Our Commitment to the Three Angels Messages
By John Thiel, Audio: mp3
How close is it to the coming of Jesus? We have become vividly aware that we are indeed at the very last of the generation that is to see Jesus coming. All that Jesus foretold is culminating and I have a deep sense that during this year and the next, we will be meeting some very serious circumstances. We have been given the assistance of the angels but it is up to us whether we will actually be in tune with them. I would like to spend time with you this hour in considering our commitment to the three angels and their messages and that other angel of Revelation 18.
We are often fascinated in reference to angels, as our Scripture reading expressed – “Are they not ministering spirits?” Angels are actually ministering for us, especially those who are the heirs of salvation. They are “ministering spirits, sent forth to minister” to us. One aspect of their ministry is to communicate light from heaven to us. We see this in the words of the angel of Revelation 1:1 where the message was conveyed from Jesus via the angel to John the revelator and in Daniel 9:20-23 you have Gabriel speaking being sent from heaven to administer light to Daniel. The Truth Hurts
By Paul Godfrey, Audio: mp3
The purpose of this study is that we will come away knowing the reason why truth hurts. I find it interesting that when the truth of the Bible comes to people, not everyone receives it with joy. Not everybody is happy to hear the truth as it is in Jesus.
If you reflect through history, the truth has caused a lot of problems. It’s caused a lot of fighting, persecution and killing. Even from the start, there was trouble between two brothers, Cain and Abel. Cain did not appreciate the truth or what his brother did. Abel’s work was righteous. The Bible tells us that is the reason why Cain killed his brother.
People have often expressed that before the truth came along they actually had quite a nice life. They were happier, they enjoyed many more things and they had a lot more peace. Then when the truth came, they had struggles they never had before. They find out that they shouldn’t be doing this and they shouldn’t be doing that. There seem to be more restrictions than you can poke a stick. All these things burden the individual and they say, “Why, what’s all the go with the truth? I was better before the truth came along.” This is a Biblical fact that truth disturbs people. The truth is disturbing. Notice what the apostle has to say.
Romans 7:9 For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
Before God’s commandments came along, before I had knowledge of right and wrong to the extent that God would have us know, my life was quite okay. I mean yes, there were troubles and I had difficulties, but all in all, it was okay.
Romans 7:9 …but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. 10 And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.
This message is about Jesus coming to give eternal life. Sometimes we feel the only thing we get is death from hearing about this message of eternal life. “I feel condemned. I feel that I am a great, great sinner. I feel filthy and dirty. I feel like my habits are choking me to death and I can’t get out of them. I feel in bondage more than ever before since the truth came.” Read the rest of this entry
Count It All Joy When Ye Fall Into Divers Temptations
By Paul Godfrey, Brisbane Church 2011. Audio: mp3
When we come to the Lord, we’re all excited and pumped. We’re just praising the Lord every step of the way and singing our songs. Nothing can get us down anymore until something gets us down and then we get into discouragement. We want to consider when Christian excitement, the energy that we receive ebbs away and when it ebbs away, does that mean we’ve lost our experience?
Jesus gives a parable in relation to receiving the kingdom of heaven, being converted and having a spiritual experience. This parable is revealed in the type of seed, and the sowing of the seed. Matthew 13 is the explanation of the actual parable. He gave it earlier in the chapter and now He is telling what it means and He comes to this part where the seed falls upon the rocky ground.
Matthew 13:20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word of God, and anon with joy receiveth it;
13:21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended. Read the rest of this entry
Satan’s Last Resort
By Camron Schofield, Audio: mp3
The Bible describes the devil as a roaring lion roaming to and fro in the earth seeking whom he may devour. It is a harsh reality that he is always on our track. He is always trying to take us out in ways in which the angels deliver us from which we are not going to know until we get to heaven. I can give testimony and praise to the Lord this week I hopped out of the car, crossed the road to open a gate to go into a park. I turned around to walk back to my car and without thinking I didn’t look right but I looked left. As I stepped out onto the road, my hat blew off and it wasn’t even windy. As I turned around to pick my hat up off the ground, just as I was about to step out there was a honk and a car drove straight past. The Lord delivered me from being hit by a car by blowing my hat off. This to me was a revelation of how dangerous is the time in which we live and that we need to be very much on guard and diligent in our Christian walk. Not just in making sure we look left and right in the things of this world that we see, but even taking heed in the spiritual realms. Read the rest of this entry

When you compare the righteous with the wicked, the wicked come to heaven’s door knocking expecting to come into heaven thinking the door should be open for them. The righteous look to heaven and long to enter in but in heaven no evil thing may enter yet the Lord says to the righteous, those who look to heaven conscious of their condition; “Come in.” The person may say, “Lord, no sin can enter into heaven. You are calling me to come in but as far as I understand nothing bad can go into heaven.” The Lord says, “Yes, I know that so come in.” Read the rest of this entry
03 God Speaks Through Nature
John Thiel
Audio: mp3
Psalms 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth his handiwork.
19:2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night showeth knowledge.
19:3 [There is] no speech nor language, [where] their voice is not heard.
19:4 Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,
19:5 Which [is] as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, [and] rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. Read the rest of this entry
01 A Chance to Choose
By Paul Godfrey Audio: mp3
The Bible tells us that we should always ask for the old paths.
Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where [is] the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk [therein]. Jeremiah 6:16
We are admonished to ask our fathers and elders.
Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will show thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee. Deuteronomy 32: 7
If I have to ask my father, then how did my father know? He had to ask his father and so on. If we follow this principle that the Bible lays out, we end up having to ask Adam. What’s happening, what is the right way? Read the rest of this entry
How to Overcome Sin
By Paul Godfrey, Audio: mp3
Sometimes it is easy to forget the things we learn and read and when we get into a trial, sometimes the how to’s of overcoming disappears and all of a sudden we think oh what was I meant to do again? Or, how does this work? I want to refresh the things we have shared before that we never lose sight of how it is we can follow the Lord. We see our high calling in Hebrews.
Hebrews 12:14 Follow peace with all [men], and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
That is a task and a half considering our own natures and humanity. There is not much peace on this planet but the Bible says follow peace with all men. It is not a peace that is received by compromising the truth. We could say we will be at peace with everyone and who cares for God’s teachings and standards and let’s have a big group hug. This is not that kind of peace. It is saying follow peace with all men and holiness without which no man shall see the Lord.
No doubt we are all here because we want to see and worship the Lord and be prepared for His soon coming and so this text is a very high calling, to follow peace with all men and holiness. If we don’t have that, no one will see the Lord. There is another text speaking to the Laodicean people in Revelation 3:
Revelation 3: 18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; Read the rest of this entry
The Lord and I
By John Thiel, Audio: mp3
Psalm 16:11 Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence [is] fulness of joy; at thy right hand [there are] pleasures for evermore.
In this study it is my purpose to bring everything that I have ever preached in the past down to a living companionship with God. The term I just expressed, everything I have ever preached, it is something I’ve appreciated from the book Ministry of Healing;
The mere hearing of sermons Sabbath after Sabbath, the reading of the Bible through and through, or the explanation of it verse by verse, will not benefit us or those who hear us, unless we bring the truths of the Bible into our individual experience. The understanding, the will, the affections, must be yielded to the control of the word of God. Then through the work of the Holy Spirit the precepts of the word will become the principles of the life. {MH 514.1}
This statement we must understand. As we hear the sermons and read the Bible, many people still do not find the true benefit of it all. . I’m hoping and praying the benefit of this will be reached out for by us individually as we are in the presence of God today. God is speaking as follows: Read the rest of this entry
04 Developing Interested Souls for Baptism
Missionary Training Seminar, Study 4, By John Thiel, mp3
This aspect of is now to develop the interested souls for baptism. We have learnt how to arouse their interest and that is to do with how to find them. Now that you found them, once you have captivated an interest, you then want to win them to a final decision. If you have captivated an interest they will say to you, I want more information, I want Bible study. When you have them at that position, now you have a prospective candidate for baptism. When a person asks for Bible studies, you have a positive candidate. Why do I say this? Bible study produces something.
1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. Read the rest of this entry
