that is why they are weeping and crying. For many reasons, the affliction is also one of them.

Malachi 3:1 Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts. 2 But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he [is] like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap: 3 And he shall sit [as] a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.

That’s why they are a poor and afflicted people. If I wasn’t going through these bad times, I wouldn’t go to the Lord.

Revelation 7:14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

They have been pleading with God as Jesus did. As they have been afflicting their soul in agony of spirit, the Lord purified them.

Daniel 12:10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

What will they understand? When Daniel was told to close up and seal the book to the time of the end. The wise shall understand what we are studying here. They will know exactly what is meant, and will do exactly what is right.

Daniel 12:3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

Matthew 24:45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his Lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? 46 Blessed [is] that servant, whom his Lord when he cometh shall find so doing. 47 Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods. 48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My Lord delayeth his coming; 49 And shall begin to smite [his] fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; 50 The Lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for [him], and in an hour that he is not aware of,

He begins to smite his fellow servant just as they smite Christ. His own brethren. Then there are the foolish and wise virgins and as the bridal party come past, the five wise unite with the servant giving meat in due season. This little company in the light, the few.

Revelation 12:1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: 2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. 3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. 4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. 5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and [to] his throne. 6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred [and] threescore days.

Satan was ready to swallow up the child that was born. It is the New Testament picture. Let us look at the Old Testament picture back there at that time.

Isaiah 66:1 Thus saith the LORD, The heaven [is] my throne, and the earth [is] my footstool: where [is] the house that ye build unto me? and where [is] the place of my rest? 2 For all those [things] hath mine hand made, and all those [things] have been, saith the LORD: but to this [man] will I look, [even] to [him that is] poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word. 3 He that killeth an ox [is as if] he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, [as if] he cut off a dog’s neck; he that offereth an oblation, [as if he offered] swine’s blood; he that burneth incense, [as if] he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations. 4 I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose [that] in which I delighted not. 5 Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name’s sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed. 6 A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the LORD that rendereth recompense to his enemies. 7 Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child. 8 Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? [or] shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.

Here is the scenario again. The serpent being bruised on his head by mistreating his people. Was that the picture of revelation 12? In verses 1-6 she is crying and she gave birth to a son and a nation was born. That was the seed born at the birth of Christ. This is a picture that you and I are all one in Christ. One nation born at once. The remnant church. One big sketch that covers the entire picture. The final remnant. Who are they? The same in Matthew 24:48. The servant giving meat in due season.

This is the remnant, the faithful minister opposed their brethren in Isaiah 66:5. That is how they are treated, your friends that hated you, that cast you out for my name sake. Praise the Lord we got rid of these menaces they say.

Because iniquity abounds, the love of many waxes cold. There are many who have outgrown their advent faith. They are living for the world, and while saying in their hearts, as they desire it shall be, “My Lord delayeth His coming,” they are beating their fellow servants. They do this for the same reason that Cain killed Abel. Abel was determined to worship God according to the directions God had given. This displeased Cain. He thought that his own plans were best, and that the Lord would come to his terms. Cain in his offering did not acknowledge his dependence upon Christ. He thought that his father Adam had been treated harshly in being expelled from Eden. The idea of keeping that sin ever before the mind, and offering the blood of the slain lamb as a confession of entire dependence upon a power outside of himself, was torture to the high spirit of Cain. {TM 77.1}

What is torture to you? To bring your sin ever before you? David said my sin is ever before me. It is torture to the one who doesn’t trust to the mercy and salvation of Jesus. To them it is torture but for those that believe God can forgive them and give up that sin, it’s not.

Being the eldest, he thought that Abel should follow his example. When Abel’s offering was accepted of God, the holy fire consuming the sacrifice, Cain’s anger was exceedingly great. The Lord condescended to explain matters to him; but he would not be reconciled to God, and he hated Abel because God showed him favor. He became so angry that he slew his brother. {TM 77.1}

I remember someone once saying, I don’t want Jesus to come yet, I want to have a baby first. The very person that said that beats me today.

The Lord has a controversy with all men who by their unbelief and doubt have been saying that He delays His coming, and who have been smiting their fellow servants, and eating and drinking with (working from the very same principle as) the drunken; they are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink. Satan has controlled their reason, and they know not at what they stumble. {TM 78.1}

Have you ever tried reasoning with someone and you can’t? Do you waste your time reasoning with the devil and with those he is twisting up. Don’t waste your time. This company of faithful people who are of the Lord, Isaiah 58 describes them;

Isaiah 58:12 And [they that shall be] of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.

Many people refer that to the Sabbath and that is as far as they go.

Isaiah 58:14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken [it].

Take hold, listen to me, ye that tremble at my word. Are we listening?

Isaiah 58:1 Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and show my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.

This is the remnant that is what they are doing. They are the ones of God. What is the interfacing scripture here of Old Testament and New Testament?

Isaiah 40:6 The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh [is] grass, and all the goodliness thereof [is] as the flower of the field: 7 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people [is] grass. 8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

What is this talking about? What are you to cry?

Isaiah 40:3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. 4 Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain: 5 And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see [it] together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken [it].

What is the interfacing here? Those that are of thee shall build the old waste places, cry aloud spare not, what do I cry? Who is the voice? The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness. What is this all about?

Revelation 14:6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, 7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. 9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive [his] mark in his forehead, or in his hand,

Revelation 18:1 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. 2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. 4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

Is it not what it’s all about? Those who have this are the ones who are to cry as the one that cried in the wilderness. Who is that?

Malachi 4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:

Luke 3:4 As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. 4 I will send you Elijah the prophet.

In Luke it identified the one who cried in the wilderness as John the Baptist. Here is the interface. That interfacing prophecy as we are living in that day that we are to pick up on John the Baptist and Elijah message.

In this age, just prior to the second coming of Christ in the clouds of heaven, God calls for men who will prepare a people to stand in the great day of the Lord. Just such a work as that which John did, is to be carried on in these last days. The Lord is giving messages to His people, through the instruments He has chosen, and He would have all heed the admonitions and warnings He sends. The message preceding the public ministry of Christ was, Repent, publicans and sinners; repent, Pharisees and Sadducees; “for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Our message is not to be one of peace and safety. As a people who believe in Christ’s soon appearing, we have a definite message to bear,–“Prepare to meet thy God.” {4BC 1184.6}    Our message must be as direct as was that of John. He rebuked kings for their iniquity. Notwithstanding the peril his life was in, he never allowed truth to languish on his lips. Our work in this age must be as faithfully done. . . . {4BC 1184.7}    In this time of well-nigh universal apostasy, God calls upon His messengers to proclaim His law in the spirit and power of Elias. As John the Baptist, in preparing a people for Christ’s first advent, called their attention to the Ten Commandments, so we are to give, with no uncertain sound, the message: “Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come.” With the earnestness that characterized Elijah the prophet and John the Baptist, we are to strive to prepare the way for Christ’s second advent (SW March 21, 1905). {4BC 1184.8}

Don’t wait for an ordained person to do the work. You are ordained if you will do it. John was not ordained by them. Elijah wasn’t ordained, Nehemiah wasn’t ordained. He calls for men of such calibre. Men he chooses. Isn’t a person that is ordained a person that God has chosen, ordained of him? It’s the people that do his work, they are ordained. All the other is formality.

As Elijah was unaware of the 7000 others, this company in their vicinity prophesy and preach. The prophetic sketches describe their gathering. These people who do their faithful work, God gives light.

Matthew 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

When does that prophesy fit in? At the coming of Jesus, just before where he says after these signs, the falling of the stars, then he will gather them together. How long has that been taking place?

Malachi 3:16 Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard [it], and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name. 17 And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. 18 Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.

It’s a painful thing to discern that. Because we have been totally afflicted, as we discern that, we will never condemn the wicked. If we discern within the church those who are maliciously treating us, we only discern where we must go.

Zephaniah 2:1 Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation not desired; 2 Before the decree bring forth, [before] the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD come upon you, before the day of the LORD’S anger come upon you. 3 Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD’S anger.

What is this referring to? The men with the slaughter weapons? Where do they start? At the sanctuary. Where must you be when God starts at his sanctuary? You must gather together and let them separate you because if you are there?  The gathering in prophecy is the work of Revelation 18.

Revelation 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. 5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

Those that are partaking, we must get out of there, otherwise you will be lulled into a carnal state of security and when the wrath of God comes you will be caught up.

Isaiah 26:20 Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast. 21 For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.

Come my people, what is he to come into? What are we to come into? The chambers? These are the protection of Christ and his angels. Those are the words of John 10:16.

John 10:16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, [and] one shepherd.

They will be gathered together. How will this take place?

Isaiah 52:11 Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean [thing]; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD. 12 For ye shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight: for the LORD will go before you; and the God of Israel [will be] your rereward.

As you go forward and you want to really keep the Sabbath, would you go around with a camera and start taking pictures of each other? Is this doing your own thing? I was in an experience where I made a decision some years ago that I will never take photos on the Sabbath. On this occasion a minister came to me and said to me, could you take a photo of me and my sister, and I went dizzy and I thought, he doesn’t pay any attention to it so I went click. I pondered about it, I thought this is a very small thing, but in our respect for each other, we may do things we shouldn’t. There were other things I saw, people flowing on doing the very thing that reformers don’t normally do but because the leaders are doing it, they do it.

In other words, as he speaks to us you don’t have to say get out before you get killed, he gives you time to get out from beneath the pall of these subtle satanic ways. The security that you may have as you are going out from the wrong things that are causing you to be separated from those very people, they will be sick and tired of you, they will be like Cain.

Jeremiah 3:14 Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion: 15 And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.

The ones God chooses.  Matthew 24 is the faithful servant giving meat in due season. These people who are separated, we read in TM that the faithful ministers will be removed from those who think they know so much.  Here they are, the true pastors that will feed the flock.  When he gathers his people, what will the true ministers be doing?

Isaiah 52:8 Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion.

They shall see eye to eye and we will hear one voice, one harmony of ministering spirits.

John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any [man] pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave [them] me, is greater than all; and no [man] is able to pluck [them] out of my Father’s hand.

This is the final church. There will be no more apostasy after that. This is the final draft because BY now the people have been so thoroughly winnowed in the harvest time. They have been separated from all dross, and dross separated from them, no more time for purification. He who is holy, let him be holy still. No more church except for the grand church triumphant. Can you see from the prophecies we are interfacing, can you still the day star arising in your heart?

Is there light in the darkness? Are you the light in the woman’s seed, brushing Satan’s head? Willing to stand in the remnant with the poor and afflicted people being purified and restoring the old paths to dwell in? Will you cry with those who cry day and night who are so few? Christ said do you think I’ll see this kind of faith when the son of man cometh? Where are they? So few. As John and Elijah, will you gather in the little company that is in the light? By their example. By their actions they will show their true spirituality. Gather with the little company in the light.  This experience requires discernment.

Amen.

    I have listed in WordPress the prophecies in the Old Testament and their fulfillment in the New Testament, under the title “”Old Testament prophecies about the Messiah”.

    This is the power of the true God. He can make the old and barren to conceive and give birth, like Elizabeth. This is the hallmark of the true God – He can prophesy and because nothing is impossible with Him, He can make what He prophesies to happen.

    Glory and praise to the true God who we worship!

        Thanks for your response. I browsed through what you sent me. I believe that the Daniel prophecies have to do with the life of Jesus. But He was not crucified in about AD 33 but FYI, on August 17, 1 BC. This date came from none other than the Holy Spirit Himself who we (plural) talk to. I just checked in out from 1999 to 2003 if there is any ring of truth in the date that I first heard in 1983. True enough, it is correct. You may read the results of my study in my geocities website.

        For the blog that I put in WordPress regarding the Old Testament prophecies, here is the address:
