Why Does It Say the 144,000 Do Not Taste Death?
THE TIME OF TROUBLE
God would be honored by making a covenant with those who had kept His law, in the sight of the heathen round about them; and Jesus would be honored by translating, without their seeing death, the faithful, waiting ones who had so long expected Him. {EW 282.2} Read the rest of this entry
2. Daniel 11 – The All Comprehensive Vision of Daniel
Daniel Chapter 11 Series
By John Thiel
Audio: The All Comprehensive Vision
In our first study we learnt that the intent of studying the prophecies is to make an experience with Jesus.
John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
Jesus points to the fact that in the research of scripture and prophecy we will discover Jesus Christ. He also said in that scripture ‘in them ye think ye have eternal life’.
John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. Read the rest of this entry

Christ promised to come again.

1. Introducing Daniel 11
By John Thiel
Audio: Introducing Daniel 11
This is a study into the book of Daniel chapter 11 and the purpose of this study is to explore the entire vision of that prophecy of which is a very controversial subject. To introduce this series of studies I want to make one thing very clear, the real intent of inspiration in giving the prophetic detail is something more than merely understanding future events. It is something that apostle Peter handles very clearly. Here is the real intent behind prophetic bible study; Read the rest of this entry

The Trials of the 144,000
By M L Andreason
Job
Job was a good man. God trusted him. Day by day he offered sacrifices for his sons. “It may be that my sons have sinned,” he said. Job. 1:4 He was prosperous and enjoyed the blessing of God. Then came “a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them.” Verse 6. A conversation is recorded between the Lord and Satan that concerned Job. The Lord says that job is a good man, which Satan does not deny, but urges that job is God-fearing merely because it pays him to be so. He states that if God will take away His mercies, Job will curse God. Read the rest of this entry
The Little Horn
When we advocate the true Sabbath in contradiction to the false Sabbath other Christians are quite often astonished at our doctrine. They find it impossible to believe that they, along with the vast majority of Christendom, are in error. They are doubtful that something so fundamental to Christianity, as they see it, could have come as the result an unauthorised change. However the Scriptures show that this is exactly what has taken place. A clear understanding of Daniel chapter 7 and the little horn can show this. Read the rest of this entry

Should Christians Commune With Darkness?
John Thiel
Audio: Darkness
The world, all its joys and comforts are of no real support when we see around us things falling down and all that people have planned and worked towards are being lost. There are delays and discomforts. There is comfort in the Lord and that can never be removed from us. Read the rest of this entry
The Midnight Cry
The Parable of the Ten Virgins
The parable of the ten virgins of Matthew 25 also illustrates the experience of the Adventist people. In Matthew 24, in answer to the question of His disciples concerning the sign of His coming and of the end of the world, Christ had pointed out some of the most important events in the history of the world and of the church from His first to His second advent; namely, the destruction of Jerusalem, the great tribulation of the church under the pagan and papal persecutions, the darkening of the sun and moon, and the falling of the stars. After this He spoke of His coming in His kingdom, and related the parable describing the two classes of servants who look for His appearing. Chapter 25 opens with the words: “Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins.” Here is brought to view the church living in the last days, the same that is pointed out in the close of chapter 24. In this parable their experience is illustrated by the incidents of an Eastern marriage. {GC 393.2}
This study is about the experience of the Adventist people in the parable of the ten virgins and the experience that they had back in 1844. This also relates to our experience as we should know all these things. The parable of the ten virgins continues on until the door is shut but the door hasn’t been shut yet so it’s still a relevant parable for our time. Read the rest of this entry
Leadership in God’s Church
By John Thiel
Our affiliation with God and his church is spoken of in Colossians. In this scripture it speaks of our Father who has delivered us from the power of darkness.
Colossians 1:12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
The gospel of Jesus Christ has brought us into the kingdom of his dear Son. Did you realise that your presence has to do with subjects in a kingdom? We look forward to going to heaven where Gods kingdom and headquarters are but it is through the gospel of Jesus Christ that we are translated into His kingdom in the present tense. The word kingdom raises many objectionable connotations in today’s mentality. We would rather call it a democracy wouldn’t we? But no, God’s kingdom is a monarchy. God’s government is clearly portrayed in the scripture as a monarchy. Read the rest of this entry
Walking as Enoch Walked
By John Thiel
How important is it for those living at this time of earth’s history to have companionship, a constant unbroken walking with God. An experience of knowing God is really with me. For the people who want to be among the 144,000, to be translated from among the living, we have a representative for this subject for the last days. Read the rest of this entry

Crossing the Anti-Typical Jordan
By John Thiel
Audio: Crossing the Anti-Typical Jordan
As we were travelling with the children of Israel in this series we were most startled when we realised what it really meant to cross the river Jordan and who was it that crosses the river Jordan in reality. Who makes it thorough the terrible surging floods of the destructive forces about us? When we went into the type there were a few questions. What we are studying in the story of the Hebrews is not just for the sake of a story it is specifically identified. Read the rest of this entry
The Serpent on the Pole

John 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all [men] unto me.
There is a principle of teaching and it is repeat and enlarge. As we have been through the studies so far, it is really saying the same thing in a different way. If you think about the first study the Passover lamb, the introduction was the whole salvation plan. It is an example of a type to Canaan. If you look at the lamb and the Passover, that in itself is a type of salvation. Read the rest of this entry
At the Borders Yet Not Ready
By John Thiel
Audio: At the Borders But Not Ready
Are you a weary pilgrim? Have you been harassed by severe negativities in your life? Are you weary? You want Jesus to come and you are trudging along, how far is it yet to go? This is something to cheer us along the way.
How sweet are the tidings that greet the pilgrim’s ear,
As he wanders in exile from home!
Soon, soon will the Savior in glory appear,
And soon will the kingdom come.
We are on the borders already. It must have been what the Hebrews felt as they travelled and when they stayed for a year at Mount Sinai. They got close to the border. The Lord was intending that they should go in. It was not God’s idea that they should send ten spies in there, it was their idea. They thought they had better go and check the land out. The twelve spies came back and gave a report. We are to take an account on the Hebrew wilderness wanderings and reflect on these experiences that have affected our lives. Think back on the previous studies. Read the rest of this entry

2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Read the rest of this entry
Finding Jesus in the Darkness
By Camron Schofield
Have you ever been afraid of the future? Have you chosen to follow Jesus and then come to a fuller realization of what that really means? “Though to Jordan’s rolling billows, cold and deep?” And as you consider your future experience, does your spine begin to tingle, a dark gloomy shadow envelope you, and your heart tremble and sink with fear?
Jacob’s Trouble
The “time of trouble, such as never was,” is soon to open upon us; and we shall need an experience which we do not now possess and which many are too indolent to obtain. It is often the case that trouble is greater in anticipation than in reality; but this is not true of the crisis before us. The most vivid presentation cannot reach the magnitude of the ordeal. In that time of trial, every soul must stand for himself before God. (GC 622)
What an experience. It will be far worse than we can even anticipate – far beyond our worst imaginings. Sometimes when we consider where our path is heading, we become tempted to give up the race. Read the rest of this entry
God’s Ways of Administration
By John Thiel
Audio: God’s Ways of Administration
God’s ways are not mans way and vice versa and those in position of leadership and membership in this administration must understand God’s way. In this study we examine him and his way. Recall the studies ‘Gravity and Gods Government of Love’ and another entitled ‘Leadership in God’s Church’. In those studies we highlighted that Gods church and his realm is a kingdom which has rulers to which some are to be submissive to right to the very point of the realm of you own monarchy of you own body that your brain is to be your will monarch of you destiny. In the study of these subjects we highlight that in Gods church realm is a kingdom which has rulers to which some are to be submissive to right to the very point of the realm of your own monarchy, of your own body, that your brain is to be your will. Your will is to be the monarch of your destiny. In God’s kingdom from the kingdom of a person’s own individuality to the kingdom of God overall there is to be a government of love, freewill submission that is not coerced or forced. Our Credentials
By John Thiel
The church was launched by Jesus Christ himself.
Jude 1:3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort [you] that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
This is our mandate from that time on through to our time. The spirit of prophecy makes a meaningful proposition;
Christ gave this commission to His disciples as His chief ministers, the architects who were to lay the foundation of His church. He laid upon them, and upon all who should succeed them as His ministers, the charge of handing His gospel down from generation to generation, from age to age. {8T 14.3} Read the rest of this entry
