We are in need of understanding a question that has been tossed about in many minds and in ranks of Adventism. This question deals with the Words of Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount, the mount of blessings and yet this verse has caused all sorts of complications and problems in the minds of people.
Matthew 5:31 It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:
32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
In the Sermon on the Mount Jesus declared plainly that there could be no dissolution of the marriage tie, except for unfaithfulness to the marriage vow. MB 63.1 Read the rest of this entry

The subject of self is involved in the marriage institution in today’s mentality. 4. Restoration of the Marriage Institution

We are to study Gods word in such a way that the truth that we embrace is found in a frame work of truth rather than isolated truths and statements dependent upon other statements to understand a complete frame work of truth. There is a danger of studying the bible from a legal view point as we are to study it from a view point of Jesus Christ. In the last days Jesus will have a people approved of God and as a consequence they will be a company that restores all things as He says, “Those who are approved of me will restore all things.” To be of that company requires us to have a relationship with Jesus.
