Do You Care What You Wear?
By Paul Godfrey, Brisbane Church 2012. Audio: mp3
Does God care what you wear? Yes He does. Do you care what you wear is the question. For those who do care what they wear, I would like to recommend a book called Covered by Amy McKnight. This is a really nice book. It bounces beautifully the spiritual aspects of how we dress with the practical aspects of how we should dress and I recommend it. Also another book that I recommend to read is the book ‘Reflecting the Beauty of Holiness‘ by Christine Godfrey.
How to have a Fruitful Conclusion

By Paul Godfrey, Swan View Church 2009. How to Enter Into Love, Study 10. Audio: mp3
I have had the privilege of studying the beautiful character traits of Jesus Christ and I hang my head in shame that they do not abound in me as much as I would like them to. Nevertheless the scripture does say to strive to enter in. The command to enter into is only for those who are without. As we look at Jesus Christ, we often feel ourselves far from His character but these are the words, strive to enter in. Enter into what? There are only two things to enter into, either a place or a state. These two things encompass everything that there is to enter in and the scripture here implies to both the state and the place.
Luke 13:24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. Read the rest of this entry
The Lord Our Righteousness

By Paul Godfrey, Swan View Church. How to Enter Into Love. Study 11. Audio: mp3
We have been unfruitful and in the investigative judgement, God is looking for things we may not have yet. To the sincere heart this may cause some discouragement so it is my purpose that we look again at how God is looking for fruit and how we get fruit.
Philippians 1:9 And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and [in] all judgment;
I pray your love or fruit will be heavily on your tree.
Philippians 1:10 That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ; Read the rest of this entry
The Voice of God
By Paul Godfrey, Brisbane Church. Audio: mp3
How many here when they pray would like God to speak to them in clear audible noise? Wouldn’t that be great? When you have an issue and you lay it before the Lord and say Lord, just tell me straight so I can just know exactly, often this discourages many Christians because when we pray we make audible noise and God doesn’t seem to do that and it’s really hard to have a relationship when one person talks and the other person doesn’t seem to talk. We would love God to tell us and talk to us in plain English.
Hebrews 3:7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, Today if ye will hear his voice,
3:8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness. Read the rest of this entry

Count It All Joy When Ye Fall Into Divers Temptations
By Paul Godfrey, Brisbane Church 2011. Audio: mp3
When we come to the Lord, we’re all excited and pumped. We’re just praising the Lord every step of the way and singing our songs. Nothing can get us down anymore until something gets us down and then we get into discouragement. We want to consider when Christian excitement, the energy that we receive ebbs away and when it ebbs away, does that mean we’ve lost our experience?
Jesus gives a parable in relation to receiving the kingdom of heaven, being converted and having a spiritual experience. This parable is revealed in the type of seed, and the sowing of the seed. Matthew 13 is the explanation of the actual parable. He gave it earlier in the chapter and now He is telling what it means and He comes to this part where the seed falls upon the rocky ground.
Matthew 13:20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word of God, and anon with joy receiveth it;
13:21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended. Read the rest of this entry
The Practical Realities of the Ministration of Jesus Christ

By Camron Schofield, Swan View Church. Audio: mp3
Have you ever in your in your trials just wanted to run away from it all to crawl under a rock to hide?
Ah, whither could we flee for aid
When tempted, desolate, dismayed?
Or how the hosts of hell defeat,
Had suffering saints no mercy-seat?
We read of an experience of the Psalmist which tends to be a very popular experience amongst those who earnestly desire to follow the Lord. The Psalmist speaks of his experience. Read the rest of this entry
Perfect Balance
By Paul Godfrey, Brisbane Church. Audio: mp3
Jesus is coming and I believe that we all acknowledge that. It is very important that we do acknowledge Jesus is coming. But it is more important to be ready because if you a know that He’s coming, and are not ready for his coming, then that knowledge is going to profit you nothing. That’s what the Bible says. I could have all understanding, I could understand all mysteries and have faith, but if I have not love, I am nothing. The burden of the message today is how to be ready and that’s quite a broad subject. I want to talk directly about character. As we go through this time of study together, I know the Lord would desire us to examine our own characters; to look at ourselves and how we are travelling in this world.
04 Quenching the Fire of Self

By John Thiel, Swan View Church 2012. Baptism by Fire Part 4. Audio: mp3
In our last study we researched into the word of God to identify something inside of us that we must differentiate from our spiritual life and that is that self, that inner nature that is our natural man. We touched on the fact that it is a fire and now I would like to look into this fire and how to quench it, the extinguishing of the fiery self.
The symbol of watery baptism well describes the dealing with the fire of self. It is a symbol of plunging under the water and putting the fire out. If you have a smouldering item and you want to extinguish it, you put it under the water and the fire goes out. This is truly what the symbol of baptism is, a symbol to place me under the water so that my spiritual mind can appreciate that self is being extinguished. It needs to be extinguished ever after. 06 Calamities – Gods Plaintive Voice

By Camron Schofield, Camp Woody 2012. Fine Tuning Into Gods Voice. Audio: mp3
The communication of God’s character is so deformed and very much rampant in the world today.
In my mind the justice of God eclipsed His mercy and love. The mental anguish I passed through at this time was very great. I had been taught to believe in an eternally burning hell; and as I thought of the wretched state of the sinner without God, without hope, I was in deep despair. I feared that I should be lost, and that I should live throughout eternity suffering a living death. The horrifying thought was ever before me, that my sins were too great to be forgiven, and that I should be forever lost. {LS 29.3} Read the rest of this entry
The Sabbath of the Lord Thy God
By Paul Godfrey, Brisbane Church 2011. Audio: mp3
I have something very, very important to share with you today. It is very important because your whole life hangs upon this and our time together is not for entertainment; it is not exciting but is very important and so I pray that we can be awake.
We can read what the Lord says for us in order to inherit eternal life. What does the Lord require of you? What is the requirement?
Micah 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
Last week’s message was in regards to being balanced. It wasn’t about a bit of sin and a bit of righteousness. It was about having justice and mercy in its correct proportions. Having the right thing but having a correct outlook towards other people. This week’s subject is about what God requires of us; to walk humbly with Him. That’s what God wants. It is as simple as that. We can finish our sermon right now. To walk with Him is what He wants; nothing short of it. Read the rest of this entry
When God Gives Up
By Paul Godfrey, Brisbane Church. Audio: mp3
Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. The whole point of Jesus coming to earth was to set the captives free, to set us free from bondage. We considered on Sabbath that we’ve been praying for the Holy Spirit and if we receive the Holy Spirit, then where the Spirit of the Lord is there will be freedom and liberty. Therefore we should give our fellowmen freedom and liberty and not to crowd other people’s minds with our minds and not to dominate other people’s minds but give them freedom.
Luke 9:51-56 And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he steadfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem,
52 And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him.
53 And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem.
54 And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did?
55 But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.
56 For the Son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them. And they went to another village. Read the rest of this entry
Does God Care What You Wear?
By Paul Godfrey Audio: mp3
God’s Character
How many here love God? God is a very interesting person and is there a privilege to stop our busy lives and actually get to know who God is and what sort of person He is. As we get to know Him, we admire Him for who He is and some of these traits of God that I admire is His humility. How many people here desire to be humble? Do you believe it’s a requirement to enter into heaven, yes or no?
The Lord is not greedy. God is a God of sharing and that is very evident. The fact that He
gave flowers and then gave us a nose to appreciate the smell that comes from the flower, He could have said “no, that’s all mine, I will not give anyone else the pleasures of mine”, but He equipped us to appreciate the things that He appreciates. God is not greedy, He does not covet things and if you believe that we can go to heaven if we are covetous, we cant.
We praise the Lord for His character because of what we have read in the Bible but I would like to draw your attention to a scripture in Romans 1:20. From the outset we understand a little bit of that Gods character of who He is as a person and how His mind works. Romans 1:20 says because we don’t see God, He understands we don’t see them. He knows that, so He’s made provisions for the fact that we can’t see heaven itself or the angels or we can no longer see Christ in person anymore because He is in heaven but He has made provision for the fact that we can’t see them. How to Run and Not be Weary

By Camron Schofield, Swan View Church 2012.
I appreciate the experience of Christ after He had been in the wilderness of temptation. He had a different countenance of pity and understanding as when He met Satan in wilderness, He met the experience of man. He was able to have compassion on man and reach out to man. When someone knows what you are going through, it’s comforting to know someone else knows when you are in the pit and they say, I understand.
When it comes to Jesus and His weariness we read;
Jeremiah 12:5 If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and [if] in the land of peace, [wherein] thou trustedst, [they wearied thee], then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?
Are the vicissitudes of life wearing us out or are we persevering? We are to push on even unto blood. The marathon runner runs till blood vessels burst. They put us to shame as I find myself weary and want to use it as an excuse. Weariness has much to do with lack of faith.
Isaiah 40:27 Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is passed over from my God?
28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Read the rest of this entry
Baptism by Fire Part 2

By John Thiel Audio: mp3
We have seen in our previous meditation upon baptism of the Holy Spirit and by fire that conversion, new birth, is a patient and protracted process as we saw in the study of the Apostles and specifically of Peter. Those disciples that received Jesus commenced a path.
John1: 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name:
1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
These disciples went through a process of conversion. The word conversion is often interfaced with the word new birth. The idea that conversion is a once in a lifetime experience has been falsely communicated. It is not a once in a lifetime experience. New birth conversion commences at a certain point in a person’s experience and then it unfolds into greater dimensions. It is a conception, as a baby is conceived, a period of development within the womb; a time of birth and a time of further growth.
None are living Christians unless they have a daily experience in the things of God and daily practice self-denial, cheerfully bearing the cross and following Christ. Every living Christian will advance daily in the divine life. As he advances toward perfection, he experiences a conversion to God every day; and this conversion is not completed until he attains to perfection of Christian character, a full preparation for the finishing touch of immortality. {2T 505.1} Read the rest of this entry
Baptism by Fire Part 1

By John Thiel Audio: mp3
Over the next studies we will apply ourselves to the understanding of the words of John the Baptist;
Matthew 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and [with] fire:
The meaning of baptism is what we want to spend some time seeking to understand. Baptism is poorly understood in this modern age of Christianity.
The new birth is a rare experience in this age of the world. This is the reason why there are so many perplexities in the churches. Many, so many, who assume the name of Christ are unsanctified and unholy. They have been baptized, but they were buried alive. Self did not die, and therefore they did not rise to newness of life in Christ (MS 148, 1897). {6BC 1075.7}
This is very much the reality especially now, if not already in the time of Sr White.
Men, women, and children are allowed to take part in the solemn rite of baptism without being fully instructed in regard to the meaning of this ordinance. {RH, October 6, 1904 par. 18} Read the rest of this entry
The Royal Wedding
By Paul Godfrey Audio: mp3
There once was a royal wedding between a prince and a woman from a middle class background. When we talk about weddings and marriages, often there is a great sense of fairy tale and ‘pie in the sky’ concept connected with marriage because many people get married and expect the best and have high hopes but when they get married, it is not exactly what they imagined marriage to be. Marriage has always had attached to it fairy tale concepts but the Bible is clear that this royal wedding is no fairy tale.
We read of a marriage between this prince and this common person in Revelation 17. Read the rest of this entry

04 The Manna from Heaven
Markus Dammasch
Audio: mp3
The Israelites came out of Egypt and it’s an application to us. What does it mean for us to come out of Egypt? Following Jesus is not an outward show. It is not about what we do, what church we go to or the position we hold. It is certainly not what others think about us, but about what is going on in our heart. Outwardly many of us have left other churches behind, Babylon. We come and follow the truth where ever the Lord leads us. But what is going on in our heart? Leaving Babylon or the churches is outward, but what is going on in our heart? Do we continue to make progress in our journey coming out of Babylon or is there something in the way that hinders us? Is there something that prevents us from making continued progress? Let us turn our minds to the Israelites in the time of Moses in the Exodus. God had brought them out of Egypt. He had given them great promises and led them miraculously through the Red Sea. There is no way anyone could doubt that God Himself was leading them. God provided for them the manna and water. He ensured that their garments and shoes would not wear out in the wilderness. He provide a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. God did everything He possibly could to look after His people.
And He Spake As A Dragon

2 Peter 1:19 We have a more sure word of prophesy
When we study prophecies that apply to the future and that have a direct bearing on us, it says we do well to take heed and listen to it. There is a great deal of warning and instruction in Revelation and we would do well to take heed of it.

Proverbs 4:21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 4:22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
We are living in the time of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in the last moments of earth’s history and as we are under this outpouring, we want to be aware and co-operating with that.
Proverbs 4:20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
4:21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
4:22 For they [are] life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it [are] the issues of life.

4:25 Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. Read the rest of this entry
Can You Hear the Music?
Camron Schofield

I appreciate the words of the hymn ‘Angel’s Voices Ever Singing’. It tells me that God likes music.
“Craftsman’s art and music’s measure, for thy pleasure didst design.”
God created music because He likes music. Do you like music? Do you think that God likes to sing to music? Would you like to hear God sing? I would love to hear God sing. We are learning to fine tune into the voice of God. Read the rest of this entry

The Operative Aspect of the Personal Word
John Thiel
God wants us to bask. To bask in what? In the fact that no matter how frail and weak we may be, if we come to Him in contrition and in true dependence upon Him, He is a Father that smiles upon us. He is a Father that wants our salvation and He has given us Jesus to bask in the sunshine of His mercy. We are to drench ourselves with that healing comfort that comes from Him. We are confronted with making these choices that we would be able to live a life in the New Year better than the last year, a life of eternal value. We need to make choices all the time. The choice we make needs to be appreciated. Read the rest of this entry
The Son of Righteousness
John Thiel
How real is it to you and valuable for us to frequently express ourselves of the value of our relationship with Jesus and to identify the realities and the sense of need of those realities? How much do we trust in Him? Is He dearer than all the earth beside? The way to test that is when He asks us to do something and there are other things to detract us whether we will let the detractions go. That is the way to see if that is true.
