Ezekiel and the Tares Melted in Jerusalem

According to Jewish tradition Ezekiel was the founder of the synagogue. You won’t find the word synagogue anywhere in the Old Testament but there are plenty of references to it in the New Testament. Where did Synagogues come from? They were a place of instruction and where legal decisions could be made. The synagogue was important to Jewish survival during the Captivity and so we find Ezekiel in Babylon and it would seem that this is where the synagogue was first founded. But there were no sacrifices there, as these had to be performed only in the temple. Ellen White says we should study the book of Ezekiel which it has been said, is the story of the Seventh Day Adventist movement and generally the church in particular. She says that chapter 9 is the chapter that will be fulfilled to the letter and some of the events portrayed there are very sad events. Read the rest of this entry
